@@Aroseisarose15 Barney at the window when he sees Andy and says what are you doing here, and then tries to cover it up by singing what are you doing? Hilarious.
Yep, put me in the love category for the fun girls. I thought they were great. "Oh Bernie, you're a scream!" On the first episode with the fun girls, when Andy and Barn meet them at the diner, the guy in the next booth cracks me up when he first hears Daphnes voice. You can see him turn his head, and he had to be thinking, "what the heck was that?". Great episode Bob! The fun girls are some of my favorite episodes.
@LightBeamer Count me in the Like category, too! The girls always thought the guys liked them as much as they liked Barney & Andy! That made it always that much more enjoyable to watch!
💞 The BEST TAGS episodes always included the Fun Girls! Jean Carson & Joyce Jameson went on to become accomplished & highly popular TV actors. Even today 2024, their appearances never get old. Thanks Jean & Joyce you are both still missed! 💐
"Convicts at Large", with Don Knotts' immortal tango with Reta Shaw, is my favorite episode, but I can't even say "Fun Girls" without laughing. Daphne and Skippy are the funniest thing to ever hit television and one of the great creations in the history of the medium. Let us all bow down to Jean Carson and Joyce Jameson.
Aneta Corsaut once commented while the Fun Girls were supposed to have angered Helen & Thelma Lou in the show, she & Betty Lynn were almost hysterical off screen.Jean Carson was a fine actress,I can't imagine Betty Rubble with that raspy voice Bea Benedaret was much better in the role.
I like the fun girls, unexpected for Andy and Bernie. Was watching an old Peter Sellers movie, “The Party”. Jean Carson was a babysitter in the movie. Thanks Bob, 🙋♂️🙏
Good comment! Then they toned down the girls quite a bit. Cindy and Penny were amazing actors.. Their characters were more appealing than Lucy and Ethel from I Love Lucy when you think of it and were every bit as talented.
Hi Bob and Everyone I love this video because I like the episodes with the Fun Girls they were so funny! Thank you for the video God Bless Much Love Everyone Jean
An old friend was a radio DJ who sometimes interviewed pop culture figures, and he'd sometimes call me in advance to get a question or two. For Jean Carson, I suggested he ask her about her rare dramatic role in "I Married a Monster From Outer Space", an unexpectedly excellent sci-fi/suspense film saddled with an exploitation title that doesn't do it justice. She loved and appreciated the question, as it's such an overlooked gem of a film, and she enjoyed talking about it.
I love the Fun Girls. I wish they were used more in later seasons. How can you not love them? Both actresses were under appreciated in my opinion. Thank you for the details about these two funny ladies.
Thanks for sharing. Streaming this got me to thinking about Daphne saying, "Shut up, Bernie! Just shut up!" Love that bit. Shawn R., Mo-Mutt Music/Sacred & Secular (and fan of classic television)
I remember Joyce was on almost everything back in the day, I've got Jean in a episode of Bilko and probably others be she just didn't seem to stand out in the same way as Joyce.
Characters like Ernest, Darlings, and the Fun Girls were nice to see every once and awhile. Glad they did not appear too often. Would have gotten tired of them. Good video, Bob!
Enjoy your channels, appreciate your hard work involved. I did want to point out that the intro/outro music in nearly all the videos is too loud or your voice over/speaking levels are too low. Again, keep up the good work. ☮️✌️🇺🇸
Next to the fun girls, Thelma Lou and Helen really looked boring and uptight. I think Barney really preferred Skippy. She was as close to Juanita as we would see on the show.
I thought the Fun Girls were hilarious. The way they affected Andy and Bernie (aka Mr. Fix It) was a scream. "Get those girls out of here". I can hear Andy now.
"Hello, doll!" The Fun Girls WERE fun, but way too much for Andy and Barn! Jean Carson was from my hometown of Charleston and the people that had gone to school with her said she was a real sweetheart, but I never got to meet her,
OPIE IS now 70. Saw that TZ ep w/Carson. Robt Vaughn said Joyce Jameson was nothing like her type cast character. She was in The Outlaw Josey Wells.Jackie Joseph is still around.
i think the fun girls were the blue print for laverene and shirley as that duo was originally seen on happy days. also, in the movie five corners with jodie foster there are two girls who i believe to be patterened after the fun girls.
Thanks for the video Bob. I may be in the minority but I never liked the fun girls. I thought the first episode they were in was a good episode but only because they were only in it for a few minutes. The other two episodes are some of my least favorite.
Fum girls were my second least favorite characters Ya feel they were thrown in to " liven the series up"; create chaos Least favorite... drum roll please.. . Earnest t Wau too obnoxious!!
I agree! Just obnoxious… fun girls and Ernest T . Too much But at least not downright mean bitch Helen Grump lol… I mean Crump. I wondered how he could want anything to do with her.. right from her first appearsnce.. comes storming in the courthouse yelling Should have kept pretty and intelligent Ellie ( Elinor Donahue
Oh Bernie!... I believe one of their episodes was also the first show for cousin goober.
Judy Judy Judy ! 😊
You're right!
The fun girls episodes are some of my favorites!! Skippy's laugh is so funny! Thanks Bob! ❤😊
convicts at large was a very fun episode to watch
I got a kick out of that one too.
@@Aroseisarose15 yeah she did a good job in that role to. They had some good character actors on that show

I was blown away when I saw "Skippy" Joyce Jameson playing the part of a prostitute in "The Outlaw Josey Wales". The Fun Girls were the BEST!!
She had a small part as a bimbo pick-up in The Apartment.
She was in two episode's of The Munsters.
Fun girls are one of my favorites
Some of my favorite Andy episodes had the "fun girls"

Sadly Jameson committed suicide at her Burbank, California home by overdosing on pills.
I like the fun girls, unexpected for Andy and Bernie.

Good morning dolll....sorry couldn't resist lol
I loved the fun girls! They were so much fun to watch 💜
Thanks Bob for this AGS F & T segment on the Fun Girls. Great trivia on two of the funniest gals ever on the show.
"Skippy" also had roles in the Perry Mason shows. Loved both those girls, truly fun! ❤
Thanks for this. Loved all the characters of TAGS but never warmed up to the Fun Girls!
The Fun Girls were the early version of Lavere & Shirley.
Good comment! Then they toned down the girls quite a bit. Cindy and Penny were amazing actors.. Their characters were more appealing than Lucy and Ethel from I Love Lucy when you think of it and were every bit as talented.
Very interesting! Loved the fun girls too!
I live a few miles from Pilot Mountain NC. There are no fun girls...trust me lol
Lol
Hi Bob and Everyone I love this video because I like the episodes with the Fun Girls they were so funny! Thank you for the video God Bless Much Love Everyone Jean
Joyce Jameson was Robert Vaughn's girlfriend in real life
Great video Bob . The Fun Girls were great together. They were cast on other TV shows . Thank you Bob Melanie and praying for you 🙏

That was a good one Bernie... I mean Bob! I didn't know that information 😳 🤔 🎉
Lol
Thank you for the video Bob, interesting information about the two ladies.
In another example of casting the same actor in a different role, Big Maude was Barney's vocal coach Eleanor Poultice.
Reta Shaw was also in 'Ghost and Mr. Chicken' w/ Don Knotts
My favourite movie! Atta Boy, Luther!@@halfwaydecent6842

Joyce had a brief appearance in Any Which Way But Loose as a waitress.

Loved the Fun Girls! Most Unusual Camera is on of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes.
I like Daphne. “Hello, Doll!”
I think Joyce Jameson was in Star Trek and in Hogan Heroes.
Joyce was on a Waltons episode where she competed in a dance marathon contest. John-Boy competed in the same contest.
Convicts at Large is one of my favorite episodes. I also love the Fun Girls episodes.
Great job Bob ❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊

Glad they did not appear too often. Would have gotten tired of them.
Good video, Bob!
I agree! but I also tired of Helen Crump's hissy fits!
Never cared for one episode of that Darlings stuff except when ETB wanted to get married.
Don't forget Earnest T. Bass. "It's me, it's me, it's Earnest T.!"

Skippy was on an episode of the Rockford Files.
Joyce Jameson was on Hogans Heroes for a couple of episodes.....
My mood would improve immensely if I ran into those two. Too many uptight people these days.
Fun girls were only on 3 times....3.
8 years...3 times????

I enjoyed the fun girls - Helen and Thelma Lou were soooo boring and - not fun - and they brought some excitement into Mayberry!
Get a set of dentures.
Shut up Bernie! Just shut up!
Did not like any of the story line’s involving Ernest T. Never watch any of his reruns.

I could not stand the fun girls. I found them extremely annoying. Just saying.
Two of the worst characters on the show
Joyce Jameson was the bar woman in The Outlaw Josey Wales
