@eating sugar no papa i wish they made the ps5 controller smaller, it will be so clonky to hold for people with small hands and even medium hands. Xbox sx controller feels so much more comfortable to me simply by the fact that it's smaller.

I still rather charge my controller, than buying, or charging AA batteries! Just wasteful..
you also have the option of getting a recharge pack, which is best of both worlds and still lasts even longer. The built in battery has no argument or reason to be "better". They just want you to buy more sticks fools.

Built in battery has the downside of not being easily replaceable if it fails. That being said my six axis controller from the PS3 is 14 years old now and works like new. I have not heard of anyone's who had a battery failure. It's theoretically a possibility.

Consoles have lower numbers because of hardware, FPS and just opinions based on how much it cost etc....., while controllers have higher numbers because they are based on how sensitive the controller is and if their controls are easy enough to use etc.....

Unfortunately this seems to be the only "Next Gen" Controller this time around. A little disappointed in Microsoft.

It's about how long you play videogames for. If your playing online with friends, it's definitely annoying when the notification to charge your controller surprisingly pops up every 10-13 hours
At least it's better that the ds4 battery life. I only play a few hours at night and I get a prompt telling me to charge it.

Its funny because, since its a microphone, you can just scream into it instead of blowing, and it will still activate the fan :p

I really hope they can replicate the feeling of a real world trigger with these, the smooth first stage, then the right amount of pressure to crisply fire. It would make shooters so much more immersive.

The fact that we moved from a 3/4 hour battery span to a 10-13 hour battery span is a huge achievement, especially given that this controller has more built in features then the previous dual shock. Wtf is ign talking about lol. The controller last longer than most phones and smart watches.

Yes. Buy the Dock, put controllers in Dock, end of story.
Compared to, say, Nintendo's WiiU and Switch Pro Controllers that's definitely a downgrade, but for PS4 players acostumed to the pathetic 2-4 hour charge of the Dualshock 4 it represents a massive upgrade.
It also should be said that the Dualsense lasts less than a Switch Pro because it's doing way more with its built in speaker and microphone, adaptive triggers, touchpad, and led lights.

The dualshock 4 is cheap and creaky, The dualsense feels way more dense and expensive. It is without a doubt the biggest leap in controller technology PlayStation has ever had.

How can you score this controller a 9 when the durability is a 1! I already bought 2 controllers and both of them the R2 trigger became loose and unplayable. On my second controller I never used the “trigger effect” and it still became loose

Im a pc guy and keyboard and mouse is only better for fps and maybe rts and some other stuff but literally anything that has any kind of driving in it is so much better on controller I use a xbox controller for most games I play

The DualSence controller is really amazing! As how much I love the new design of the new controller. It’s a huge leap forward compare to the DualShock 4. I have a amazing experience with the haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers. And oh boy, I love it!

finally scored a ps5, and this controller changes everything. Playing my switch and xbox one, the standard vibration is just so bland now... the dualsense is gamechanging.
You do know that the Switch Joycons/Pro Controllers has haptic feedback right. They called it HD rumble.

Dual sense deserve a 10 .... It's more value than most pro controllers out there
So I managed to get my hands on a ps5, don't ask me how.. it's embarrasing, but the hardware is REALLY cool. It just looks great with the white aestetic and thebcontroller is super solid feeling. At first the control felt a bit too big for my very average size hands but when just playing and not thinking about it it feels great. At the sticks, buttons and especially the triggers feel amazing. And that haptic feedback.. it's actually really cool. Sony's designers really hit it out of the park on this one. So far the speaker on it is still a bit of a gimmick and I found myself turning it on and off on demons souls. But everything else is a home run.

I hope that in the future Sony will release an update for the PS4 to make it compatible with Dualsense.
It would be extremely practical to have a single controller that is compatible with the PS3, PS4, PS5, PC and Android/iOS, it is quite strange that DualSense is compatible with the PS3 and PS5 but not with the PS4.

I think the create button is a better option. The PS4 Controller was not responsive when recording. I would double take to record and when I’m finished I would stop it and find out the gameplay was not recording at all.

Had a few problems with the PS4 controller like the d-pad getting stuck in a certain direction & stick drift. I've had to replace a few PlayStation 4 controllers, hopefully the DuelSence controller isn't affed by stick drift

Personally, I never had an issue with the PS4 controller's battery life. Sure it would reach "empty" and give a warning that it was about to die, but I would often play for many hours past that point before it actually died. I also got in the habit of plugging in the controller and putting the PS4 in rest mode when I planned to play later so it would be charged when I was ready. Even if all that failed, you could still play with it plugged in, admittedly the cable isn't as long as I'd like.

10 hrs of battery is considered a low point?!?! Wow. Seems like plenty to me. If you havnt put the controller in 10 hrs then you need to rethink some things in your life.
Do you really play for 11.5 hours a day? (10 plus 13 equal 23 divided by two is 11.5 so thats the average)

I really can't imagine that this controller is more comfortable than the PS4 controller, giving the angle of those grips and how your middle fingers hit the back of the controller. This is also the same issue I have with xbox controllers. Also, they really need to ditch these archaic shoulder button layouts, the R1/L1 and R2/L2 should be inverted a bit to match the ergonomics of the resting position of your hands.
Everyone praising those other features but ignoring this.

So... are the analog sticks still slippery-as-hell as soon as you have either very dry or very sweaty hands? That was my nr1 complaint about the DS4. The only controller I've actually gotten some thumbgrips for... (I'd also consider those for the Switch Pro pad though tbh).

Hi got a question about the PS5 controller, got a ps5 9 days ago, and the L2 button getting stuck in game multiple times. It’s even my third controller in 9 days with the same problem, is it just bad design or very bad luck?

@3:22 TEN to THIRTEEN HOURS? I know that's no Switch or WiiU Pro Controller numbers but that's still a massive upgrade from the Dualshock 4's paltry 2-4 hours max of battery life per charge. And the Dualsense is doing a whole lot more than a Switch Pro Controller so I understand why it lasts less time. My one complaint is Sony dumping the iconic colors of the face buttons. I wish they'd just color the shapes themselves and the leave the buttons white and they'd still look super slick.

Imagine you're in a horror game using this controller:
You go to a dark door, and you feel a slight touch as you grab a handle.
You use R2 to open the door, and you can feel the hinges squeak and begin struggling to open up the door as the triggers become harder to pull.
You open the door, and hear a slight rasp from the controller speaker when suddenly dark hands and a face grab you and the controller shakes out of your hands.
On a PC I typically go Xbox one controllers but I’ve had major issues with Bluetooth connection stability on my Xbox controllers even with driver updates. Eyeballing the dual sense, sounds like an excellent controller.

I just got my ps5 today and this controller is next level. The joy con hd rumble has nothing on this. It's not even comparable in my opinion.
Gone will be the days of "I don't have a mic", even though it comes with the damn console. But now there will be no excuses.
