omg now its getting really tiny. 😄 i only got one mame and its kind of a pain in the ass to water and maintain. dont get me wrong it really looks nice but wouldnt it be better to plant it in a small flower pot first to thicken up the trunk at least a little and get some basic structure and then put it in that pot? anyway nice little tree but i wouldnt want to maintain it 😉
Anna you are not wrong and it would definitely develope faster in a larger pot. I don't take the mame trees very seriously I just like to look at them and they really impress visitors. I had 4 of those seedling the other 3 went into larger training containers. I know you watched the other video with the little maple I think you would have a difficult time developing a compact root system like that in a larger container.
@@beardedbonsai yes sure the root system is more compact, but you get that compact root system also when the tree is established in the small pot after it spent some years in a flower pot to gain vigour. so i dont see the advantage of putting it in a small bonsai pot first but maybe i just dont get it. i think i have never seen someone planting a seedling that small in a bonsai pot. i think even nigel saunders would plant it in a flower pot first 😉but again nice work and im very interested in how it progresses over the summer
Nice little tree!
Thank you sir.
So cute!
That's what I thought.
