@@Rajonty You won't regret it. It's amazing! If they don't have it, look for com tam and make sure to douse everything with that nuoc cham (flavored fish dipping sauce).

I don't know why this dish isn't more popular than pho because it's so delicious. I mean, I love pho, but I love bun thit nuong more. Then again, bun thit nuong is great for summer weather whereas pho is great for colder days. :) Let's see her do a com tam, banh xeo, banh khot, bo la lot, bot chien, bo kho, bun rieu, or the fried shrimp with shredded sweet potato with all the fixings (forget the Viet name), etc. So many delicious Viet dishes out there and I didn't even list banh mi yet. LOL!

You should try com tam (broken rice), but wait until you hit the streets of Saigon. You'll love it along with all the banh mis and whatnot. So many delicious Viet dishes!

Definitely try this one as it's absolutely delicious! Try com tam, too, if they have it. Douse both dishes in the fish sauce to make them tastier. :) And if they have pho or bun bo Hue, try it. Bun rieu is a favorite, but you won't find that in most Viet restaurants unless you're in a place with lots of Viets. Same for banh khot, banh xeo, and banh cuon. All are amazing dishes if done properly.
@@isabellavu3346 I think che is a bit harder for most Westerners as they are not used to the soupy desserts and are used to cakes, cookies, pies, etc. So I think you'd have to be careful what you introduce them to first in order for them to get used to it before you go all in. :) Che Thai I think is a good intro for newer tastebuds. But personally, I'd start 'em off with something like the bananas that are wrapped in rice and are grilled first...or the fried bananas...anything like that will a coconut sauce or roasted peanuts/sesame/fresh coconut topping.

There's versions with beef, chicken, etc. My dad would make us the curried beef version when we were young. But the pork version that's grilled is the best, for sure, especially with the lemongrass. Mmmm!! Make sure yours has the fried spring roll in it, if not, order a side of that to put in it and douse your whole bowl with the nuoc cham (flavored fish sauce)...oh, wait, don't order the spring roll if you can't eat pork (unless they have a vegetarian version).
@@hangeroo2439 I think ground turkey would suffice. Since I haven't had beef or pork in decades, I don't think I would miss it. 😊
@@santolify Yeah, but you won't get ground turkey/chicken fried spring rolls in restaurants. The only way you'd get it if you made your own. And even then, it'll never taste as good as the pork version. :)
