I’m sure they’re putting up a new 100th anniversary mural for the Pippen. The park had noted on Facebook they had more coming for that besides just the sign on the ride.
I thought on media day they said they were going to paint the mural into something and we just had to wait. Honestly It doesn’t bother me that area did need a new refresh. So I’m fine with whatever they put there.
@@RMsteelerfan7 yeah I took a photo of it back in June when I went to the park. I’m okay with it, I want to see what kinda cool painting they do next with it.
I have a prediction I came up with, and I'd LOVE your input. The Pirate is on its way out for an Area 412 expansion. With all the refurbishments, especially in the old Volcano alley, The Pirate stands out as lacking the love the other rides have had. The ship itself needs extensive replacement and paint. and just look at the control station. It takes up a significant footprint from the support footers as well as the knoll it rests on. Keeping with their current go to Zamperla, I think there are several possible replacements with lighting packages that would further make that area pop as as well as add much needed curb appeal and eye candy to cars passing on Kennywood Blvd. Super Air Race - as there is nothing like that nearby as far as I know. Endeavor - I feel like this was a red herring for Volcano's replacement, and still a ride I think will make an appearance some time in the next few years at the park Nebulaz - Hershey does have one, but I think Kennywood is far enough away and watching them work is mesmerizing and would be eye candy for passers by viewing the new ride of the year. Over all I think something on the scale of Steel Curtain or maybe an actual expansion to the grounds itself may be on the horizon and they are getting the park in top form for future crowds and the associated spotlight with maybe another low year of park aesthetic enhancements and guest experience being the focus. Also an overhaul of Kiddieland and Thomas Town, hopefully merging them into one complete area which could put it on the map for children's areas in the larger market.
I heard they’re going to do something similar to what they did with the theming of the bumper cars, and the color of the phantom. They’re probably just going to put a new design for the mural.
Agreed! Just rode it yesterday and didn’t get wet at all! I’m not exaggerating, I literally waited 45 minutes in the heat just to end up not getting wet. It’s a disappointment.
Tbh I was kind of disappointed with the spinvasion. I would’ve rather them kept the volcano and fixed it, it could do single or double riders. The volcano was definitely better in my opinion, but it’s better than replacing the space with more tables or restaurants. The mural will probably just be redone, a little change here and there isn’t too crazy.
And I could already see this being an uproar on social media. Oh well, it’s a wall! Move on lol. But yeah, I hate seeing them replace their rides with tables, or lockers in the Bayern Kurve’s case… that’s the one thing I won’t forgive them ever for doing.
Exactly I hate that they removed two rides just for tables the Elaphant one I used to ride all the time when I was a kid and my kid loved that ride plus they already have tables in the mane park I love your content 😊
We are all entitled to our own opinions. I personally love spinvasion, and while I did love the volcanos I also love spinvasion and think it’s a very fun ride. Also its lighting package is the best of any ride in the park, which makes me love it even more. There are modern versions of what the Volcano and or Enterprise as the rides model was but most would have been like Spinvasion of only haveing room for one rider. From what I’ve heard those enterprise rides have had very complicated and complex controls and operating systems that even though they got a replacement in 2016 could explain why they decided to remove it for something new entirely, and I kinda like how the area looks even more now
I fully trust the park I’m not considered to me and in my opinion 90% of the time they removed something they replaced it with something that I thought was just as good if not better than the original the only ones I can’t think of a time they didn’t is the paratrooper and bayren curve, but they have excuses for both of those, like how paratroopers land is kinda token up by kangaroos new line. I love all the ride replacements just as much if not more than the original, so I’ve been very happy and trust the park and although I never thought the experience was bad I’ve been having the best experiences at the park ever recently the past few seasons and or pretty much sense they went this new direction back in 2022.
Kennywood as gone down hill over the past 5 years at least. From how you pay for things, to the hours of operation, to the rides not operational, to all the criminals walking around that place. Not to mention the jacked up prices for admission. I'd rather drive an extra hour and take my kids to Idlewild.
Ik people are going to disagree with me but, Tbh i kinda hope they replace the derbolt with a RMC or a steel coaster or smth else. I do like the derbolt but after going to BGT yesterday i dont want to go back to kennywood’s boring coasters so something more thrilling would be nice but kennywood wouldn’t to that.
It’s a landmark coaster and still highly regarded, and far from boring. It ain’t going anywhere any time soon. I’d love a ground up RMC hybrid, but Phantom already provides that ejector airtime without destroying your legs.
You can want them to RMC it all you want, but they probably will never do it because it’s a landmark coaster as one of you mentioned. If there’s any coaster at Kennywood I would want RMC’d, it would be Racer. Why RMC your best woodie? Do your worst, and Racer would probably be the worst in my opinion.
@@RMsteelerfan7 good point, but the reason I didn’t say RMC racer is cuz kids can ride it and it’s not intense which makes it enjoyable for kids. But the thunderbolt you have to be 50 inches so a RMC might decrease the height requirement so more little kids can ride it, but increases the thrill of the ride.
Aw man! Some of my most cherished Kennywood memories are getting a picture by that mural every time I visited!
It better not be train replacements. Those trains are historic and legendarily awesome.
I'll never get over the log jammer being removed it was one of my favorite rides it was such a great ride 😢

Yea
I think that they should add a canopy over the cue line of the tbolt.

Honestly It doesn’t bother me that area did need a new refresh. So I’m fine with whatever they put there.
I had known this for a long time, I even took a photo literally 2 weeks ago of this mural because I knew the time was coming… and I was right.

These are some pretty interesting ride choices that could happen. I like your idea here.
aw that really sucks. i love that thing
Extra video yay

Hopefully they’re just refreshing it
If they are I’m kind of excited to see it
This is so disappointing this carried my childhood I loved walking around and seeing this painting heartbreaking😢💔
Did you know that the thunderbolt? Is the second best wooden coaster in the world
I'm more upset about the modernization of the breaks.
What is happening to Kennywood?
Dang! I bet Kenny did it!! He better put it back!!😢😢
Why😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The new one is absolutely hideous
Meh. Not the first time the wall has been re-done. How about we refresh the Rapids instead though?
Agreed! Just rode it yesterday and didn’t get wet at all! I’m not exaggerating, I literally waited 45 minutes in the heat just to end up not getting wet. It’s a disappointment.
What if they are hinting to RMC the coaster
Nah that’s next year

@@Duffster115 I do love the lights on the Spinvasion! During the Holiday lights, they had them red and green, it was pretty cool.

Rmc is coming
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Well, the new one is out and its ugly. Palace entertainment just doesnt get it.
This park is such a joke there was the sh**ting a couple years back then steel curtain is down a whole year and now this
