  • Slow speed u turns on a motorcycle and other slow speed maneuvers don't have to be feared. Practice on your motorcycle and learn the right techniques. There is no reason to pre-load RPM's as raising your rpm's will burn your clutch. Using the rear brake will wear brake pads and heat rotors. Learn to control your clutch and throttle with the right techniques. Head and eyes are important, sitting high in the saddle is important, but there is absolutely no reason to raise rpm's and wear your brake pads and heat rotors to master making slow speed u turns, figure 8's and such. The reason so many do is because students are taught by many who don't have total control of clutch and throttle to only have to use very low RPM's, and no rear brake. The rear brake should be used, but there is a time and place, but not for making simple 18 foot u turns in dealership parking lots or repeatedly practicing slow speed maneuvers, its just not necessary to put the wear and tear on your 35k Harley. Police motor officers may use excessive braking and rpms' because they do not own the motorcycle and a police motorcycle is only around 20K not nearly the cost of a CVO, Street Glide or Road Glide. That is why you dont see motor officers riding those motorcycles in competitions. If you want to protect your motorcycle from being dropped, check out motorcycledropguards.com which are used and endorsed by Ride Like A Pro and also used on the Harleys on the motorcycles used to train motor officers all over the U.S. by Harley and TEEX A&M.

I want to master my bike like that. Going in a circles makes me dizzy. Slow speed exercises are so much fun though. 😊

First time I waived at my neighbor I almost popped the clutch.
Second time my iron horse felt like a bronco .
    Now I just nod. 😂

Seems like every one of these videos like this I see police seats on them. How much does the seat help you?

Hello, sitting high in the saddle puts you center of gravity, but it can be done on a regular road king or street glide just the same. Though i can still do it, I will say its harder for me without the police saddle due to my left arm being 2.5 inches shorter than my right arm and i cant rotate my left arm. So going full lock to the right and controlling the clutch is a little more work for me so i always keep a police saddle on my bikes except for my goldwing.

Wow! Pure artistry! Thank you for making this video. Question: from about 1:09 to 1:22, after "Remember to Ride Friendly, Wave at Your Neighbors," about how slow were you going? I honestly practice every day before I ride for about 15 minutes (U-Turns, Figure 8s, Slow Race, and Slow Speed Weave" and my sweet spot is 6mph between 1400 and 1700 RPMs. While in the turn, I find that anything slower and I feel my '21 Street Bob may drop. I'm able to bail out by releasing the clutch beyond the friction zone, but would like to be able to go slower than 6mph in a turn. Thank you again! ✌

@@motorofficertraining Thanks a million for responding! I’m gonna practice that this weekend bc based on your info, my fear is irrational (your bike weighs at least 150lbs more than mine). If you’re able to run lower RPMs, then I need to get over my fear. Thanks again, sir. Really love your videos bc they’re all action, no talk. 👏🏼🤘🏼

I'm new to the channel and a new rider. Does this work on any kind of bike? Also how can I contact you
It would be awesome to see a video with these techniques being done on a sport bike or a 125 delivery type motorcycle.
