This is the March Off and return to barracks from Horse Guards Parade, down the Mall to Buckingham Palace, and thence to Wellington Barracks near the Palace. This was the second Dress Rehearsal for the actual Jubilee Trooping the Colour which will be live on CBC next Thursday 2nd June at 5am EDT. Hope you can pick it up in Seattle. 👍🇬🇧
@@ken-u3n I couldn’t tell that it was a dress rehearsal. It looks just as perfect as the real thing, which was magnificent. God save the Queen and long live the UK! 🇬🇧
Fantastic filming. I’m staggered at the crowds lining the mall. 3 and 4 deep all the way from the citadel to the palace both sides. This is just the rehearsal people. The real thing is Thursday. I was present in the crowd at the diamond jubilee and William and Kate’s wedding. Based on the size of these crowds for a rehearsal. I’m gonna wager the crowd for the actual event (s) will be the biggest yet. Perhaps the largest crowds since VEday. I Just can not get over how many people are stood there to watch a rehearsal. Amazing.
Brilliant posting. Thank you for naming the marches. 1983 I was posted to Royal Marines Deal in Kent, home of the Band of Royal Marines, this post brings back many happy memories.
The Bagpipes... Lyrics."You're as welcome as the flowers in May to dear old Donegal" I used to sing it to my two daughters, as our Father sang it to us. Memories.
Great video, love their music choices. Love the two ladies caught at the end discussing diff size of Busby between Officer and ranks & shoes to boots 🙂
I have never consciously thought of myself as a Royalist but Her Majesty's anniversary has caused me to think and I have realised what a special Head of State we have. Compare her with others who are elected - say no more, no names no pack drill. Her integrity and example puts many other leaders to shame and I am proud of her. Some people have moaned about the cost of these celebrations, well all I can say is I wish I had been there, to see such a wonderful spectacle. Thank you Ma'am long may your reign continue.
i thought it was the interesting to see the "gap row" between the bands and the corps of drums and pipes with only the GSM and the drummer carrying the colour cover in the row. I hadn't seen that formation in previous years parades
Thankyou so much for recording and loading this . Well done . Excellent recording too. Its captured my Dad's march "Sarafand" played in its entirity too..Thats more than the BBC coverage could do, the coverage by the BBC (on June 2nd) did not included the march back down the Mall, and the waffle by a certain newsreader of Trooping the Colour was really annoying at times, (they even got my dads name wrong, calling him George Willocks! ) ..Get you facts right and also take a leaf out of the late great cricket commentator Richie Benauld ....eg " less commentary is more "
No worries at all, I am so glad you like it! Sarafand is a fantasic march. I was fortunate to record the combined bands of the household cavalry, British army band Tidworth and The Royal Yeomanry playing it 10 across in full earlier on in the month that you may like to see as well as, that was an amazing performance of the march and one of my favourites! ua-cam.com/video/g47F80oB6pg/v-deo.html
@@franceshicks5337 Don’t worry, Frances. Lee Rigby I will never forget nor the true work if the police day in, day out. “Copper” is a friendly term where I come from. Came across many of them in my work.
The Colonel of the Irish Guards is Prince William the Duke of Cambridge and as it’s the Irish Guards year to troop their colour he took the salute at the colonels review. The full Queen’s Birthday Parade takes place on Thursday 2nd June.
Happy Platinum jubilee to her royal majesty. God save the Queen. It's interesting though how the royals drive straight from church, an important church service to an alcoholic imbibing commitment. It's really a funny something to me, it's like preaching water and drinking wine, though quite literally in this case. I find it a very laughable, even disturbing something. Think of those throats while at church and what's going on in their minds remembering the bottles of alcohol waiting for them, n u will see the jist in it all
They all sound the same as these bands are from the Household Division , each service do have a distict sound, once you hear them a few times you learn to differentiate.
Awesome bands parade great 👍 music 👍👍👍👍👍👍God save the Queen 👸
And so say all of us from royalist Barry new Zealand
You can watch the Queen's first " official" Trooping the Color in 1953. It's on youtube.
Britain be proud of who you are! 🥰🥰🥰
We are! It's the useless politicians who aren't! And when I say useless, I mean USELESS! 😢
Brilliant! Something the Brits can do better than any other nation!
The wonderful magical land of the Brits! Long live the Queen!

Amazing video mate!! Paddy McGinty's goat is one of my favs!
While we have bands March in the States (Rose Bowl for instance}, the Brits are truly exceptional in their pomp. Love it.
This is what we're good at, brings in much needed revenue. God Bless Her Majesty
Absolutely amazing
On such a day and with that magnificent sound behind you there can surely be no better job than that of a Drum Major🥰
I'm so impressed. Marching and playing seriously good beat music. Wow love it! Sincerely Seattle Everett Washington State 👍👍👍👍😁🐕🦺👍🇺🇸

No problem at all, thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed! 👍
Nothing like the Massed Bands hammering down the Mall to a banging Irish tune👏
I just love the Irish guards-a real swagger
Spectacular !!!
This is the best ever seeing and hearing the marching bands along the mall fantastic
Amazing !!

🎉Me encanta, que elegancia de uniformes, impecables, sus bellísimos sombreros, un desfile muy hermoso 🇬🇧🎉
Great video! The pipe tune is “Dear Old Donegal” for reference 👍

Wonderful!
Spiffing video! Love 'John Ryan's Polka' sounds fantastic! I believe the tune played at 3:12 is "Dear Old Donegal".
Thank you very much. Yes, it’s been arranged by a musician in the Band of the Irish Guards under a medley titled “Irish Saffron” and its fantastic!!
@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere You're very welcome! It was given a very fitting name!
Great video, thanks so much.
Great Britain is. England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Fantastic Nation of Nations.
Only in Britain they do this fantastic shoe.
Impressive presentation 👏 👌
My late beloved dad always said we have the finest fighting force in the world
Great video. Awesome!
Thank you!!
God love the Brits but they do pomp and parade better than anyone. Long live Queen Elizabeth the Great!
BEAUTIFUL!

The massed bands playing McGinty's Goat lovely lilt to it
This is probably the best close up video collection I’ve seen so far. I’m impressed by how stable most of the footage is. Nice job!
Thank you very much for your kind comment!!

...so wonderful, good band music.
Just loved the music they chose for this year's Trooping the Colour! McNamara's Band!!
Can't beat Piper's and Drums 🥁🥁🥁
Far out go the Brits this is stunning.🌹🌹🌹
Well recorded mate, thanks a lot.
It’s going to be a great Troop I’m sure?! 👍🎶
I must of walked next to you going up the mall on the return sadly my video cut out halfway through
Beautiful🇧🇷👏👏👏👏👏👏

It has been like that for as long as I can remember.
Proud to be British proud of my heritage and love my military and my queen rule Britannia 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Did anybody notice prince William riding behind the. Marching bands
He's Colonel of the Irish Guards.
That’s the reason the Drum Major’s are in State dress, and, not the red tunics
Stunning❗️👏
This is true 70's Jubilee Rock!
How many millions of tourists flying to England and spending their money in London to see this? Thank the Royal Family for huge huge profits!!❣️❣️

Thank you very much for your very kind comment my country regards proud brit kevin😊
And every band member is a serving member, including active service!
David's wife is responsible: Tis Grand to be British!
❤❤❤❤❤
Did I see a copper taking a photo? Shame that so many people prefer to get a fragment on their ‘phones rather than enjoy the spectacle as it happens.
A copper??? He have to assist if u were injured on the street, like someone had to pick up LEE RIGBY remember that mate

Not another country in the world can do it
I’m no horse expert but the Duke of Cambridge’s mount looked very out of sorts?
Excuse me Constablette....you are supposed to be watching the crowds.. NOT filming the band
Thats NOT colonels review its full trooping cause drum majors are wearing state dress meaning royal were there

Unlike American parades, the bands in this parade all look the same and sound the same. Very professional, but repetitive (so British!).
american? opinion discarded
Repetitive??? I suppose, every year since 1760, but was performed before that, but not annually
They all sound the same as these bands are from the Household Division , each service do have a distict sound, once you hear them a few times you learn to differentiate.
Sloppy marching. The rows of musicians are not in straight lines.
Try and play and instrument and march at the same time pretty hard at the best of times
They'll get it right on the day.
They were better than usual
