Dope beat. The faders at the bottom of AD2 are the levels of the direct mics which go straight to the master fader, the sound you were hearing before raising those faders was going through the Bus fader/channel which is like a parallel group/bus processing channel for parallel (drum group) processing.
❤❤ bless you, just got AD2 as well and I'm blown away! Imo realistic sounding drums are the way to go, it adds so much realism and groove :) PS 6 in a row, keep doing your thing
The beat was mad dope🔥 . Are snare, tom rolls triggered by you pressing 1 key or do you have to play the snare, tom key really fast to get that roll effect?
@@ndbomes cool story. The tempo and meter are mos def NOT coherent. What’s ridiculous is if you were talking to those producers, they’d be talking about how they f*ck with meter. They’re actually proud of this sh*t…like they invented something. 🤷🏼♂️
@@Timkast they definitely didnt invent it but there are people like flying lotus and j dilla that kinda started the “trend” that you call it, but all they are doing is adding swing to different elements of the drums. There are so many people that have done it, especially when it comes to neo soul and funk records, its not off time its swinged.
@@ndbomes you are referring to the “swing” function of the famous Akai MPC samplers that are the bedrock of all things we now know rap, hip-hop, et al. It’s interesting that you bring that up! Thank you! You’re correct-this phenomenon/trend/style is 1,000% because of THAT functionality. What you may not know is that the “swing” functionality is simply a logarithmic facsimile of the human “swing” performance characteristic that is associated with the organic accented sixteenth pattern known colloquially as “swing”. This logarithm was so beloved because it so closely mocked “human” swing when used in small measure-enough to fit the composition-not enough to make the effect stand out. What we are experiencing with this current phenomenon/trend/sound is the literal opposite of what the swing functionality on the MPCs was created to do: provide the ability for digitally sampled sounds to attempt to ape human, organic “swing”. This current trend is 1,000% about making the function the star and not the composition. It is the opposite of organic swing and feel. It’s basically compositional anarchy. It’s like, “hey….what if we turned this up PAST where it sounds good?!!!!!!?” WHOOAAA!! I get the rebellion-please trust and believe I know the rebellion. But it just sounds broken. Which is CHILL!!! But let’s be honest about it.
This is just a toy. If you want to make legit music, it always starts and ends with a Drum Set Player/ Artist. The best paid producers - they find the way the drummers hears the drums in the music and pretty much just records that and stands pat with that. Even a novice drummer is more entertaining to listen to than just playing the kit live..just playing a simple beat on his Drum Set.
Interesting opinion 🤔, not everyone has the access to a drummer or a drum set. Of course programmed drums aren’t going sound like a real drummer playing, but I think AD2 is a great alternative when it comes to price and convenience… especially if know how to make the most of it.
@@imLowKey I think you program them really nice on this video. Plus your keys are on point for sure. :) You are right. I just encourage more producers to put in the work to collaborate more with a real live drummer/s. I am a drummer so that is perspective. Also I think the product itself AD2 is a great example of creative product made from collaboration with a drummer/s.
that final beat goes crazy wit them keys
Haha, I'm glad you think so! Those keys were just a lil moment I had to get out. 🔥
I was not expectibg you to be such on monster on keys wow !! Crazzzy

Thanks for the insight! I'm still pretty new to the plugin so every bit of info helps a lot! 💪🏾

Cool channel
The beat was mad dope🔥 . Are snare, tom rolls triggered by you pressing 1 key or do you have to play the snare, tom key really fast to get that roll effect?
I play each drum individually, it's all in the timing and velocity.
What Kontakt library you using in this video bro ? Thanks 🙏🏾
Nahhh I love daily videos
Dope beat too
Thank you for the support! I'm glad you enjoy the daily videos and the music. Much more to come! 🔥
ADD vs Battery ?
So……the cool thing now is for drum beats to be random without any tempo or meter coherence? Is this what getting old feels like?
It's not my cup of tea either but it is a fairly popular style now. To each their own.
Idk what your talking about bro, those drums are very coherent

No creative has ever looked at anything as just a toy. All instruments are toys. Creativity is in how you use things. That’s the essence of art imo
