Vampire Addiction is an amazing book you will love it. Greek gods and vampires all together who wouldn't want to read a book like that. One of my all time favs!!!! Eva Pohler is an amazing author!!!!!
I loved it too! There were many plot holes and flat characters but I think this is to be expected from a play. I LOVED Scorpius so much. He is so sweet!
Every heart a doorway will be 3 books. And Queen of the Night was fantastic! It's a little slow in pace but the writing and overall story is SO incredible!
Thank you Regan for posting these videos consistently , i always wanted to read books and it's not common in my society which makes me not that exited when it comes to read one because i have nobody to share my thoughts and experiences with ,but watching your videos is always my inspiration to keep me reading , love you
I absolutely loved Every Heart a Doorway! I gave it 4 stars because I wanted more! I just wish it was longer, but I can't wait to read the next two books!!
Early squad! I love Regan's hauls, she and I have similar taste in books I think - we both love fantasy! I mentioned several fantasy books in my tbr pile video.
the "a very short introduction" collection includes a lot of books that aren't historical too! i just recently picked up one about linguistics and there were so many others to choose from!!!
I'm so glad you got The Emperor's Blades! I LOVED it. It seems like we have pretty similar taste, especially with fantasy, so I hope you really like it as well. The trilogy is so amazing and underrated. All the covers are gorgeous too lol. super cool art style
Unfortunately I haven't read Theft of Swords, so I can't say how it is compared to that. I would say the series has a pretty strong political presence, but I wouldn't say it's the strongest aspect to it. You'll find most of the political parts in Adares (the sister) chapters, and, for me personally, she was the weakest POV (but not bad by any means, just not as interesting as the brothers, or the other female POV introduced in book 3). However she hangs around a character who has been playing politics for a long time, and who is a lot better than her at it(not spoiling anything), so seeing the outcomes of said persons actions is interesting in itself. I think the narration was very solid. Through the main characters you're taken to many places and situations throughout their world (and taken by things like giant birds and portals, which are always neat bonuses), and whenever they converge throughout the story it's done very well. You switch between a few different points of view, yet he managed to keep the pacing balanced and flow well between them. It never felt sloppy to me tl;dr: overall I think it isn't something to read for its political intrigue (though a lot is there to be had), but read for the characters, the world, the themes, and the narration. Hope that helps :)
Can't wait to hear what you think about Every Heart a Doorway. I've wanted to pick it up since it came out and I've heard so many good things about it.
I was wondering what you thought about The Cursed Child and I'm glad that you were disappointed too. Each time watching your videos i see how much our tastes are the same and I'm so happy about that. You're the only booktuber i take recommendations from at this point
So lucky you get to choose your interests in history. My University only has two areas or teaching, which is South East Asia and Australian history. Can't wait for independent studies.
I watch your videos after class most days to unwind. Don't know what that says about my life, but I really love the way you talk and what you have to say. Also love your vlogs! Keep up the great work and thanks for inflating my TBR list!
I totally understand the college book thing. I just went and got mine. And also i got a book to help my self thought it lol. i orded the Black Prism im so excited about it
So I was watching this video and all I could think of was, "I wonder if she got the Hamilton book to help with learning all the things." Then she was like French Revolution and I was like EVERYONE GIVE IT UP FOR AMERICAS FAVORITE FRENCH MAN and then she said Stay Alive and I started to cry and then she said Right Hand Man and I'm like HAMILTON IS EVERYWHERE
OMG this is so funny because I went to Paris (I live in the Netherlands) recently and there was an English bookstore. I went in there and my attention was quickly taken by a book there. That was the Queen Of The Night, and I wanted to buy it but I need to read all my other books first. It seemed like a pretty good book :-)
I personally loved All the Birds in the Sky (in fact it's now one of my favourite novels), I've personally never read anything like it and was afraid before reading that I wouldn't like it but the peculiarity of it made it really hard to put down. I loved how it all played out and came together, and I thought a lot of it was really funny but in a subtle sort of way. However, I can understand why it isn't for everyone, it is pretty out there. I've also just started The Beauty of Darkness (I'm only like 70 pages in) I'm enjoying it so far but the size is pretty intimidating.
Slade House was really great! I read it on the plane and it was quite captivating. Although, when I read it I didn't know it was a "companion novel" so some of the elements confused me.
Completely agree with you about the Cursed Child, I was about to skip over you talking about it, because whenever someone talks about it in their videos I don't want to hear about it, I just want to forget it exists.
I just bought The Kiss of Deception/ The Remnant Chronicles series recently and I cannot wait to delve myself in the books. I've heard so much about them.... so many good things. That I'm so excited to start the series even if I'm starting it after it's over lol. Seriously tho, had I started it before I think I would have gone nuts waiting for the rest of the series to be released this way is much better haha.
Question! What do you do with the books you couldn't get into/disliked? Especially over-hyped book series... Do they still live on your bookshelf or do you donate them?
Regan please make a book recommendation vid on WWII-themed books. I badly need more. I'm only halfway through Salt to the Sea and I'm like I need more WWII reads. pretty puhleasssse
If you want some French Revolution fiction Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly is so good! It's one of the books that got me into reading when I was in hs.
(This is probably really "???" But) could you possibly make a video on writing an essay? Or analyzing a book maybe? I'd love to know your methods and tips :)
I also got Every Heart a Doorway. I read on the authors website that his name is pronounced Shawn-in . I also got the first 3 books in the Lightbringer series (because of seeing it in your videos).
I'm not sure which ones she has, but it's called an "invisible" bookshelf. Basically looks like this: www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=27844075&color=007&cm_mmc=SEM-_-Google-_-PLA-_-218329490704_product_type_a_product_type_dec_product_type_storage_brand_ur&adpos=1o1&creative=100432025344&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKEAjwrvq9BRD5gLyrufTqg0YSJACcuF81BzQiO6JYcmNm67nopnA1553qlYvtnOkxaPL9H7B7MhoCoSTw_wcB :)
The Cursed Child. I felt it was such a lemon. At its core, it was a good story. For a Harry Potter story, it shouldn't have even been entertained that that was what we wanted. I felt our "villain" was predictable and I wasn't shocked by anything they did. None of it surprised me. It was overhyped and it fell flat. Such a shame.
Seanan is pronounced like 'Shawn N'. She writes under the name Mira Grant too. I love her stuff. My favorite is her Newsflesh series. It's zombies but more like a political thriller type thing. Very interesting and I found her world building great.
I just finished The Beauty of Darkness, last night, and loved it. I loved Harry Potter and the Cursed Child but I also knew it was a screenplay and not a novel by J.K. Rowling. I wrote down Baby Doll to read. I also loved The Crown's Game.
I just finished The Crown's Game today. It was an alright book, but I had a hard time getting through it. The story line was great, but it just couldn't catch my attention for long. I HIGHLY recommend the book: The Tiger and The Wolf by Adrian Tchaikovsky. The cover of it is just stunning!

+The Astonishing Ashley I felt like they weren't the same characters as in the HP book series. Harry acted like a completly different person and I didn't like it. :/
It's the most overhyped story of this year and it was such a disappointment. I was reading the series when it was released and was on Order of the Phoenix when I started Cursed Child and I was just thinking the whole time "These aren't Harry, Ron or Hermione." And that certainly wasn't the Draco Malfoy I remember. Far too many plot holes as well. And the kicker, the end. I felt that was the cruellest thing JK has ever done to our beloved main character.
i was blown away by a brief history of seven killings, amaaazing writing. lots of trigger warnings though, so be prepared. curious to hear what you think!
I forgot to mention that I love Scorpius tho
I'd like to see a review from you. I know there are a lot, but the ones I've seen have been mostly positive.
Honestly Scorpius was the only thing that kept me going through the book
Slade house was amazing! Writing style was absolutely gorgeous and the characters were really interesting
Vampire Addiction is an amazing book you will love it. Greek gods and vampires all together who wouldn't want to read a book like that. One of my all time favs!!!! Eva Pohler is an amazing author!!!!!
Aw no I'm sad to hear you were disappointed with The Cursed Child, I loved it 🙈
me too...
I enjoyed it too, but you can't deny that it opened A LOT of plot holes to the story...
I loved it too! There were many plot holes and flat characters but I think this is to be expected from a play. I LOVED Scorpius so much. He is so sweet!
I love it as well! And I agree, because it is actually a play, you can't go into depth as much as you could with a novel
I love the way you said "as well as her mom's" 😂. Like "we have all these great perspectives... and then her mom's".
The Vampires of Athens books are fantastic. Eva Pohler never disappoints!!!
I really enjoyed seeing your book list for college. And, I feel that struggle of buying books.
Every heart a doorway will be 3 books. And Queen of the Night was fantastic! It's a little slow in pace but the writing and overall story is SO incredible!
It is never to late for a review Regan. I hope you do it for the Cursed Child, I'd love to hear your more in depth thoughts
WOOOOOOOOOOOO I just fangirled so much when I saw The Beauty of Darkness! I'm soooooo looking forward to reading it!
So is baby doll sort of like room by emma odonoghue?
I know right
I know right ?! XD
I mentioned that in my review! They blurb it "For Fans of Gone Girl" and I was like uhhhhhh noooooooo
Is similar to Room BUT Room is so much better, seriously.
Thank you Regan for posting these videos consistently , i always wanted to read books and it's not common in my society which makes me not that exited when it comes to read one because i have nobody to share my thoughts and experiences with ,but watching your videos is always my inspiration to keep me reading , love you
Book hauls are life.
Ive only read a sample of the first book, but I fell in love as soon as I finished the first chapter!!! I cannot wait to read the rest of it!
I absolutely loved Every Heart a Doorway! I gave it 4 stars because I wanted more! I just wish it was longer, but I can't wait to read the next two books!!
So.Many.Amazing.Books!!!! You always have the best taste! My tbr list is extra long now lol.
the Queen of the Night sounds really interesting and the book is gorgeous!
Early squad! I love Regan's hauls, she and I have similar taste in books I think - we both love fantasy! I mentioned several fantasy books in my tbr pile video.

Aweeeesssooommeeee. Does it have a political intrigue? solid narration? I just don't want to run into another Theft of Swords situation
Unfortunately I haven't read Theft of Swords, so I can't say how it is compared to that.
I would say the series has a pretty strong political presence, but I wouldn't say it's the strongest aspect to it. The Crown's Game is incredible! I finished reading it a few days ago. I hope you enjoy 😊 Also, yes for floppy paperbacks!!
Vampire Addiction was fantastic. Eva Pohler is an amazing author!
Love your floating bookshelf! And the books on it :)
So many books! Actually the first one sounds super fun. I love how excited you are! Great video.
I read Eva's First book in the Purgatorium series. And loved it.
Can't wait to hear what you think about Every Heart a Doorway. I've wanted to pick it up since it came out and I've heard so many good things about it.
Oh! Baby doll sounds so interesting!! Ahhhh I hear such good things about the Remnant Series!!! I NEED IT!!
literally died when you said Jean-Jacques Rousseau 😂😂
Everything you wear in your videos is so cute! It would be awesome to see a lookbook or just a video about your clothing style!
I love your dry humor in introducing your books for classes. XD
I was wondering what you thought about The Cursed Child and I'm glad that you were disappointed too. Each time watching your videos i see how much our tastes are the same and I'm so happy about that. You're the only booktuber i take recommendations from at this point
just wanted to say thank you for your channel :)
So lucky you get to choose your interests in history. My University only has two areas or teaching, which is South East Asia and Australian history. Can't wait for independent studies.
I have been in a book slump but I don't know why but after watching this video, I want to READ!
I watch your videos after class most days to unwind. Don't know what that says about my life, but I really love the way you talk and what you have to say. Also love your vlogs! Keep up the great work and thanks for inflating my TBR list!

I absolutely LOVE The Vampires of Athens series!!! Hands down one of my favorite series!!!!
Was Baby doll one of those stories that started out on wattpad bc I'm pretty sure I've read something like that a couple years ago
Nice haul! I picked up over 39 books this month and I'm not proud😂🙌🏻
Literally me because I just started listening to it like two months ago and it's all I listen to 😂😂
I'M TAKING THIS HORSE BY THE REINS MAKING RED COATS REDDER WITH BLOODSTAINS
Also: She hauled a book by Thomas Paine. This immediately brought to life my inner Angelica :D
I'm a social studies education major and I couldn't stop laughing at your little segment about your books for class 😂
I want to read Baby Doll so badly! It was on my most anticipated read this month!
The Muse cover is gorgeous!
Omg you have the goldfinch, it is sooo good
I play your videos when I'm putting on my makeup because your voice is soothing. Hahaahaha
OMG this is so funny because I went to Paris (I live in the Netherlands) recently and there was an English bookstore. I went in there and my attention was quickly taken by a book there. Baby Doll sounds so interesting :P I need to check it out. I wasn't overly impressed with Cursed Child either
I really want to read Vampire Addiction by Eva Pohler!!
The Emperor Blades looks FANTASTIC!
It IS fantastic
Good! I just ordered it.
Completely agree with you about the Cursed Child, I was about to skip over you talking about it, because whenever someone talks about it in their videos I don't want to hear about it, I just want to forget it exists.
I absolutely loved All the Birds in the Sky, hope you like it!
omg the cover Of the Muse is freaking beautiful!!
I think Baby doll sounds like Room ,but I will read it eventually anyway. I love your videos
I absolutely love vampire addiction. Eva pohler is an amazing author
You should check out The Tsar of Love and Techno. I think you'll love it.
Could you start putting the book titles in the video description please?
I just checked out A Brief History of Seven Killing from the library. Not sure how long it will take me to read, but it is on the list at least.
Your bookshelves are beautiful.
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on Slade House as I just finished it! Great video!! ❤️
I recommend Egg and Spoon by Gregory Maguire. It's set in Russia and it has elements of magic and good characters.
YAAAS BEAUTY OF DARKNESS!!!!
hiiiii! !!
I'd love to see you review Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! I'm still hesitant to pick it up due to all of the mixed reviews
Question! What do you do with the books you couldn't get into/disliked? Especially over-hyped book series... Do they still live on your bookshelf or do you donate them?
The Vampire addiction sounds interesting! I'm going to have to read it! Can't beat free either! Thanks!
very surprised at how small ever heart a doorway is
I loved All the Birds in the Sky!
Slade House is great! Very strange but it had me totally hooked!
Regan please make a book recommendation vid on WWII-themed books. I badly need more. I'm only halfway through Salt to the Sea and I'm like I need more WWII reads. pretty puhleasssse
I've had my eye on The Queen of the Night too, but I can't find it in any bookstores
I really like your shirt!!
I can't wait to hear what you think of The Beauty of Darkness! I really enjoyed it! The Muse has such a gorgeous cover!
GAH!!! Beauty of Darkness is such a wonderful book and great finale! It gives me life ❤️
+Liz Homick aaahh I have the book already but I'm nervous to finish it >^
+KuroiAiren5 DON'T WORRY! It does not disappoint! But I do miss the characters incredibly
Cant wait to read - will update when I collect my feels
I also got Every Heart a Doorway. I read on the authors website that his name is pronounced Shawn-in . I also got the first 3 books in the Lightbringer series (because of seeing it in your videos).
ommmg yesssss
Where can you find the "A Very Short Introduction" books?
How are her books hanging on the wall? Is there like a clear shelf under the books? It's super cute but like I'm so amazed on how it's done.
They're called floating shelves!
It's an invisible float shelf.
I'm not sure which ones she has, but it's called an "invisible" bookshelf. Basically looks like this: www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=27844075&color=007&cm_mmc=SEM-_-Google-_-PLA-_-218329490704_product_type_a_product_type_dec_product_type_storage_brand_ur&adpos=1o1&creative=100432025344&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKEAjwrvq9BRD5gLyrufTqg0YSJACcuF81BzQiO6JYcmNm67nopnA1553qlYvtnOkxaPL9H7B7MhoCoSTw_wcB
:)
I care! I want you to keep me updated on how your liking the classes and the books you have to read! 🌸
The Cursed Child. I felt it was such a lemon. At its core, it was a good story. For a Harry Potter story, it shouldn't have even been entertained that that was what we wanted. I read All the Birds in the Sky a few months ago and absolutely loved it, I'll be really interested to hear your opinion on it!
I liked only one new character in cc. That was Scorpius because he was like a little child. I thought he was adorable
omg he is my fav too
+PeruseProject I didn't really like Albus. But slightly ship them for some odd reason
September 2nd is my birthday too yay lol
I just finished The Beauty of Darkness, last night, and loved it. I loved Harry Potter and the Cursed Child but I also knew it was a screenplay and not a novel by J.K. Rowling. I wrote down Baby Doll to read. I also loved The Crown's Game.
I don't really read any of the genres you talk about, but I should start! I'm a big reader of bestsellers, fiction and memoirs.
You should check out the Poptimist's review of Queen of the Night! He makes it sound so enticing
ommmgg his reviews are the greatest! Thanks
Do a full Cursed Child Review!!!!!!! I want to see you ramble!!!
vampire addiction by eva pohler was amazing i really loved reading it
I am SO EXCITED to read Queen of the Night! Now to actually make a dent in it hehe... it's so long but I feel like it's gonna be worth it :D
Hi! Have you ever tried Kushiel's legacy from Jacqueline Carey? Read it a few years back and adored it. I think you might like it
Vampire Addiction is fabulous book
I just finished The Crown's Game today. It was an alright book, but I had a hard time getting through it. The story line was great, but it just couldn't catch my attention for long.
I HIGHLY recommend the book: The Tiger and The Wolf by Adrian Tchaikovsky. The cover of it is just stunning!
I didn't realize it was that big until I realized it was very large.
Ha. fantastic
How are the books just suspended on the wall??
it's like a floating bookshelf :)
+Johanna ross Thanks !
I have read Hp. And, I want to read The Beauty of Darkness. Because, towards the end of July I have marathon the first two books in The Rmentant Chronicles! I have read The Crown's Game it was really good. Overall rating is: 4.5/5! Really loved this haul Regan!
I love Harry Potter but hated the Cursed Child. I was so disappointed even though I wanted to love it :/
I tried so hard as well. I feel like I've disappointed Harry himself for not loving it. :/
I agree.
I bought 4 ebooks and 3 physical books and I thought it was a lot. Wow.. haha.
Man I love this series
i was blown away by a brief history of seven killings, amaaazing writing. lots of trigger warnings though, so be prepared. curious to hear what you think!
ooooh even more excited to pick it up now!
