This popped up in my recommended today, Nov 16, 2022, exactly 20 years later. Crazy to think how the world has changed in 20 years, and how one thing that has not changed is the way these songs continue to connect with people. Music is incredible that way.
No one can delay a song as well as Jules does and make it sound good. I love how he lengthens the “it” on is this it and it still fits in time with the song, it’s like his little shtick
Bobby lee said in a podcast that after the concert the strokes were past out on the floor of his dressing room from the drugs they took from a bowl that Bobby left out.
I saw the strokes live around 2004/5ish. Julian Casablancas is quite easily the most effortlessly cool person I have ever witnessed in my entire life. I wasn’t even a big fan at the time, he just had a presence that I’ve never seen before or since
@@sushmag4297 difficult to describe… he was a rockstar without trying to be a rockstar, he was stylish without trying to be stylish, he owned the set without any gimmicks or flashy shit, he was just… cool. No pretence, no bs, just fucking cool
Man I remember watching on basic cable in middle skool and seeing Bobby Lee trailblazing representing Asian Americans back then. Takes me back to simple days.
Sonia S I mean what do you expect them to do? I would assume they don’t go to dancing classes, they’re just having fun and the band is too, that’s what matters
What kind of dancing did you expect exactly? This isn't EDM or Reggatone so it's not like they could go buck wild unless everyone was really hamming it up. 😆
Bobby lee introducing them made this performance even better
Papaya
Tito bobby is a true music fan.
Always have more respect for him just cause he's a big music nerd
Yessss
Indubitably
Before you find out he raped a little girl in Mexico

Lazzzyyyy lyrics 🙂
Doesn’t matter how much my music tastes change over time - I always come back to these guys
Fucking right!
when everyone got up on the stage and started dancing I thought I was watching a clip from Barney oh. my god
HAHAHAHA LMAO
I saw this live on TV. Can't believe it was that long ago.
Who would’ve thought this band would become one of the greatest bands of the 2000s & onward
I mean, they’ve been pretty big since they came out
Eh ... this was their high point.
Everyone probably considering it was the most hyped debut album of the last 20 or so years
They have album after album of amazing stuff.
Not really. First album was a classic, 2nd was 75% classic, the rest are average.
Bobby lee said in a podcast that after the concert the strokes were past out on the floor of his dressing room from the drugs they took from a bowl that Bobby left out.
what podcast? do you have the clip
@Name Face are you just promoting your music ?
@Name Face how about no

he's so plastered here lmfao
Had no clue madtv had music guests on their show, and they got the strokes. Even crazier
@Name Face Fuck off and stop spamming every comment with the same reply!!
2:42 they held his hand up the stage can you even begin to imagine if that ever happened to you
Fab was really hitting those drums with all he had lol

What about his mannerisms were cool? I've never seen the Strokes live.

The vocal chain on the lead singers voice was meticulously crafted to sound gritty but not too hollow. Props to the engineer who made that chain.
Word!!
What the fuck ? Is that Bobby Lee ? I never imagine my two worlds would collide like this
20 years ago already. Where the hell does the time go?
First saw them i thought this band really embody NEW YORK. The sound, the look, attitude. Real hipster slacker shit
Man I remember watching on basic cable in middle skool and seeing Bobby Lee trailblazing representing Asian Americans back then. Takes me back to simple days.
LMAO i did not expect to see Bobby Lee
I miss those days
Hello 2002!
I wore this album out.
@Name Face I didn't know Bob Dylan wrote that song.
The single was taken off the American version of is this it right after the 911 attacks. I saw them five times on this tour.
wh... what the actual fuck ? where's the solo ????
Lol 3:19 the rest of the band all alone while Julian is surrounded by girls.
When those people got up on the stage, that didn't seem natural at all.
was that fuckin bobby lee
That’s what I said lol
Bobby Lee started on Mad TV. Check out some of his old skits, absolutely hilarious.
@@ChrundleTheGreat1917 he started at the La Jolla comedy store actually
How could they cut NYC Cops solo?
3:19 Me on the left
Julián must be so wasted like always
Julian has been sober for 20 years I think
Ladies Love Julian
Bobby lee?
I just wanted to be one of the strokes.. now look at the mess you made me make
3:37 🔥🔥3:30
Oh oh Hot dog Strokes
The dancing crowd kills the mood that The Strokes give off.
The Abel I caught second hand embarrassment
Na it was dope
it was cool. even cooler that Julian told them to get up on stage
It’s cool because they are actual fans of the Strokes
You trippin
Lol Julian is a female magnet
@Name Face sure thanks
Not anymore it seems lmao
< 3: Julian.

It’s funny that madtv was funnier and had better music than SNL.
Bobby Lee!
Quit doing this to me Julian
TITO BOBBY
Is this it?
As someone from LA (where MAD TV filmed), I'm so disappointed in my fellow angeleno's lame dancing on that stage. And crowding around Julian- WTF.
Sonia S I mean what do you expect them to do? I would assume they don’t go to dancing classes, they’re just having fun and the band is too, that’s what matters
Thank God your lame ass wasn't there.
why you hatingggg

What it looks like to be talented musicians on heroin
You can't do heroin and play music. Fool.
Nope. Julian is sober and has been for 20 years or so
Julian is just drunk likely, he has said that he drank a lot back then.
The songs are great, but they're a hard band to like.
@Name Face no thx
That dancing is embarassing. I can't watch any more. Sorry.
