Infernal Maze is another uptempo song with great solos. It is more unpredictable that My Eternal Dream. My favorite song by Stratovarius is the epic metal ballad Mother Gaia. There is a lyric video of that song.

Infernal Maze is amazing!!!
Added both!
That drummer, Rolf Pilve, worked actually as a backup for Kai Hahto when he was injured or something on Wintersun's tour last year/this year. Thanks for reacting to this.
So he has great ability then if he can cover for Kai.
Rolf was backupping Kai Hahto, because Kai Hahto is backupping Jukka Nevalainen from Nightwish due to Jukka having trouble with insomnia, it has gotten better on what i've heard. Fun fact is that Rolf Pilve is younger than Stratovarius band which was formed 1985
I do remember people mentioning Kotipelto's vocals were a bit on the low side when the video first came out. They have an amazing live version you should check on your own time (not for video necesairly) :D
My next suggestion for a video: Sonata Arctica - Don't Say a Word
The full version of Don't Say A Word, not the music video cut
The Eternal album is truly awesome. You should buy it. You should also listen to the longest track of the album" The Lost Saga."
It‘s the band that got me into power metal :)
same for me
I enjoyed this song.
Elysium or Mother Gaia next please
Mother Gaia is on the list! :)
Mother Gaia is awesome
exelent react brooo
Royal Hunt is an awesome band Clown in the mirror- Forgiveness- Cold City Lights-Sea Of Time
Yeeessss!! Stratovarius has so much more nice Songs 😍
In general I'm more into their older stuff, songs like Black Diamond, Walk to my own song, Eagleheart, but this was a really cool song although I have to say it sounded pretty much like everything Rhapsody released in the late 90's, early 2000s, at least to me :) just a bit less theatrical. Speaking of them please check out Rhapsody - The mighty ride of the firelord
Oh and this song may also interests you:
Edguy - Out Of Control - Featuring Hansi Kursch [Blind Guardian] & Timo Tolkki [Stratovarius]
Curriburri the First If he did not like Hunting High and Low than he will not like Eagleheart either. Eagleheart is even simpler.
Ok first lol I messed up as I didn't want to write Eagleheart (although I like the song and think it is much better than Hunting...), actually my brain thought of the song Speed of Light and my hands wrote Eagleheart^^
Speed of Light and Out of Control are on the list! :)
you should listen to Shine in the dark, from that same album, one of my favourite Stratovarius songs along with this one
ad btw, Kotipelto had a couple of operations in his throat, that's why he is singing lower nowadays
Could you react to Sonata Actica's songs Power of One or The Cage? I'm sure you'd like them!
Added The Cage! :)
You should do Phoenix it’s great also.
If you wanna check out some more newer Stratovarius I suggest "Elysium". About 18 minutes of epicness, and the outro solo is one of my favourites ever.
It's on the list! :)
check out stratovarius elements, 12 minutes epic music, last 4 minutes its a bit drawn out if you ask me
Stratovarius eagelheart
react Elysium and lost saga !
Sooo... Kotipelto absolutely screwed up his voice after years and years of SCREAMING incorrectly, which you may have noticed. That may have something to do with how his vocal tracks are produced nowadays. But I am happy, because man, his voice just didn't do it for me in the olden days. He did well for Disney's Brother Bear though.
Maybe the vocals were just mixed low because he's now the worst part of the band. Usually that honor goes to the bass player, but in this case that person happens to be a virtuoso and the great grandson of Jean Sibelius. xD
I can agree that out of all the things going on here that the vocal work is the least impressive to me as well. I disagree with it being the bass player unless we are talking about more mainstream metal. Prog metal or jumping over to funk or jazz is a whole different level of bassist. :)
Funny you should say that since the man I was talking about, _Lauri_ _Porra_ , is among other things a classically trained prog/jazz/metal bassist. :D
Here's Lauri performing with Lahti Symphony Orchestra: ua-cam.com/video/ddMPfmFsi5I/v-deo.html
x666xIronMaiden Do you find Timo Kotipelto’s vocal work least impressive in general or just in this song.
Kotipelto's vocals have been all over the place in his career. They were probably at their best around 2003. He had an infection in 2011 that damaged his vocal chords too.
Quadrupledragon Do you prefer Timo Tolkki's vocals over that of Kotipelto?
hmm... seems like nothing special to me. sounds a bit like hammerfall...
