@@SquidmarMiniatures years for days
I see you did the maths.
I just got beanboozled, I came to the comments to type something witty about the time discrepancy, until I started to type it out. 69k 420 days...... fuck you squidmar
Yeah Think they miscounted ALOT!!!
When you finish it, can you make a 10-min atmospheric standalone video that highlights all the various parts of the diorama with extended shots? It is hard to take it all in with faster shots/transitions. Amazing work
I’d love a VR video that takes us through the diorama to see it as if we were in the different areas!
I'd love a mad scientist to shrink me down so I can just live there.
No
Slow the playback and pause. :)
Yes please!
I love how you do not shy away from bright colors like aqua, turquoise, and magenta and still make it look weathered and decayed
The attention to detail and the obvious fun you both are having while completing this massive diorama is inspiring. Can't wait for the final **Grand Reveal**
that's what I was thinking! they work so well together that it looks effortless
I never jumped into a UA-cam video so quickly
Same
Same
Same
the presentation has really improved over last year or so. appreciate all the effort that you guys put into not only the hobby itself but also the editing etc
it's looking awesome.. and maybe a little late for this suggestion but.. what about some salvaged weapons from the suits etc. set up as a rudimentary defence system?
I’m glad we finally learned how the manta crashed. RIP Tau, and RIP seagulls.
Yay more manta videos! love what you guys created
How is the monitor still functioning, why is there English on the screen, why would the first deck be corroded and overgrown if it's not exposed to the elements, wouldn't the fallen Tau inside be preserved (dead but still somewhat fleshy like beef jerky) and lastly, Wouldn't the surviving Tau have buried their dead?
Asking the real questions.
The project is great with amazing attention to detail but the damage report monitor was done with a minor flaw. It was done in the English written language instead of the fantasy T’au written language.
the joke would have been more more private then...
The existance of the dead tau in the ship would mean that they are colleagues of the lone survivor, who didnt want to bury them. But reasonable, Jeff the Co-Pilot never cleaned the coffee machine
Fkn Jeff. Steve ain't messing with that shit.
Would be nice if you will make a extra long reveal for the last episode. i really want to see all the details on the finished diorama!
I cant wait for you guys to make a warlord titan diaroma 😂
In all seriousness the manta is wicked awesome and I cant imagine how weird of a feeling it will be for you when it's done
70 000 days worth of work?! This project is truly epic... awesome work as always!
Been working on it for 190 years
It may be a joke rather than a typo: subjective time... to quote user @A Rehtman :
< ah I see, the joke went over your head
It’s 69 420
You know, the sex number and weed number? >
Awesome video. Really hoping the grand reveals can be longer. This has been an awesome series and the finish line is insight. Keep up the good work.
I guess it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the lone survivor to leave his buddies in the cockpit when he buried the others :) Anyway, awesome work as always!
I thought the same, maybe the Tyranids creep in the abandoned ship and he didn’t manage to get all the crew out and buried 🤷♂️
Would have been cooler if he wrote: survivors 4 so 3 died after the crash and the last one buried them
Yeah I guess they're doing it just because they wanna use at least couple of those parts.
Maybe they were just assholes or something so he left them there.
If you want to try out the Squidmar Kolinsky miniature paint brushes we use in this video you can do so following this link:

Realy nice work, both of you! I have watched every video until now, it is a great diorama. Well more than one.
Have you considered to use acrylic markers with a brush tip for free lining text tho?
Hi! I really like your content but... your video edits man... they are awful :/
I know that you want to make those nice and cool videos where the camera shifts every time the beat kicks in - but honestly, it is almost impossible to inspect your crafts when you are constantly shifting the camera to an new angle. Especially when you splits the screen and have multiple things shown in each corner and only show it for 2 seconds. It is almost impossible to get a full view of all the details of your crafts. It is really a shame, considering how detailed your crafts are and how talented you are.
If you look at other people who do these panorama crafts, you can see how they all use gliding cameras to show the viewer how detailed everything is and how they did it. They also keep certain things in focus which is really satisfying. I hope you will consider improving your videos . Great content! Just my honest opinion.
Lucas has got guns! 💪🏻
det går ju inte att handla av dig för du behagar ju inte ens o svara
@@kvarntobben hej tobben, har du mailat mig via min hemsida?
For that battlesuit you have hanging on the rail, would you consider modifying its arms so that it looks like its limp, with the arms at an angle as they are in the base mini it looks active rather than old and falling apart.
Also the survivor did bury most of his comrades so there should be a reason he didn't bury these last 5 guys right? maybe something heavy fell on them or he couldn't undo their restraints?
I thought the same about burying his comrades, the only explanation is that the survivor hated Jerry and didn't bury him
Yeah I also laughed at the idea that he hated these guys in particular and didn't bury them like the rest
Jerry who sat next to him on the ship and the co pilot Jeff were real assholes
@@SquidmarMiniatures Or cloacas, as it were
This just keeps getting better and better! The detail inside is astounding, especially as most people won’t see it.
Can I donate you a hammerhead or Devilfish to go inside that hangar bay? :)
The Manta comes with two of each as well as as however many suits fit on that rail in the middle and the drones.
The only part of the crew you can't use are the fire warriors since all of them are sitting down,
everything else are GW plastic models.
This is what happens when you really mess up those disembark rolls
Not sure if anyone noticed but the moaning sound at 9:56 when the glue is squirting was high quality editing🤌
I kinda wanna know what happened to the Ethereal there... seems to be nowhere in the diorama, which seems odds considering how important they would be. At the very least there should be a fancy grave or something?
Your dedication to this project, getting every single piece to a phenomenal standard is just awe-inspiring. It is just an insane pleasure to watch your team continue this long running project.
I hope this goes down in Warhammer history.
6:55 Who knew the Tau actually speak Low-Gothic and not T'au... 🤔😋
Is Lucas a partner in the channel now or is he just an employee?
Feels like he's a staple of the channel that should be fully invested in it.
If not, I would encourage him to branch out on his own. I think most of this audience would watch his painting and diorama videos.
Wow! So you got almost 150 people working 24/7 from june 10th 2021 up until now on this project? PROPS!
Shouldn’t you not touch a miniature so often, cause the coulours get grinded out etc? Or is it such high quality painting or is it extra sealed like with Acryl?
There is a big thing that i really dont like. If any Tau would have survived, they cleaned up the ship with the dead bodies to live in there. No one would let dead mates rot in there and sleep outside in a tent/log cabin or something. The ship is their biggest fortress on this planet.
This looks really good. Personally I would have looked up some aviation ECAS messages to put on the screen.
The seagull was a nice touch though.
im curious about this one. you always make some awesome miniature every week, what i wonder are, are you make exhibition or gallery of your miniatures ? if it so, then where ? because i think your works are good enough to be showcase on gallery or something ngl.
anyway, good job ! i feel inspired everytime watch your works.
Damage Report should be in T áu. But in all great work as always.
Shouldn't the dammage report on the screen be written in Tau language rather than english?
69,420 days of me an accountant how did they get to that number. About 40 seconds later ohhhhh
Looking sick dudes! Just started a deathguard army and has taken weeks to paint cant imagine not only painting this but going into so much detail for this project.
While really cool looking, watching you basically destroy so many things to make it all look crashed and broken and abandoned etc, makes me wanna cry as someone that never has money to spend on the hobby lol.
Might you guys play an altered game of kill Team on the manta diorama? Just an idea
Probably too late to the party but now that you've made such a terrific job on the interior wouldn't it be cool to have a huge hole in the fuselage so that you can look inside?
So glad to see this. My son and I have been following this series since the beginning, eagerly awaiting the final result. Amazing work gentlemen.
Wondering why the Tau have an English OS... ;)
Actually... The biggest miniature that GW ever produced is the space marine statue outside the headquarters of Games Workshop inNottingham :P That was even a tricky question in one of white dwarfs contests.
It's not actually a miniature because they have to be be actually smaller and in proportion to what it is a model of, that space marine is by all definitions not a miniature
300 000 views already...and you deserve every last one of those !
The level of details you guys do is insane! It is amazing to see the progress you made from the very first manta video. Keep up the good work.
This series has been absolutely fantastic, just a joy to watch. I eagerly wait each new episode and I am already dreading the end, when I will have no choice but to go back to the beginning and watch the all over again!
You really should bring this thing to golden demon. Zou guys are Soooo amazing
That survivor is a jerk for not burying all his squad mates and just leaving them rot inside the ship.
His squad is definitely buried, the other guys are from other squads
Just managed to catch this before I go on a the first plane of two today, hopefully I don't crash and end up like the poor fire warrior in this dope as hell diorama
Only thing i feel that is missing is a crashed tank some where as it would of been in the hanger bay or fallen out somewhere.
not abad idea :D
Looks really great! You pay so much attention to the background and „story“ of the diorama, I simply have to point this out: why are there still dead fire warriors inside the ship, if the survivor obviously buried his comrades in a cemetery? ;-)
69420 days? even 69420 hours is not correct, thats still 7,9 years even calculated betwen 3 people its 2,63 years...
but what an amazing project love it!
Great modell, sadly a little lore error. All the names for Tau equipment, Manta, Devilfish, Hammerhead, XV-9, XV-8, and so on, are imperial designations, like Nato codenames for soviet equipment. There is no reason for the Tau to print them on their own vessels, or even use the names at all. So the lettering in the Crisis hangar makes no sense.
Sadly only few of Forgeworld exclusive stuff has known original Tau names (Ta'unar, Y'Vahra).
Have you checked out Moonbreaker, it went live to play today and the painter is surprisingly accurate imo.
Amazing work as always
I love your videos so much, but I wish they where longer. You guys put all this effort in, just to condense it into 11 minutes. Maybe you can do a longer video going into depth about this project, covering anything you may have missed. Either way I’ll keep coming back!
Appears that his grandfather started this build and his sons have been working on it ever since. Just for reference, 10,000 days is equal to about 28.5 years I believe. So that's quite a long build.
Stormraven gunship is as big as I'm willing to go. Big enough to satisfy my "I want something big to paint today" mindset, but not large enough that I'll need to mortgage the house to buy another.
It looks awesome and the painting is top-notch, but... as I view it, I can't help coming up with questions and confusion about the context of bits of it.
All the plants and moss on the troop deck looks great... but as soon as it becomes obvious that there is still a roof on it, it stops making sense. How are all those plants growing there with the roof blocking any light from getting to them? If you had left the top off and included debris and broken structural spars showing the roof had been torn away, it would make more sense, but having the roof on it (and only removable like a gaming terrain piece) begs some questions.
In a similar manner, the dead tau warriors are a nice touch but... they look too peaceful. What killed them? They were in a crash violent enough to kill them, yet the impact left them sitting perfectly upright, and didn't even knock the helmet out of the one's grasp, so it's still carefully balanced on his lap? They're too upright and undisturbed to have been killed by the impact. Maybe fire from something rupturing in the mechanisms of the vessel... but there's no scorching visible. I guess it could have been a toxic gas released from some high-tech system on the ship? Except, the battlesuit/ robot on the lower deck obviously suffered severe impact damage. And obviously something hit hard enough to break off a wingtip. So... what exactly happened to this ship? The signs from the different parts of the model are not consistent.
Dioramas should tell a story. I think you had a good start on that, and the execution (the painting and weathering) were spot on, but I feel like you maybe skipped a bit of the planning stage regarding deciding what story the diorama would tell, and consistency on keeping the elements of the diorama in line with that narrative.
So lets do some basic maths quickly for the joke at the start.
69,420 day total time for construction, painting, dihormas etc. 365 days are in a year (excluding leap years) so 69,420 divided by 365 equals 190 rounded down to the nearest whole number. Divide 190 by four to figure out how many of these years are leap years and we get 48 rounded up once again. So with the bare minimum of mathemeatics applied this took 190 years and 48 days to complete.
Yeah that sounds about right for a Manta
Excellent work, (i know you are waiting for a but) but i don't think there would be green inside as it would be pitch black so no plants could leave there. Apart from this, amazing work, really impressed by both your commitment and you talent.
So wait a second. You’re telling me you spent over 60 years working on this thing? 69420 days is a lot of time. Glad to see y’all aren’t dead yet.😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔
0:08 12 kg of resin is 26.46 pounds.
Almost as much as yo momma 😂
Don’t know if you had considered it, but whats the story behind the fire warrior having buried some of their comrades, but leaving others inside the ship? Are the graves not their doing? Are the graves even Tau? Did they only bury those that survived the crash, and if so, what happened to them? The plot thickens.
Yeah nice project and all, but I've just been following this to hear Squidmar say "di-rama" with two syllables 😅
69240 days...... or 190 years? so what you had a team of 40 people and it took ya like 5 years? because anything else just doesnt make sense
Been following this project and it is outstanding you guys are unreal and its such great work you guys do keep it up, the only thing i would say tho and sorry if its been highlighted in a previous comment but would the TV screen not be in Tau not english (its a small nit pick and doesn't take it away from the work you guys have done)
If this doesn't go on display at WHW HQ in Nottingham I won't be angry, but I will be very disappointed....
Realy awesome work guys. just one tiny complain....why is the fire warrior camping in a rhino and not a tau tank?
If you guys werent farming views this could of been done in 4 videos. Lmfao bruh added like 5 under terrain features and tons of inside features. Isnt this suppose to be a playable terrain???
Looks awesome my only thought was with the upper deck I think there is to much growth, I mean with the bushes and stuff not much light would be getting in for them to grow.. I know its space alien plants but still :P
Waitwaitwait. If the dead Tau are buried outside under those nice tombstones - what are THOSE dead Tau _doing_ in there?
Anyone know where there is a Gallery of the entire Diorama and this episode I can view? Its amazing but I didn't find it on his Gallery page.
I love this! BUT! I'm going to be the one to point out that the green plants inside the manta wouldn't be able to grow there due to the lack of sunlight. Without sun, no photosynthesis, no photosynthesis, no green plants. But i guess alien plants can do what they want😏
The only thing I don't like is the fire warriors still in their seats. All this time and the survivor didn't burry them? =D This is so far beyond anything I could ever do. I love it all.
If anyone in the comments is going to complain about the Seagull joke not being in the T'au alphabet, I will pay them a friendly visit personally
Great work! But... Why the dead guys on the seats? I thought he buried all his crewmates?
Cheers and keep up the great work
I love this game, I actually played it like 2 times, and both times the other side rage quit.
Otherwise it just brain washes you into joining the military
as awesome as the end result is, i kinda dont like most of your painting videos... they are too much of " look what i did " rather than " watch me do this " i could sit for a hours with you on the screen and watch you paint as i paint... but these videos im like " meh ill just skip to the end to see the final results since im not going to learn anything by watching what is essentiallly a " highlight clip compilation " of you painting...
Really great work as always, but I think for the immersion it would be nice to have Tau letters on the screen.
Greetings from germany.
Didn't the loan survivor bury the others in graves on the hilltop? Narrative inconsistency, or an ice cold snub to the 4 fire warriors he'd had beef with?
Wasn't there like a graveyard where the guy buried his fallen comrades? I guess he didn't like the ones that are still rotting on the ship, huh? XD
I was embarrassingly confused on how it took 69,420 hours... and then it hit me
Dishonourable Xenos, has time for fishing but not to give his comrades a proper burial? Disgraceful!
Should have done a sneaky geanstealer cultists extracting something from one off the dead tau in the troop hold to tie it in with the other small dioramas within the display....
I wish I could have all the equipment you guys have I think i could do a good job no where as good as you guys but if all the paints was there and space
I love the survivors: 1 and its that guy fishing with his crab buddy. But not alive for long tho...
I wonder how large crew is working on it to reach 70k workdays . . . that amounts to roughly 21 years for 1 person
Maybe add like a grave site/memorial built by the survivor to honour his brothers or sumthn like that, i think would look rly cool and fit the vibe of him having been there long enough to take the care and effort to do that
22 dead should be a body or two more and a bit more gear laying around but man o mean it's still 200% perfect and you guys doing amazing
You guys ever thought of doing a skyrim diorama perhaps the fight against the dragon in the end of the game or a monty python style thing, loving this series btw awsome stuff
Love ur videos Emil, but man, when your cutting these models up, my heart screams: Nooooooooooooo!
I don't even like Warhammer but you guys paint awesome and that's why I watch
Warhammer is such a nieche in today's gaming stuff... Why isnt this more popular?
Your main guy must have really hated those 5 corpses. Considering he buried everyone else.
Boss, I think your math is a bit off there. 69k DAYS does not add up.
69 420 - i see what you did there
Ive been staying up to date on the manta diorama since beforeI shipped to korea, its a bittersweet end to both the epicness of the diorama and my time here.
The survivors count on the screen should have said 2.
Adds a bit of mystery :)
Wait, shouldn't the screen show tau gliph, instead of high gothic (english)?
You could add a suit that he’s salvaged but he’s had to scratch build the repairs from bits he’s found?
