@letmeshowspeed did read properly i said everyone back story is sad the deference how giyuu felt about himself make it sader just like yorichi giyuu and yorichi the same personality they both felt the same way about themselves yorichi let tamoya lived just like giyuu with nezuko both felt worthless which make there story sader
Everyone’s back story is sad but Giyus just hits in a different way. He kept and kept AND KEPT losing people even once the manga ended. He lost his sister and two best friends. He’s in a stage of survivors guilt, where he blame himself for surviving.

You know, shinobu sand Giyuu backstory’s are sort of similar. They both lost there Family’s, then sisters, though tomioka did lose his best friends shinobu was fake smiling (mental health i mean) So they could get eachother i feel

His backstory was sad, but what makes it even more sad is how he thinks of himself. it is shown in the manga that he thinks he doesnt deserve to be a hashira, and he wishes he died instead of his friend or sister.
