I can't say enough how much I appreciate your work in making these videos. As a 46 year old surfer from southern CA, I've had many encounters ranging from sightings to 'too close for comfort' run ins with great whites. Your videos has enabled me to get a better understanding of their behavior and build much more appreciation for these beautiful, yet terrifying creatures. Thank you very much for your dedication and work on these videos, they are very much appreciated!
I have not sern one of your videos in awhile. I enjoy your drone coverage because it shows these creatures in a natural way. I get tired of "This next shark bit the victim into two halves!" Thank you for your time and effort!
I consider you as my brother from now on!!! What an amazing footage is this , i watched it like 20 times with my 6 year old daughter and shes so calm when she watches yet fascinated. Please keep up the good work , im truly amazed.
Amazing footage. I sat transfixed through the entirety of the clip. You have really created "Must See TV" on UA-cam. All of this in my own back yard contributes to the thrill I get watching each new episode. It seems they are everywhere lately and you do a tremendous job of bringing it to us.
I am 42 and my deep fascination with sharks hasn’t changed since it was the first thing I drew with a crayon. Your work is more insightful than any documentary. Thank you . Thank you.
@@jameshammers5239’Your’ is a possessive pronoun, so you use that for sentences about owning things. You mean you’re which means ‘you are’. Grammar is basically the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you’re shit.
Such beautiful footage and information. I love that you raise questions about behavior with all of the amazing things you witness. You capture the beauty and science in such a wonderful way.
Such super content ! I used to live in Santa Cruz and would cycle and run along the cliffs at sunrise , during the early summer months I would often see adult Great whites cruising the edges of the kelp forests out toward Davenport landing and old disused whaling station looking for young seal pups , on one occasion I stopped and stood up to take a photo and it was is if the shark were aware of my presence and it quickly disappeared . Your work is without doubt key to understanding and in saving the habitats in which these earth dwellers also share with us . Thank you 🌊✨
Thank you for the upload. As always it’s informative and leaves us wanting more. GWS are one of a small amount that size up their prey and calculate the danger to themselves before attacking. They’re incredibly smart way more than scientists think.
amazing and beautiful vid…you truly capture the dance of nature, and it indeed, is presented in such an artful manner. every week is shark week with you. thanks for giving us a view into the lives of these amazing creatures 🤩🙏🏼💯
I have a fear of sharks and struggle to watch anything filmed underwater. Your overhead videos are helping me alleviate those fears and see the beauty of the ocean once again. ❤
I've always kept a wary out (scuba diver, skin diver) and I'm sure they've been around, but actually seeing them? These videos are enlightening! I used to think cruising around in kelp beds, not a care in the world because I thought there were no sharks in them, whew! Wrong! So many things, wrong. Education IS enlightening. As long as it's real, not woke, not massaged and censored, which is why this channel is so popular. And why teachers and the media are so unpopular.
Hello from Scotland 🏴 This footage is simply beautiful. I am Great White mad! I probably wont ever see one and the Malibu Artist gives me the opportunity to watch these beautiful creatures from above in their natural environment. The work he puts in is phenomenal. And very much appreciated. The pollution in the sea really upsets me terrible 🥺 I wish we humans would change 🦈
What other types of large sharks do you see is So Cal? Keep up the good work. Educating the public is a huge step in the understanding and conservation of these beautiful creatures
Beautiful content, thanks for sharing! ❤ (Somehow I imagine the shark at 1:58 muttering under his breath "damn, I should have taken the left turn instead of asking the purpoise about the way!" 😏)
keep up the great work. im amazed by your videos time and time again. the first clip: if a man has no fear of losing his heart and soul (cellphone) in the water, im not surprised he is not afraid of a giant sharc next to him. :D the lion clip: after all i have come to know about sharcs its not totally surprising me but still amazed to see how very careful sharcs behave and hunt. because more important than a nice meal is to stay healthy.
❤ I just wanted say I love tge footage u got for this and it's amazing to watch and see how big the ocean is that's amazing seeing a great white up close they need be protected as much to and its amazing people got understand the ocean I'd there home and we should start respecting it for all liven ocean creatures and land I don't care what anyone says humanity got bad ❤️ sad to say this world needs a awaken this so beautiful footage im share it with my hubby he loves sharks to so ❤️ tku for posting
Your documentation of these interactions is amazing. I don't know if this would be within your capabilities but have you ever considered filming at night? I know night vision would only provide blurry shots but as an outdoorsman and an avid fisherman I have found over the years that in many ecosystems everything changes at night. Predators and prey are most active at dusk and dawn but there is often a difference between how predators interact with prey at midday as opposed to midnight as well. It might provide an interesting opportunity to document and discover behaviors no one has ever observed.
I have SCUB, freedived and spearfished off the SoCal coast for 3.5 decades now. Always thought I would be safe in the kelp or shallows from a large GW until now 1:36. After all the years and time spent in the water I have only ever seen one juvenile (6-7ft) off San Onofre while paddle boarding about 6 years ago. I have been around sharks a lot but there are 3 I don't mess with, Tigers, GWs and Bulls.
Beautiful Carlos. Love your video's. Thank you for all your work and narration. (Do you ever get up to Northern California and our Farallon Islands. That was at one point a big location for Great Whites.)
Amazing work Malibu Artist! We aprreciate the great work you are poviding the scientific community as well as the rest of us. Thank you. (also, would you consider a colab with Shark Bytes? It is a very different channel but your work deserves every outlet. Thank you again!).
Grew up in San Diego and have fished, dived and surfed locally all my life before moving to Kauai. I just happen think sharks thrashing around in shallow water and around kelp is likely trying to kick up rays out of the sand. Ive actually seen smaller juveniles do this. Over 30% of a great whites diet is rays and bottom fish. Especially the juvies.
Awesome work 👍. Just shows how rare attacks really are. Don't get me wrong I'm not in the harmless sea puppy camp, they attack, kill, and even consume us sometimes. But 50-100 attacks a year with 5-15 fatalities is nothing compared to what it would be if they were all mindless eating machines that targeted us.
Majestic masters of the oceans, thank you so much for your work, interestingly the shark swam away from you on the board, and quickly, like he identified you as human and left,. They may understand more than we give them credit for. Awaiting the next video from you ❤
Hi Carlos! I've been thinking of you recently, with the local news of the Humpback spotted off Palos Verdes, wrapped in a net. It sounds like your kinda scene. This video is busy with action! Wildlife is wild! 🩵
Thank you, thank you for mentioning the Mylar balloons!! And really, all balloons are horrible for our environment, so please don’t release them into the air 🌎🙏

Congrats on capturing that interaction between the juvenile and the sea lion. Amazing footage.
Such great footage Carlos...I bet scientists and shark experts will be watching this with amazement.
Carlos has been consulting with many of them and sharing footage with them. He's brought them footage rarely (if ever) seen.

I appreciate that!
Thanks!
Very cool. I always had a plan of sitting in the kelp beds on my surfboard at certain spots, thinking it was safer. lol.
Yikes! LOL
Its pretty safe for the sea lions at least. The sharks need space to ambush them from down below.
What a absolutely fantastic UA-cam video. Keep up the good work Sir.
Wow Carlos! This was a fascinating video, and your calm narration is awesome!
Beautiful footage! Please don't stop making videos, always a pleasure to watch
