Options: 1. Rayse is lying (i could see this, especially since gav was making some big progress on how to kill odium) 2. Stormfather is in a… new state? Since bonding Gav? Idk man
An option I see for this. It was the Stormfather's lengthy test period of gavilar, the same way the Sibling used to test her potential bondsmiths. Afterall the sibling-navani interaction was kinda sorta the same as the SA5 prolouge.

I'm always amazed at how Sanderson can write so many things just right to makes us glance over them if we aren't looking specifically for them. It's always like, "wait a minute, I know I read that book, more than once, but, did that really happen?". Great series Steve!
You’re videos are so phenomenal man! I’ve enjoyed this series from the start watched each of em a couple of times. Excited for your future endeavors brother
Huh, I had forgotten about the lost sailors with light in their pockets (~7:08). In the context of The Lost Metal, that goes from neat little myth to very worrying...
The first time I heard the Tien thing, it was one of the most shocking reveals of my cosmere history. I hadn’t even thought about who that bonded person that was killed could be; it’s even more heartbreaking about what his truth was. I have a lot of younger siblings, so I always felt really strongly about that part of Kaladin’s backstory.
his scene in Sunlit with Hoid makes me so immensely empty and sad. to see Hoid speechless, to see him feel for what he’s put onto sig, man that got me.
Spoiler for tress At 19:35 a spore eater doesnt actually seem that connected to the soulcasters, as the soulcaster turns the FLESH into the thing the soulcaster is attuned to, instead of being in the blood & draining water and keeping the host alive against physical harm/death. Afterall the soulcaster ailment doesnt really offer any protection.
He had bonded a cryptic and said at least the first ideal because of a deep seated belief that he wasn't a good person; he felt he was living a lie by everyone seeing him as "a ray of sunshine." wob.coppermind.net/events/352/#e10278
I thought that the reincarnated and their children in Warbreaker look how they think they should look like, so could probably shapeshift a lot if they worked at it
Is “spoilers for everything” all of oathbringer or the the entire series? I have read up to oathbringer as well as mistborn era 1 and warbreaker.. can I still watch this video?
Spoilers for everything. This series talks about minor connections from Arcanum Unbounded novellas, both eras of Mistborn, Warbreaker, White Sand, literally all the things. Usually not too story ruiningly major, but I'd suggest waiting.
In Warbreaker, Vasher and Vivenna talk about how he can transform his body. He then goes on to mention she has the ability too, which is why she can change her hair (royal locks) but mentioned it takes great practice. Based on the timeline and her growth, I’m assuming she’s practiced hence the ability to change in appearance?
Dunno if this is confirmed or not on WOB, but spoilers for Dragonsteel (brandon's BYU thesis novel that is no longer canon) further on: I have read bits from Dragonsteel as I live in utah and have been able to read it. I know thats basically committing adultery to some people in the community, but hey, i was curious. Topaz is literally Hoid's real name. I havent finished Dragonsteel, but i can tell you that Topaz IS Hoid/Cephandrius so that fits really well considering how the Avatar of Autonomy addresses him.
I've read most of it as well (yay locals!), and I know he's called Topaz thoughout that whole book, but I believe that's more of a title or pseudonym and not his actual name. One of his earliest aliases is Cephandrius, and he gets called Midius my Ash at the end of Oathbringer, but we haven't gotten confirmation on his *actual* name yet.
Has anyone else noticed that knife appearing and disappearing from one owner to the next? It's like a knife with broken Connection >=) I think it first is shown in secret history. A certain thief has it when he ascends with a wash of purified connection.
I don't think there is an opposite to illumination, as you said, for the unmade. spoilers: ROW- Robonial was going to "unmake" the sibling. Id say the Midnight mother was a creation spren who odium mixed his soul with while unmaking it. Like cream in a coffee.
I can't help but think Sanderson would have corrected all the pronunciation of people, places, things for the audio books. So I take how they're read by Kramer and Reading as how he intended things to be pronounced. In nearly everything I watch people pronounce cities and people differently than the audiobook. Throws me off. That just me?
As a print reader, I know I pronounce things wrong. But also, according to Brandon, it doesn't really matter? faq.brandonsanderson.com/knowledge-base/how-do-you-pronounce-_________s-name/
Interestingly enough, WOB shows no results for the terms Hoid and Stoneward. It actually seems like it’s the order where the least number of people are interested in it.
It’s pronounced like tam-ber because she’s named after a musical term. In music, Timbre is the amount of roundness, called “light” or “darkness” of the tone. If you listen to music, OPERA singers have a REALLY DARK timbre, while most pop artists have a BRIGHT timbre. If you want an example of a SUPER bright timbre, Albuquerque by Weird Al is about as bright as you can go.
Ah, a Supernatural fan I see.
Glad someone got it!
I didn't catch that the first time through the video 🤣

Invested pockets? I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Tocar el tamber (tember, proper yet English pronunciation off) means " ring the bell." Ergo all sound/song ref in SA.
