Hi there! Thanks for the video, it's been really helpful! I've just started working at an English primary and I take a year 1 group out every now and then for phonics. Only problem is I'm Scottish! Because our sounds are slightly different I don't know whether to change my accent for words like "book" with an "uh" sound, which I would normally pronounce as an "oo" the same as "look". I'm in two minds as I think it would be good for them to hear a different accent but I also don't want to make them all sound Scottish :'). Thanks!
Hi there Starbuck. I love your videos. Can I just check with “ow”. I was under the impression we would pronounce “ow” as in the word cow, owl, town in phase 3. Can you please clarify
Hi Amy, in this video I was just introducing the sounds, in RWI ‘ow’ as in snow is taught and also later ‘ow’ as in cow is taught as an alternative spelling of ‘ou’.
