Would it be possible for you to create a video or video series that outlines the process of making color carbon prints? I would appreciate a comprehensive guide that covers everything from capturing the photographs with filters to producing the tri-color carbon print. Thank you for considering this request!
I haven't made tri-colour carbons for quite a few years, since preferring the look of tri-colour gums. I would have to retool, and reteach myself in order to make a comprehensive guide. But... never say never!
I had already made the exposures, and removed the strap on the bellows that keeps it taut. Take a look at the 1:00 mark. At the top of the bellows, you can see the unconnected strap.
Здравствуйте, посмотрев, Ваше видео, я вспомнил об одном химике и фотографе Сергее Михайловиче Прокудине-Горском, он тоже делал цветные фотографии, более ста лет назад, в Российской империи.
Hi Andy, Reminds me of my old colour separation days back in the '70s. I am wondering what filters you were using on the front lens to generate these images? Or am I completely wrong with the process
Love the content. Fascinating process. Could have done with the background music about half that loud so I can hear you but not have so much additional.
Thank you! From pre-shrinking and sizing, to laying down the final blue layer, a couple of days. I have made a print in a day, but only because I already had the paper prepped beforehand. 🙂
Sadly, no. I was a subscriber since the mid 90's. That magazine taught me a lot. I have many editions going back to its first season, 1979. Contemporaries contributed articles to it, such as John Sexton, Phil Davis, Howard Bond, Bruce Barnbaum, and others. Digital started to take over its pages in the very early 2000's. It died about 12 years ago, or so, like so many great photo magazines. I want to go through all of them (too many!) keep the good ones, and recycle the rest.

Thank you, wonderful video!
What pigments do you use for each color? Please write the specific composition of the emulsion of each color.
Daniel Smith Pthalo PB15:3, Quin Rose PV19, Indian Yellow.
Looking at that bellows sag and the position of the lens, I don't know how the image is getting to the top of the negative.

Cool, thanks!

Yes, he was a pioneer of colour photography.

Red 25, Green 58, Blue 47. I show more in a previous video, where I was practicing with 4x5 film... ua-cam.com/video/4v8z-VHQTFM/v-deo.html
Very good work Andy👋

Thanks for letting me know! Duly noted.
Good work! With all the time waiting for the paper to dry between steps, how long does it take in real time? About a week?
Thanks for posting this!

That worked out well !!! 🙂
Beautiful
Hi Andy, how do you clean the brushes and surface each time they were applied with chemicals?
I clean up with a sponge, using water and a bit of Vit C in it. I have to admit, I'm going through a lot of Vitamin C, but it's worth it.
@@analogueandy8x10 thanks Andy for the tip. But did you try kitchen detergents or simple soda before?
@@PatAcct I just used kitchen cleaner in a spray bottle.
I don't think kitchen cleaner alone will neutralise dichromates.
@@analogueandy8x10 the vitamin C tip is very appreciated.
and do they still publish this zine "Darkroom Techniques"?

@@analogueandy8x10 perhaps you can wait before disposing of the back issues?
Hope that I could take a look one day.
@@analogueandy8x10are these digitized anywhere? Darkroom stuff of this level is a bit out of my price range but i love learning about stiff like this
