I recently picked up The House on Mango Street and am excited to read it, that’s too bad it didn’t hit for you! Sadly I DNF’ed The Wishing Game, haha glad you liked it though and that it got you out of your reading slump!! Also love your laptop with the stickers and the apple, haha so fun and clever 😊 For the end of the year I’m working on catching up on Stormlight Archive so I can read the 5th book that just came out, finishing the Beartown series and the Shepherd King duology, and otherwise just reading cozy books ❤️
Ohhhh good luck with the Stormlight Archive!! So many people are reading that right now and I have FOMO. Lol I'm still working my way through the Mistborn series....😅 But I will get there eventually! hahahah Interested to see how you feel about The House On Mango Street. It wasn't bad by any means. I think my expectations were just a bit too high.

It touched my heart to see you back!! Spending time with family and friends is always great, but especially when you're feeling rather yucky. I'm guessing that darling nephew of yours was the best diversion ever, and there is nothing like mother/daughter time. Firekeeper's Daughter and Solito were such amazing reads! I still find myself thinking about the plights of Daunis and Javier. I recently read And So She Roars, the sequel to The Girl With the Louding Voice. I was so excited to see that Abi Dare had written a sequel, as Louding Voice is an all time favorite read of mine. All I can say is if folks like reading about strong black women who are determined to over the many barriers and atrocities in their lives in African countries and elsewhere, Abi Dare nails it!

I need to read the Deep! I keep hearing such good things. definitely will be reading some fluffy historical romances during that time because I heard it's heavy.

I went thru a really bad reading slump. Didn’t read any books in August and only about 1-2 books a month since then. It was like every book I tried to pick up I couldn’t read. I plan on reading 2 more books to finish out the year but who knows lol. Glad you’re back!
