Back in the days, I've done similar repairs myself. No big deal. Now, I just buy a new tube as it is relatively cheap. Too much is riding on the tires to risk a tube failure. Just a hint for the guy in the video: Put a few grains of sugar on the vulcanizing plate. Once sugar melts the vulcanizing process is complete. Sugar melts at the same temperature.
I did this as a kid in the 60's at my dad's gas station. We used Tech and Rema brand material. The valve stems were bendable and came in a cardboard triangle with the valve cores pointing inward. I still have the electric press. It had a removable center piece that you'd take out to put the stem in. Otherwise, leave it in for flat repairs. We also had a hoop with a crowfoot that would fit over the bead so we could press hot patches inside the tire. Light it with a match and sniff the smoke.

I just want to know how did he heat up that patch!? I think they didn't show that step. You can clearly see that the patch is burning hot when he puts water on it to cool it down after he takes it out if the vice..
Хорошие мастера, в России, так же вулканизируют вентиля на горячую. Аккуратности бы вам, а то в пыль бросаете камеры. И пальцами меньше лапать. Хотя горячая вулканизация много прощает.
All these repair jobs on these type channels with old school ways all use those same shears/siccors which you see them making on other similar videos!!
Também troquei muitos bicos de camaras de ar, desde moto, Lambreta, carros, caminões, tratores, e até de Avião monomotor aqui em São José dos Campos SP, Brasil.
It is amazing what they do, pure craftsmanship, however I noticed that they are breathing rubber dust, and this is happening to all those small businesses, they are sacrificing their lives to make a living (or dying).
Вот меня удивляет что человек занимается этим профессионально, это его основная деятельность, он этим зарабатывает на жизнь. Но он всё равно делает это на коленке и мажет клей пальцем. Разве это удобно? Как то неорганизованно, не культурно.
*Hello everyone. interesting tire repair. I used to glue the wheels on my bike as a child. now there are almost no cameras. good luck to all*
At first I was afraid of repaired inner tubes but that work is solid. Maybe even better than factory. 💪

Funny how things that were done in the USA in the past are being done elsewhere now. Keep up the good work.
Labour costs are just too high in the USA to fix things, yours is a throwaway culture now.
Legal liability and safety regulations have eliminated the need for reusing parts.
I think the exact same thing sometimes. I guess that’s what becoming an industrial country looks like.
Nobody wanted to do this kinda jobs anymore. You think the guy want to patch tire all day if he have choices?

We had a little bench mounted unit, you fitted a small alloy "fusible link" into it and when that melted, it cut the power and your repair was cured.
The thing is they probably don't have the shister lawyers like we do, that are looking for any excuse to throw someone under the truck
@@royfrank7101 in most country's the labor would cost far more than a new tube these days
