- Im starting this series on the wonderful 1/96 USS Constitution kit, well into the build process... All of my previous videos showcasing the progress were lost when my original channel was deleted.

I built this many years ago. Took a few weeks. Came home from work and found my wife's new cat destroyed it before i could get it into a custom glass case. Might try another one.
Good luck... I do a little on it from time to time. Im currently on the masts.
I love that ship, I have tried building it a couple of times in the past and came close to finishing it once but life got in the way and never got one done. Now the place where I live would not accommodate such a large piece. I love sailing ships but lack the room for them! 🏴☠
at the moment im sure where im going to put it when/if I finish it. just working on it is an adventure in making space.
I've built the Revell 1/96th Constitution so many times I can do it from memory. I cheat now and use "after market" decks and guns...but it's still a fun build. I've visited the USS Constitution, read all the books and still, it's a fun build. With all that...I'm still never sure exactly which version I'm building...1800 or 1807 or 1815. I've built it as the USS President and the USS United States...and still it's a fun build. Everyone should give it a try at least once. The directions are pretty good, the moldings are okay...it's one of those kits you build as you go...if you think about it as building all at once you'll never finish it.
I have enjoyed build even though I work on it off and on. Ive slowed down a little as I have found a love for wooden kits but I still tinker on her from time to time.
Imagine the number of hours that were necessary to design and build the molds for this detailed Revell model.
especially considering its age...
Be Careful rigging the masts.... they're loaded with tie-offs and are VERY easy to find out of alignment side-to-side or forward to back .... I had that problem when I built the model... it would be better if the upper masts were metal, as they're particularly bad because the plastic is small-diameter.... just watch the alignment as you go so you won't have problems at the end....
