@@BidenGD I feel you, man. It's the worst feeling when you think about things you could've done differently. I've definitely had a loss like that myself.
The way this woman runs out in the rain and sets up a blockade just to rescue this cat...god. You can tell she truly loves her job and takes it seriously.
Oh yes, definitely. I also admire the fact that, apparently, there are some funds/charities in Korea which can pay for this. In many countries there would be no way a stray cat was treated at all - unless there was someone with a credit card at hand... My cat once needed a simple surgery which, sadly, insurance didn't cover - this, plus 2 days at the vet clinic costed me c.a. £1,100 (I live in the UK) - I reckon a surgery like this one would easily be 2-3 times that. So this poor girl, after all the tragedy, finally got lucky with all the love and funds she encountered. Hope she is now "silly" all the way, with her new family and the adopted kitten.
Scientifically, the answer is no, cats don’t cry tears when they feel upset like humans do. But they still feel sadness and even grief, and they have their own ways of expressing those emotions. Also, if you notice a cat’s eyes becoming watery, it’s more likely the result of a medical issue, and in those cases you should consult with your regular veterinarian to make sure nothing super serious is behind the apparent feline tears.
i love this video, but cats don't cry due to emotion. when cats are put under anesthesia, they cannot close their eyes, so they must be lubricated frequently during the surgery. it's likely that post-surgery, the cat's tear-ducts were disturbed by the lubricant, causing it to form tears. though it's pretty clear that the cat loved her new kitten with the way she was cleaning him :)
@@denizend Yeah it's very misleading that these people who have obviously looked into a lot of information on taking care of cats, either don't know, or are purposefully misrepresenting why there are tears in the cat's eyes.
Man you could tell she was just so depressed that she became catatonic. She didn't seem to care what much happened to her, she wouldn't even eat. Those tears in her eyes made me tear up too, I'm so glad she has a home now. --- (EDIT 2/25/2023) Y'all, I wasn't saying the cat was crying directly due to emotions, I know its stress. I knew that as I typed it- Y'all get on my nerves fr. Though honestly even if that's what I meant, when I think abt it, you're still wrong if you deny that by technicality: The tears are caused by stress (just like ours!), and is still an indicator of her depression regardless (just like ours!!!!). Yes, she is not crying in the same exact sense that we do, nor is as conscious about her situation as we would be, however, the reason she is""crying"" stems from a traumatic, stressful, and extremely depressing situation. She is, by technicality, crying because depression. Also to those saying animals cant feel emotion, grief, or depression: MANY INSTINCTS ARE PUSHED BY EMOTION. THEY ARE NOT ENTIRELY SEPARATE THINGS. Idek why some people seem to think "if a species works on instinct, they can't emote" bro, we literally have instincts that are emotionally based too. Emotions often guide the instinct. For example, a hamster would not care to defend its territory / act on that instinct if it didn't get overly pissed off at the other hamster for being there. The hamster doesn't just blankly decide "I'm going to run you off", it FEELS angry. It feels it entirely. N I'm just guessing you never owned two pets before and watched the younger cat's reaction to losing their old friend? Cos i have, a few different times. its very obvious. And these weren't even my said cats' own babies- which mom cats have a whole added on instinct to be emotional over. One was a whole Labrador dog my cat was grieving over. Cat's feel grief, love, connections, sadness- the whole package, they just don't feel or manage it the EXACT same way as most people do. and yes the cat pun was intentional
She was in shock. Living in unfriendly city streets, pregnant and alone, probably hit by a car and left to die, their instinct is to run away as they don’t know what death is but can feel it and can’t outrun it; then a premature birth still experiencing severe trauma, in the rain, under a car which they know might move and crush what’s left of her broken body and her kittens along with her; then after a painful, lonely birth, finding that they’re dead - and God knows what other complications she had during birth, people and more cars passing by,… then she’s spotted by humans and surrounded and taken away… no wonder she was catatonic.. she must have been ready to curl up and die.
@@michaelwong6050 The idea that cats or most other animals of similar intelligence don't have emotion is generally considered probably false. 'Emotion' is what drives many behaviours, including those considered as 'animal instincts' or whatever, other animals likely rely on emotional responses to guide many processes. If this is an area you're genuinely interested in learning about then a good, though not related specifically to emotion in cats, is 'Are we smart enough to know how smart animals are?' by Frans De Waal is a really good and interesting one
Yes. She was tramatized from it. The only thing that brought her back to reality was the orphan kitten. She did have a broken heart but maybe she could get better with time and her loving new family.
She looked like she was in shock, either from losing her kittens, or from being hit by something, or both? Poor thing, at least someone takes care of her now
She looked so defeated. She didn't even care what happened to her, let them handle her without a fight. And her pupils, dilated. Gave her the kitten and she was relieved and felt loved. Her eyes went normal. I'm crying.
@wyomarine I'm referring to her pupils changing and seeing a chance in her as she relaxed. I know cats go into shock but doesn't mean they don't feel emotions
@Connie Phillips goddam!! So fucking what! The cat was relieved! She was saved from a bad situation! CATS HAVE FEELINGS TOO! For fuck sake, can a person not point out something and not get slammed for it? Geezus fucking Christ can you people not find something better to do? I stand by my comment! Fuck off!
Actually cats are crying by making Sounds, wich are similar to a human. But tears are not a part of crying from a cat, cats are getting tears cause of medical reasons. The human is the only Animal (yes right Animal), Who bursts into tears cause of Strong emotions/feelings
I think she didnt resist anything because her spirit was so broken she had given up. The tears in her eyes when you gave her the kitten was so powerful, it triggered her sadness, but also gave her a reason to live. What a moment. I'm shook.
@@salamander8301 While cats certainly do have emotions, such as grieving or depression, they will never shed tears to show those feelings. If you are concerned about your pet's emotions, look for other signs such as lethargy, withdrawal, or disinterest in food. These issues can also be a sign of illness.
All these people talking about crying once they saw the cat crying... man, I was crying when they found the dead kittens near the mother cat, and I didn’t stop until the video ended. My heart...
One moment you were watching a shitpost and the next you watch a touching video about a mother cat who lost its kittens and embracing another that lost its mother. This is why UA-cam is better than TV.

It shouldn't be possible for a cat to cry, but when I saw those tears, I just started crying. That mama went through such a hard thing and it was very obvious that she had just given up on everything. But then that little kitten was placed next to her and she realized that she could keep going. Not just for herself, but for others too. I hope that guy that adopted her decided to take that little kitten home too.
You are dearly right, this mama cat looked so in pain when she must’ve lost her loved ones, but now the kitten who was placed next to her, probably just made her day, she now can move on with another life, but of course, she will never forgot about the loved ones she had lost, and she DID realize she could move on, and the others she could move on for, are her loved ones.
I think its ridiculous that ppl think other animals arent capable of emotions or crying n such when their eyes require water just like ours and we’re animals too. We’re not that different
@@-LowResDream those two things are completely different. Being able to feel emotions has NO BEARING on whether or not you use tears to communicate them

@@K4inan Well, I'vs seen a small cat crying tears that dropped from its eyes.It has lost its mother and became a stray cat and was adopted by our neighbor. When it saw one of my cats, it ran directly towards it, making sounds as if it was crying because of joy. I noticed tears dripping from its eyes that I didn't see minutes before. The small cat approached my cat as if it was his mother. My cat was irritated by this unexpected approach. Later I found out, where the small cat came from and who the mother was. She looked so similar to my cat that I tried to call her until I came close enough to recognize differences. So I think the small cat was overwhelmed to (seemingly) find its mother again and therefore shed tears. This is my observation, and i was very surprised to see this in real life. And now I don't trust assertions that animals can't cry because of emotions. Years before it was doubted that animals could think or that fish could feel any pain etc. We should not humanize animals but we should trust our eyes and our direct observations.

Cats too have post pregnancy depression and hormonal changes just like humans. The veterinarian did the best step to encourage the kitten to be adopted by the mother cat who lost her kitten. God bless them for healing the cat not just physically but also psychology.
Agree. I took my cat to be spayed when she was already pregnant.. That fu*ked her up, mentally. Like her hormons have frozen her in a state of "expecting babies" (dissapearing, maybe searching for nests, rejecting her older babies and sibling).. It took about six months to be herself again (and I'm riddled with guilt ever since)
Gop Nik they may not have known beforehand. (Obviously) cats aren’t given as much prenatal care as humans, and if was an outdoor cat, the owner wouldn’t have known they had gotten pregnant, and if it was early stages, really how would they have known to get a test done. That’s why slaying and neutering (and obv vaccinating) is so important :)
seledia hey it’s ok. I’m sure you didn’t even know she was pregnant and you were just trying to do the right thing by spaying her. She knows you love her.
The kindness shown, the laborious effort to pour grace on an animal without asking for anything in return because its beyond that creatures ability to do so, reminds me that in this cruel world, there are still people who choose to act with pure love. You inspire me to be a better person! That cat actually teared up, it couldn't comprehend why but it can feel the grandeur of the gift she was given!
That sounds like the worst physical and emotional pain possible: breath both femurs + childbirth = 3 x most painful experiences + massive fear + lose litter of kittens + rain and you're a cat so you hate wet. Pure misery.
I noticed how the whole time she doesn’t meow or whine or hiss that much she’s just in to much pain to do anything and just stares blankly into nothing especially when she got the kitten she seemed to take it all in slowly
I've had several cats who adopted other cat's babies. A chicken adopted 4 baby ducks when her own eggs didn't hatch. They are amazing, like people can be.
At one time we had 4 mother cats and 4 litters all within 2 weeks. They were all white kittens long and short hair, and each had a black smudge on their forehead. My son decided to switch them around every so often, no one complained. We eventually got them homes.

The sad thing about this, is that in reality, when humans loses their babies. It can cause numbness, depression, and some people get divorce, or driven to alcohol/drugs because of it. But when cats give birth, like this cat in particular, she lost 4 kittens, it takes a toll on people, and animals, too. She just can't do anything about it, or mourn like humans do. She can't even see a therapist, like we do.
A leader is meant to serve. As humans we're meant to be caretakers of earth and serve life on this planet but ... well hope you're aware enough that it needs no spelling out.

But kindness and compassion from that guy that got her help and then held her in her arms so tenderly when she had another orphan kitty to raise just tore at my heart. All animals have feelings and they can love as much. I think this young guy found a companion for life. God bless his kindness, he will never regret it.

I did NOT know that cats, animals, Do cry.. Oh my LORD GOD. Did the guy take her newborn kitten with her? I do REALLY hope so, otherwise that would cruel too.
I found one of my best cats under my van on top of engine. That is why I always knock on auto before starting. I have to listen for the sound of a cat.
And people say cats don’t cry or feel emotion? My cat is so caring when your sick she won’t leave your side and snuggles you. When I cry she lays next to me and put her paw on my face and she cried with me too.
Cats are deep..that’s their secret. They love hard, they just don’t want that known, but you have to love them hard too. And even without speaking a word of Korean, or thinking to switch the subtitles on, I understood every word.
So I’m not the only one who understood that. They show their love a lot, but only to people who understand them. Sadly people are too superficials (or lack sensibility) and don't see proof of their affection (soft eyes blinks, tail around leg, body moves when they see someone they like...)
Oh yeah, subtitles. I felt tremendous sympathy but I had no idea what was going on. Like "I wish I knew what they were saying". So I went back and watched again with subtitles. Even more gut-wrenching. So sad for those poor little baby kittens and their poor heartbroken mother. I hope it wasn't necessary to spay her because she deserves to have another chance at bringing new life into the world.
Cats are soft and gentle, unfortunately many people are not connected to this part of themselves, and are not able to be soft enough to communicate with cats. They want “fun” and “action” instead. Cats can sense this and ignore these people. But if you give them attention on their level, they will be your friend.

Plus he and his girlfriend had no idea at the time the tragedy the cat (who was still a kitten herself) had just endured. In his mind he was simply helping a stray cat.

The look in her eyes, the pain she had gone through, and the kittens she lost. You are a kind person for saving that cat.
And as humans we split cat families up every day and act like it’s normal...
@@nathanyork1470 True
Scientifically, the answer is no, cats don’t cry tears when they feel upset like humans do. But they still feel sadness and even grief, and they have their own ways of expressing those emotions.
Also, if you notice a cat’s eyes becoming watery, it’s more likely the result of a medical issue, and in those cases you should consult with your regular veterinarian to make sure nothing super serious is behind the apparent feline tears.
@ I believe they are talking about when you own a cat and it has kittens humans sell them so they separate the mother from her babies
@@lexbee9866 that’s why you are supposed to neuter your cat or dog
I don't think I've ever seen a more emotionally beautiful sight than those tears in the mother's eyes, thank you, what an amazing video
i love this video, but cats don't cry due to emotion. when cats are put under anesthesia, they cannot close their eyes, so they must be lubricated frequently during the surgery. it's likely that post-surgery, the cat's tear-ducts were disturbed by the lubricant, causing it to form tears.
though it's pretty clear that the cat loved her new kitten with the way she was cleaning him :)
Yes, indeed! Very moving and truthful....loss in one area means gain in another. Hope they are all happy!
---
(EDIT 2/25/2023)
Y'all, I wasn't saying the cat was crying directly due to emotions, I know its stress. I knew that as I typed it-
Y'all get on my nerves fr.
Though honestly even if that's what I meant, when I think abt it, you're still wrong if you deny that by technicality:
The tears are caused by stress (just like ours!), and is still an indicator of her depression regardless (just like ours!!!!). Yes, she is not crying in the same exact sense that we do, nor is as conscious about her situation as we would be, however, the reason she is""crying"" stems from a traumatic, stressful, and extremely depressing situation. She is, by technicality, crying because depression.
Also to those saying animals cant feel emotion, grief, or depression:
MANY INSTINCTS ARE PUSHED BY EMOTION.
She was in pain. Not depressed. She didn't care about her dead offspring. Nature does not have time for emotions.
What happened to the abandoned kitten who was next to her in the vet?
@@michaelwong6050 The idea that cats or most other animals of similar intelligence don't have emotion is generally considered probably false. 'Emotion' is what drives many behaviours, including those considered as 'animal instincts' or whatever, other animals likely rely on emotional responses to guide many processes. If this is an area you're genuinely interested in learning about then a good, though not related specifically to emotion in cats, is 'Are we smart enough to know how smart animals are?' by Frans De Waal is a really good and interesting one

I started crying. I have a soft spot for animals. This really hits home though, since I have cats at home who were rescued once long ago..

It made me cry. I know that loss, that poor, poor mommy cat. 😭
Whoa I almost thought that was my own comment
Sorry to say but only humans can cry from emotions. Cats only cry if their eyes are really irritated or they're on drugs.

Agree. I took my cat to be spayed when she was already pregnant.. That fu*ked her up, mentally. But when cats give birth, like this cat in particular, she lost 4 kittens, it takes a toll on people, and animals, too. She just can't do anything about it, or mourn like humans do. She can't even see a therapist, like we do.
☹️
A leader is meant to serve. As humans we're meant to be caretakers of earth and serve life on this planet but ... well hope you're aware enough that it needs no spelling out.
Cause cats don’t need therapy they don’t have the same emotions as humans
Lethal fire62 Cats still have incredibly complex emotions
@@lethalfire6247 Yes they do, they still have the same feelings. They still get depressed, they get sad. Just because an animal is a human, doesn't mean they don't have feelings like a human.

She has such a sweet face but her heart was breaking after losing all her babies. She had lost the will to live under all that pain. But kindness and compassion from that guy that got her help and then held her in her arms so tenderly when she had another orphan kitty to raise just tore at my heart. All animals have feelings and they can love as much. I think this young guy found a companion for life. God bless his kindness, he will never regret it.
Please keep the two of them together. God bless them and all of you that saved thier sweet little hearts!
That mama will love that baby like it's her own! Sad that she lost her babies! But at least she's got one to love & care for! & take away the pain of losing her own!

Mine too.. the are so sweet they know when i'm sad they are extra sweet.. even they all no breed stray cats i love them so much.
Cats do feel things. Not like humans feel things though. And the crying is probably because some infection.
they have emotions, but the crying as stated by deicidemaul was not because of any emotion. they are incapable of crying because they're sad

You can tell in her eyes how sad she was. So glad she accepted that baby and had a kitten to care for.
Cats are deep..that’s their secret. They love hard, they just don’t want that known, but you have to love them hard too. And even without speaking a word of Korean, or thinking to switch the subtitles on, I understood every word.
Beautiful. Made my day
So I’m not the only one who understood that.
@@davidkasquare I agree...cats respond to soft, kind and gentle people. Whether or not someone is a cat person is a good clue to their personality.
The guy the owner of car is a real man, gentle and take his time over a cat under his car... he care and call for help instead leave the scene and maybe can harm the cat accidentally by run it over... best guy I ever saw!! he deserved a medal for being "A great gentleman"
and then he adopted that cat
👏🏻👏🏻
Plus he and his girlfriend had no idea at the time the tragedy the cat (who was still a kitten herself) had just endured. In his mind he was simply helping a stray cat. It's more like people dont have feelings
@@athaliacoker5033 Which is accurate. There's a reason why psychopathic animals don't exist - humans literally _are_ the only species that can be born without emotion.
Only ignorant people would think that. To anyone who’s ever spent enough time with animals it’s obvious they feel emotions.

They dont cry. if you ever see tears in the eyes of your cat, go immediately to the vet where he can check for signs of infection. Cats have two eye lids, and their eyes are not like ours at all. Only humans have water in their eyes due to stress.
