Im glad im not alone struggling against slayer with axl, even my goat dabohaze is
Many people might think Slayer struggles in this matchup due to inability of dash block, but Slayer's Mappa Hunch is surprisingly annoying for Axl. Somehow a well-rounded and strong character like Sol is easier to handle than Slayer.
Axl has to either preemptively use 2P/2HS, or instant block and throw punish to prevent Slayer approaching by Mappa Hunch. The former one leaves Axl vulnerable to aerial approach like IAD or dash cancel jump, while the latter one requires solid blocking skill and isn't really rewarding. Slayer can just keep gambling, and once he gets in, Axl can hardly get away.

Axl is that one character you think he’s miserable to play but it turns out he’s actually really fun. Unless you’re fighting him…
I am heavily glad. He gets better design than his earlier versions. Which makes him boring to watch. Unless i need a better colour to play him. GGX i always love to mess around with him. I always wanted to do Rashou shen.
