Looking forward to the rest of the videos in this series. I've already seen them, but I think you two will have something to add ;o).
I'm looking forward to it too! Especially because Jordan has Opinions (tm tm tm)
@@AmericansLearn That makes two. Right :o)?
Great reaction greetings from The Netherlands
That brainwashing you're talking about runs so deep. It's not just people being to led to believe some fact like "Henry Ford's contributions to assembly lines was a great development!" without really critically interrogating that. The idea of "car centric suburbia is bad" is incredibly controversial in America. I've had so many conversations with otherwise very progressive people who will still maintain that they like to have the option to live in the suburbs away from noisy, disgusting, dangerous cities and just have some peace and quiet, and that their cars are the only way to have the freedom to live how they please. They cannot fathom how places designed to require cars to do anything are not freedom at all but rather massive financial burdens that disproportionately impact the lower classes. True freedom is not having to own a ludicrously expensive personal vehicle to be able to perform the basic functions of life, but "car = freedom" is likely too deeply ingrained in the collective American psyche to move beyond it to really try to fix how we live our lives.
It tuns so deep that people think driving 1hr to work is "fun"
