Dressing up as Rengoku and Mitsuri most certainly does not imply that Tanjiro and Nezuko are not grateful to Giyuu for having saved their lives. It just means that they had a greater impact on their lives than Giyuu did. The flame hashira greatly influenced Tanjiro through his contagious smile, warm, honest, and selfless nature, unwavering determination to eradicate all demons, and unique ideals to set one's heart ablaze which he stood for firmly. His death left Tanjiro devastated and all the more motivated to train harder and defeat Muzan and his uppermoons in order to avenge the flame hashira and all the others who died at their hands. Nezuko taking a liking to Mitsuri is very self-explanatory if you have seen season 3 of demon slayer or read the manga.

But even tho they are absolutely great full of what our giyuu did that doesn't automatically make him the favorite 😊

Canonically, I think Tanjiro either would've chosen nobody or Giyuu. Tanjiro doesn't get to know Rengoku until the mugen train, which he then dies, causing Tanjiro to care for him even more.

I understand the people saying that Tanjiro has every right to not dress as Giyuu, but, Giyuu also has the right to be angry or frustrated since he also has human emotion and is putting his life on the line for Tanjiro.

First of all, Tanjiro can't just change what he likes, he can't pretend what he really likes, not only that, Tanjiro did respect Giyu, he apprectiate Giyus sacrifice. But Tanjiro can dress up as any of his favorite, and Giyu. He sacrificed, and protected Nezuko, but still. Giyu should talk, I mean like. It's not hard to talk. He's been called mentally ill, because of a humanoid creature, which obviously, people didn't believe. He should talk to a therapist.
