Beautiful quail but as a breeder of quail myself I feel that keeping them on wire floors is an outdated method.

I feel so bad for these babies. I read the are ground dwelling birds. Making them live on wire seems cruel to me 😡

Just like chickens, wires are like walking bare foot on stones to quail.
They're your pets not livestock right?
Quail have been bred in cages where their eggs roll away under them for so many generations it has caused them to forget how to hatch their own eggs, it is very rare for a button quail to become broody.
I like to dig mountains, trenches, and bumps all over my quails bedding, they're always exited to climb a new hill and fall down it.
They run up and down the hills all day until I get home from work and they've flattened out.

I totally agree I have never felt the need to keep my quail on wires. I know traditionally that’s the way breeders keep them but it is an antiquated totally unnecessary method.

No thats the japanese and cotornix quails that are bred for long time for eggs and meat. Button quail are more recent and are far more likely to go broody unlike japanese and cutornix quail

My button quail sit on their eggs and hatch them! They also feed the babies, chirp when they find food and feed them. It took a few times of them laying and carrying for the young. After a few broods the younger generation will help with the feeding!

Agree with other comments about the wire cage bottom. Tons of poo underneath and caked on wire bottom (!!), clearly has not been properly cleaned for a long time. Very bad husbandry for tiny peeps who are imprisoned with no way out thanks to you!

Keeping them in horrid conditions because you can’t be bothered to clear up their cage. You shouldn’t be allowed pets.

Disliked video as you have them in a disgusting cage and no floor or follage for them to hide amongst. Imagine living in a room the size of your toilet your whole life.
