NWO Spinoza laureate 2023 - Joyeeta Gupta

Joyeeta Gupta (1964), Professor of Environment and Development in the Global South at the University of Amsterdam, investigates how issues connected with the inequitable distribution of the effects of climate change can be resolved through good governance.
In the course of her PhD research, Gupta was one of the first to determine the direct impact that the consequences of climate change, such as the increased risk of flooding, drought and lost harvests, has on the relationships between rich and poor.
