I am a licensed hair stylist and I want to broaden my skill set because in my area there aren’t a lot of salons around my area that do natural hair. I’ve been wanting to learn how to do locs for awhile so this video is very helpful.

As a biracial couple, when my boyfriend started talking about his hair, and how difficult it is to find someone to do his hair, I wanted to learn more about black hair, and honestly it’s really saddening that salons don’t cater to our black clientele, and because of the shortage of it when they do find someone the prices can be a bit much. (No shade to any stylist, because it takes a lot of work, and effort) but I think everyone should have the right to feel beautiful/handsome

@@caymusic17 my 5 yo (he was 4 at the time) is looking really good, the method shown in this video worked well. I ended up taking my 2 yo son’s hair down after about a month and a half because he got sand in it too many times and washing trying to get the sand out made it unravel a lot and he won’t really keep his head covered when he’s asleep. It looked so good when I first did it but I’ll give him a few more months and try it again.

It really depends on how your own upkeep (preference). Some people get their hair washed and retwisted every 2 weeks while others do once a month. Either of the choices are perfectly fine, and depending on how fast your her grows the 2 weeks would be for faster growing hair. Hope that helps love.

I am curious about why some people use those locking gels but I noticed you only used oil?
The locking gel is creating a residue that I don’t like and I almost want to wash everything out and start over with oil only like you did here.
Do you have any advice or should I just start over? 😭
