No PFD’s within 6’ of open water. Not the proper rail type to separate work area from open water. Parts of this video were actually shown on the local news. “Here in Duluth we vote for extra spending on solar gardens, but we publicize how our local unions don’t follow OSHA guidelines” hahaha. Awesome video though! Thanks for sharing. I drive by it everyday chilling in the same spot...at least they moved the chains haha!
Tom Donelson it's still there, for now. It's getting moved just down the bay a ways to Frasier Shipyards to refurbishing and I believe it will be back in its place next year sometime
It's a museum ship that does not sail. They had to move it to clean the contaminated soil in the slip. It is currently back in the same spot, guessing it will sit there undisturbed for another 20 years.
I suppose scraping ice off a windshield isn't that bad.

I like the brainchild finishing the cut on the piece of ice he was standing on. Darwin was right - almost.

Yet another use for a backhoe. Whod'a thunk?
That's cool. If you pardon the pun.
Thanks for the post.
Was it really only drawing 5 feet or so at the bow?
The Irvin has been docked at that slip for many years. Where is it now or is it back?

They'd have fewer occupational back injuries if they put those saws on wheels with handles.
I’m guessing that’s the Minnesota Slip Bridge? Watching utub vids in seattle doing google earth. I guess that would be it.
Correct 👍
excellent, thanks
I wonder if it would help to install bubblers...

Why are the moving it?
They are fixing the sea walls in that entire slip, had to move the ship to work on the wall it was tied up to.
Thank you very much!! I was hoping they weren't getting rid of the ship, I always enjoy seeing it when we are up there.
