    So much food for the price you paid. I was thinking it would be a lot higher. What a blessing to the family you are hosting and to your family.

    FYI - In case you didn’t know ~
    with the pineapple, I was told to pluck one on the leaves out of the top - if it comes out easily- should be ripe. Seems to work every time for me. 🍍

      Me too. I don't think there'd be enough room in the guest house. Maybe if it's warm enough tents outside?

    If you are getting a lot of eggs from your chickens. You can hard boil them and use them on top of salads as protein for dinner, and to make egg salad for sandwiches for lunch.

      They are an absolutely precious family. They brought their 36’ camper along with them. It’s a pretty nice setup from what I hear. They are settling in right now. I’m sure Julie will get some good footage.

    Jason and Julie:
    Green pineapples cannot ripen on their own.Cut off part of the top and set it upside down in a paper bag, add an apple, roll the bag opening closed. In a couple of days it will ripen. Ethylene from apples or bananas will ripen the pineapple as it does not produce that. This is how fruits/veggies ripen when picked green. I imagine Jason is agitated from his injury, the pain and inability to do what he wants to get done. Chaffing at the bit. If this is the case, for both of you: You belong to a God who has no limitations. His provisions are endless. His blessings are measureless, and His generosity is boundless. All that is in his heart for you flows out in waves of love. You have been blessed by the best! Much Love and many prayers. 👍👍

    3 weeks, 22 people, $1300+; even with freezer meats that’s a challenge! Please do a follow up on how you did and what you might do differently next time. Live and Learn 😃

      @@jasonandjulie you did say that things like bananas 🍌 would need to be replenished. I think of this as a practice run. One of your long term goals is to host groups. 😃 Let the hosting begin.
      I think it’s wonderful that this families ministry is “to help with projects”, which is help your ministry evolve. There is a beautiful symmetry.

    I would like to ask what you give kids for calming down? Any suggestions?
    Is this for night only or for daytime focus?
    I could really use some tips for kids who have trouble focusing and keeping on track.

    • @jasonandjulie
      @jasonandjulie  2 роки тому +1

      I make sure our diets are free from any food dye and keep sugar for a “sometimes” food. This helps a lot with kid emotions/energy level. The Calms product is not just for going to sleep, so it may be helpful to try with your child. You can order it online: amzn.to/3EomC66

      This wasn’t the only thing we ate. Like I said, we have freezers stocked with meats, we have a cow for milk, chickens for eggs, grains in the pantry…
      I cook most things from scratch and so I can take ingredients and turn them into meals. This makes everything stretch a lot farther than buying all prepackaged food

      Buy the family pack at my somewhat local Mennonite Grocery Store for $.90/box. I don’t consider that a bad price.
