Disney to Acquire Comic Book Giant Marvel

- The Walt Disney Company has announced an agreement to acquire Marvel Entertainment in a $4 billion cash and stock deal. The surprise agreement means the company that owns Mickey Mouse, could soon own the rights to Spiderman, Iron Man and thousands of other Marvel comic strip characters. VOA's Mil Arcega takes a look at what the deal means for Disney and the popular super hero franchise.
It was crazy & exciting looking at it because right at that time before Disney even acquired Marvel, to male audiences, Disney got Power Rangers (another great superhero oriented franchise), but now that we got Marvel, it is also a dream come true, I'm a huge of the characters & the teams & it's even great for Disney, because as I was of a fan of a Power Rangers show as well growing up to this day, they really despised owning the children's television show over the years, which is why now-a-days they return the PR franchise itself back to the original owners.
It happened and Disney Marvel acquisition proved to be a big hit . With also the help of disney marvel got the Fantastic four and x men rights back . Thank you disney for always supporting Marvel

FOX-produced X-Men Movies (since 2000)
Fox no longer had the x men rights now

disney doesn’t understand marvels legacy
To be fair, Favreau probably does but most of them do not. And I would add that Marvel as it currently exists doesn't understand their own legacy either, because they are always changing existing characters instead of bringing in new ones. My favorite superhero is Namor - but not the movie version - which is a completely new character - just ripping off the name.
If disney doesn't understand Marvel then who does ? Huh? With the help of disney Marvel gave so many hits and blockbusters . If you don't think disney is suitable for Marvel then see what warner Bros did to DC

DC entertainment is owned Warner Bros (who in turn is owned by Time Warner)... this merger, of Disney/Marvel, levels the playing field and will eventually lead to Marvel beating DC, yet again, this time in the movie industry.

im a little hesitant about all of this, but i respect and trust Stan Lee so im gonna give this Disney-marvel thing a chance. if i see Donald duck in a Marvel comic book for any reason but comical reason's im done.

I'm going 2 try 2 paint a picture & make this as SIMPLE as possible to follow. Imagine Marvel is a guy. Now Marvel is successful in his own apartment & makes good money. Disney however, is another guy who owns a mansion and has all these studios & connections. Disney comes over and offers Marvel a room in his mansion. Marvel now lives in the mansion & does all the stuff he wants 2 but now he can use all the rooms of Disney's mansion 2 his own benefit. All the studios,all the connections, etc...

Stan never owned Marvel. He was an employee, and, at this point, he had been gone from Marvel for many, many years, and had founded his own company, Pow Entertainment.

man Disney has a LOOOOT of charcaters... the only other franchise midea giant that has lot of characters is (well they much of a giant but still awesome) is Lucasfilm.lmd, and i hope to add some characters to that cmpany

And this is why in the last decade, Marvel has been so successful. Disney has been funding Marvel for better films compared to DC. However, with the Disney/Fox merger, now, hopefully Disney can show why DC is better :)
