This is a nice attachment. We had a Clausing square head in a shop at work that had a smooth hand wheel built into the back of the head stock. Very handy!
Gday Alan, I made a handle for my old lathe a while ago for tapping threads in the lathe, just like a crank handle really but there’s no way you could run the lathe while it’s in the spindle, your set up is a lot better, great video as always mate thank you, Matty
Allen I have to ask how is it balanced due to its a 3 spoke wheel. It's no way it can be balanced without counterweights on the opposite side of the third spoke. Did I miss something in the build? Nice job on it and I would like to build one but would look for a 2 or 4 spoke wheel.
Hi Anthony I have not balanced the wheel. As they use electronic steering i.e. no direct drive to the rack they may be balanced in production but work well. My brothers is the same and runs fine when the lathe is on
Useful addition to the lathe, nice job.
Thanks for sharing.

Great work! I can see how that can be very handy. Although, you did forgot to install the airbag... :)
Lollll
Lovely job Alan
Cool work sir 👏👍
Will a standard car license allow one to drive the Boxford? :)
Great idea by the way.
Hi Benny yes a standard car license will allow you to drive it but don't forget to remove the air bag.
Needs Indicators.
Good work!
