I just found this audition. Ur comment was up top and i thought before he began to sing that u were reaching. This guy has an incredible voice. Unfortunately great timeless voices like that arent valued in todays music. So unfortunate. With the right songs and writers he could have been a michael bolton or something equivalent. Either way he has an incredible voice
He is absolutely incredible...that emotional crying voice, dressed in jeans, good looking and extremely likeable. He's a born superstar!

I know this guy didn’t become a big success, but I love this performance. His voice was amazing.
He had a really good run in Vegas or something along those lines. Dont actually remember the details right now, but it went for a long time as I recall. One would hope he saved, and is either trying to produce music himself for fun or just living the good life. :)
He cut two albums and plays a lot on the Mississippi coast , he is great 👍, just wish he'd made it bigger than he did. I have both of his early CD's 👍
Well, he won this season of AGT, got the $1 Million cash prize, released a few albums, and still tours across America performing music for everyone! So he did great!

The first time I saw Michael Grimm on AGT, his amazing voice hit my heart and soul - I knew he was a sure winner. This is an artist/songwriter the whole world should know and hear.

Yeah thats why these shows never really made sense to me after only a couple seasons; and they make even less sense these days. Some of the "auditions" now on many talents shows are better then previous WINNERS on "got talent, X-factor, The Voice"

It is now 8 years later and it still stays with me. I decided to see if it was on UA-cam. And here I am again .. with the same chills and lift inside along with a little weeping. Love Wins !

I just came back from his show here in Sun City Summerlin outside Las Vegas. I felt like I saw Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Gregg Allman, and Otis Redding reincarnated...such a great voice with so much soul! Nikki Logan, his backup singer, also sang 2 songs, and the band came alive, and she owned the stage, and put on a fantastic, sexy, show...almost stole the show...unforgettable! Awesome! Loved it!
Ray Charles was an American treasure. Michael Grimm is the guy to keep the legacy of a musical great alive in a younger generation.
Love his music. I bought his first CD after he won AGT and enjoyed every song on it. My car was broken into and my favorite CD's were stolen, his, among them, and I am still trying to replace all of them. He has an amazing voice that reaches into your soul .

I remember sitting and watching this exact episode. When Michael started singing I got goosebumps/chills all over from hearing him sing. I've gone back through the years and rewatched as many of the video's of Michael on AGT that I can from time to time. His voice is one that I will absolutely love till my dying day. I actually have in my will for one of his songs to be played at my funeral. Keep on singing Michael because God has definitely blessed you with an amazing gift. God Bless you.

The advice Howie gave Michael to "step it up" I think was a bit misguided. There are many of us who just love beautiful music and if we wanted to see someone strutting around on stage and going through all sorts of gyrations we would go to Vegas. I attended a George Jones concert and he said right up front that he hoped we didn't come expecting a lot of smoke and mirrors and wanting him to dance around. He said, "I just sing". Guess what. That's all we wanted him to do. Same thing with Michael Grimm. His voice is good enough that he doesn't have to do a bunch of garbage with it to get people to come and see him. I guess I worded that incorrectly. They wouldn't just come to SEE him. They would come to HEAR him. I hope Michael is playing much larger venues now and is making a good living and can help his grandma. What a genuinely nice man.

He qualified his advice by saying "next time" and that he wants to see artists evolve. I understand and agree with you; I don't need showmanship when there's plenty of talent. - but maybe HM believes that some versatility would be helpful to him in his career.
38 years ago I heard that song for the first time in Middletown, Ohio . I came to Houston Texas , I could not remember the name of the song , every now again I remember the music inside of me . My cousins use to play it on his guitar with friends. He die shortly after I got to Houston Gone so soon . He had a accident, he was not even 50. Today 9/28/2022 I am watching this young man AGT, he performed so incredible lovely . He brought memories, and I learn the name of the song YOU DO NOT KNOW ME . I am glad this young man won AGT .

Was lucky enough to stumble across him in Las Vegas walking back to NYNY while he was playing outside. He instantly caught my attention. Watched him for the next two hours play on Brooklyn Bridge. Then went back to watch him the following year. And met him. Front row seats in TimesSq bar with a handful of people.
I fell in love with this man when I seen this!

Here's the thing with me, if an artist can sit in front of an audience of any size with "just his guitar and a stool" as Howie stated and captivate that audience then he or she is very talented. Where is it written that a musician has to have a massive band, so many stage lights flashimg that imduces siezures in the audiance, 1000 amps and speackers, half naked dancers and so many other things that it detracts from the artists performance. If I wanted to see something like that, I'd rather go to the circus. Some of the best concerts I've ever gone to were those with just the artist, a minimal back up band and his or her instrument and their voice. Just my opinion.
