I live in a rural area in the Santa Lucia Mountains of Central California. On a private secured road, a visitor killed a 9 foot Kingsnake because it resembled the Pacific Diamondback Rattlesnake. They actually eat rattlesnakes and are immune to their venom. Such a shame.

I have tarantulas. Very clean, low maintenance pets. Just stick with New World, some of the bites from the Old World can mess you up for a few days.
