It seems like there were some recent years when NO ONE was marching cymbals except SCV, but people are starting to add them back in. I love how creative, crazy, and cool it is. The cymbal flash and crash adds so much on the field! I hope they never get rid of this element--it's one of the coolest things about SCV.
im a freshmen and i made the cymbal line (i go to a small school so we only have 3) for indoor percussion i usually play clarinet but im excited for cymbals
Noah Messick I've always done flute but this year (freshman) I wanted to try drum line, so I figured cymbals would be my best bet because I don't know anything about drums. It's super fun now that I've gotten into it. I just wish someone had warned me about pinching myself all the time and how heavy they were.
Armada Conspiracy I thought I was the only person this happened to. I pinch myself all the time. At one point I had undone my tunic button with my cymbals. But I still love my cymbals.
Emma Helene It those hurt your upper arms. To help your arms get stronger do a lot of pushups and tricep exercises. I have started these and other exercises to strengthen the muscles in my upper arms. Not just the sound but the muscles in my arms are stronger. I rarely rest during my songs. Oh forgot I am the only cymbal player in my band, so its all up to me.
Theodosiamarshall Marshall I good exercise to do is to hold your cymbals out to the side and hold that for a long period of time (whatever that may be for you)
I am my school's cymbal line section leader. We had the cymbal line reinstated this year after not having one for more than 5 years. There are four of us.
I've always done flute but this year, because moved to a MUCH MUCH smaller school (freshman). I decided to try drum line along side band. I figured cymbals would be my best bet (there are only four of us) because I don't know anything about drums. It's super fun now that I've gotten into it. The fu-? If someone had blind folded me and clicked this video, I would've been like, "Did WGI come early this year?". It just works on it's own haha, let alone with the horn line.
+BDizDaBest just because the Blue Devils don't use cymbals doesn't mean that other corps like SCV and Spirit shouldn't either. Kinda judgemental when it doesn't effect their score and is well loved by fans.

Always fun to watch one of these and see how many of the classic visuals are still being used!
very good year for this line! i still cant believe that three of them were new to the corps this year. awsome job scv.

Noah Messick Lol they make your hands hurt, and are very heavy (if you have 22" or more)

Which is why Phantom Regiment probably sorely misses Mr. Rennick.
i remember in my cymbal line i had a visual with baby and then we drop it.
Skillful, quick and tight knit group. They killed that
When you start your own corps, you can just not have a super sick amazing cymbal line who does kick ass visuals to complete the drumline table.
The tradition continues, great stuff

Mine is at Warrenton High School. I am getting moved to tenor though, because we are loosing both of ours next year.
Ethan Welk . Where are you from. What state? Booking possibly?
@@bobbiejonesgrayer5348 I am from Meridan, Idaho but I moved to Warrenton Missouri 5 years ago. Now I am back in Idaho.

I love Drew's face at 1:36. Awesome stuff, I can't wait to see more!
Some of those visuals are older than the kids doing them.

This makes me wish scouts never got rid of their cymbal line.

Our snares and tenors this year put in a full two measure visual of an abortion. Hilarious to see the reactions.
Good but the old line was better, they were snappier, aggressive and intense.
posers
BlueIce Gaming they just aren't as good as some other lines
SkatohGleason best in dci
Than you haven't seen the Madison Scouts cymbal line!
