True story: When I was a 16 year old boy I had a dream 3 days in a row with a child, i think it was a girl, visiting me and i was scared as fck, i fell out of bed several times and woke up on the floor. I told my aunt who interpreted the dream as me trying reconcile with my inner child or feminine side. So I remembered this movie and said to myself next time i will step up to her(?) an hug her, and i really did the next night in my dream. I never had that dream again. This movie really means a lot to me now.

it's ok leon i don't expect a kid as young as you to have enough experience with things like that, if I look at your profile pic you have not even hit puberty, so you can't understand what goes on.

For starters I'm 15, and fair enough I've barely got any facial hair. But I understand what you were saying, I'm just saying its not true, you know its not true, its also quite a childish thing to lie about, do you think people are actually going to believe that much of a coincidence. Got to go now to rub my smooth genatailia and then look down to see that I'm 2 foot tall then sing with my high pitched voice

    • @leonjackson2967

Also you have a tiger as a profile pick y mong. How the fuck am I the childish one. I'm a little pissed that you said I haven't hit puberty, and me being so childish I want to prove you wrong. I know your probably not going to do this but if you look at my face book photos your opinion might change. I agree though that profile pick ain't half a mug shot

+Ruy Roberto It's a very sensitive plot though. Some people will be very shocked/surprised by the ending, and the more observant ones, will pretty much figure out the plot twist as soon as the little boy says he sees dead people.

the one thing i dont get all the RED objects seen in this movie like the red door handel and the figereen that Cole Seer takes from the church 15:00 are they ment to represent something ?

    • @amysantiago6284
      @amysantiago6284 7 років тому +10

It's intentional. Grabbed this from wikipedia...
'The color red was intentionally absent from most of the film, but it is used prominently in a few isolated shots for "anything in the real world that has been tainted by the other world" and "to connote really explosively emotional moments and situations". Examples include the door of the church where Cole seeks sanctuary; the balloon, carpet, and Cole's sweater at the birthday party; the tent in which he first encounters Kyra; the volume numbers on Crowe's tape recorder; the doorknob on the locked basement door where Malcolm's office is located; the shirt that Anna wears at the restaurant; Kyra's mother's dress at the wake; and the shawl wrapped around the sleeping Anna.'

I was lucky enough to see this in theaters the first weekend it was out so no one was talking about the ending which would have ruined the experience for me. The movie genuinely freaked my out (I was 14 at the time), but the ending completely blind-sided me and it was one of the best movie-going experiences I have ever had. I'm not saying it's one of the best movies I have seen, but the ending was perfectly satisfying and I had goosebumps as we slowly realize what's going on.

Maybe you can explain to me some flaws in the plot ok? How did the Dr get paid? How did he manage to negotiate the fees with the mother if he is a ghost and she cant even see him thefore ingore him. Keep in my mind that he doesnt know he is a ghost. How did he went on to his business without ever interacting with anyone, in a shop, on the street, friends. I suppose the latter goes for the rest of the ghosts futured in the movie. Because supposendly they dont know they are dead. His wife, their relationship is bad. Didnt they ever , fight , exchange words, touch, make up and then fight again? I mean come on man.
It was ok watching it the first time but.. no not again. I think that was the second time I saw the movie... The above mentioned flaws bagged me this time.
Anyhow, Mr shymalamanadanan did well in the box office.
P.S : After watching countless videos of real gore in various gore sites in combination with my disbelief in supernatural/paranormal/deities, unfortunatelly horror films dont do it anymore. All I see is bad make up effects and an actor playing the ghost lol
But I would like to get some answers to those questions. Maybe I missed the explanations during the movie.

it's been said clearly that the ghosts see only what they want to see...so he was probably seeing what he wanted in order to accomplish his unfinished purpose of helping that boy...once that was complete he was free to realize other things and that was dead could leave the limbo...and plus it's a fuckin movie not reality, so don't depend on much common sense, just enjoy it when it's good!

nah it's still shit! He doesn't know he is dead. And that's the main part of the movie that makes it intresting because it leads up to the plot twist. He thinks he is alive and a professional psychologist who is going through a rough patch So in the scenes in which he appears to be with the mother( house and hospital) he doesn't make any contact with her. Didnt that seem weird to him? Didn't he get paid? By her? Didn't he feel the need to speak with the doctor? With her? At all? Again, what about his wife? "He only sees what he wants to see.." Well.. He obviously sees the mother and his wife. They are a part of the things he wants to see and as I mentioned...no contact.
Come on man its ok to watch it the first time but this movie is a joke after that. The little kid is annoying and want to slap the fuck out of him. oh no wait.. that was in the movie pay it forward. Toni collete was moving and Bruce Willis was great in unbreakable. As a man with reason I see actors walking around playing the ghosts. I cant unsee it anymore in any horror movies or in splatters. Its alright when you are 13. I suppose zombie movies keep you in your toes too hey? Visit the site Kaotic if you like the adrenaline rush. Nothing beats reality. Cheers!

Such a great ending. I think what is so amazing about the twist ending is that it hits on a psychological AND emotional level. Mostly every film I have seen that has a twist ending, it only lands on a psychological level, with this one, I am emotionally invested in the characters and its a character ending too. I tear up and it gets me every time. That is the sign of a great film and why the ending will never be matched in that way again.

I remember going to see this film with my aunt, this is before everyone had internet access and access to spoilers so we were in a packed cinema and literally all of us were absolutely STUNNED at the ending because none of us had any clue what was coming. Even when the lights came on and the credits started rolling all of us were sat there for about five minutes looking at each other and going 'Did that just happen?''. Then when we left there was a long queue of people waiting outside to see it and one idiot decided to be clever and started screaming the spoiler so everyone waiting could hear and some guy ended up punching him and a mass brawl kicked off. Only in Port Talbot!

It's so short but I really like the scene where Cole is casually talking to the fire victim ghost in the dressing room and she's helping him prepare for the play. After he's realised he has no reason to be frightened of them, the ghosts are portrayed differently, like normal people - as if the "horror" switch has been turned off.

Society rules?! Society consists of individuals. If the days of the individual are over, so is society.
No. Powermongers have hit the roof out of greed and egotism. So now they want to reintroduce slavery for all have-nots.
That means civil wars if the politicians can't or won't secure equality before The Law!
But to date the politicians seem either in denial or leaning towards aligning themselves with the greediest...

    M. Night shyamalan is a brilliant director, I watch out for his films because the twists in them are unbelievable, I love how he has a little part in all his movies, like this one he is the doctor looking after cole, in signs he plays 'Ray' who has an alien locked in his pantry, for those of you that didn't know... Brilliant man.

I love this movie. It reminded me of my dream that I had six years ago. My father died and I regretted so much that I couldn't say goodbye and say sorry (coz we'd had an argument before he died). Several days after his funeral I saw a dream. I was sitting at the table in a light room. My father was sitting in front of me. He was very calm and peaceful as he'd never been. He looked like he wanted to go somewhere but I didn't see where. I wanted to tell him so much but I was too overwhelmed with emotions. Then he stood up and started leaving the light room. I jumped out of the table and hugged him. I asked him not to leave. But then I felt that my arms became very weak and I couldn't hold him anymore. So I let him go. I wanted to turn my head and see where he was going but I couldn't do it. I'm still so glad that I saw him.

This is one of those films that you can watch over and over again even knowing the ending because you spot new things on every viewing. For example when Cole comes home and Malcolm is with his mother, you don't see them conversing but as she leaves the room she looks over in his direction.. The way it tricked the audience into thinking Malcolm was interacting with people besides Cole was so well done.

Cole mentions that the ghosts only see what they want to see. So Malcolm's memory is probably patchy. He probably remembers that something 'important' happened between him and his wife on the night he was shot...but didn't realize that it was his death. So he assumes that she is giving him the cold shoulder over an argument or a fight. He also seems to waver between reality and...wherever ghosts go when they aren't on this earth...so what might seem like a few days to hi is probably months for his wife.

It teaches everyone to part with loved ones, we will all have to at some point.
The interesting twist is not only it is teaching the living parting with the dead but also preparing the dead to part the living! Who knows what's on the other side?
Makes someone think twice about which side he or she is really on right now! Alive? Dead?
    A beautiful film, great acting!

Usually can't be bothered to comment but this one deserves it. For those of you who check through the comments to see if the UA-cam "full movies" are a scam, this one isn't. High quality images, perfect sound, no links or ads. Definitely watch the movie here and avoid all the idiocy on streaming websites.
Secondly, for those who don't like horror: I feel ya. But the scary moments are few in this movie, and even then they're done beautifully. Furthermore, this movie is so much more than horror so I implore you not to stop watching just because it's scary. It's infinitely worth it.

When I was a child, I use to frequently stay at my Grandparents home. Apparently, around the age of 7 as a layed in bed before falling asleep I stopped my Grandmother (who was putting linen away inside a cupboard directly across from the room I was sleeping in) to ask her "whose that lady in the blue nightgown?" that continued to follow her up and down the hall.
Almost 15 years later while discussing the topic of the paranormal I asked my Grandmother if she had any beliefs. She replied by describing that night in full. As shivers ran down my spine in that moment it all came back to me. She continued by telling me that she built this home in the early 60's and lived here ever since, that same year she was caring for her mother who had developed hyperthyroidism then unfortunately passed away. She told me the day she passed away she was wearing a blue nightgown. She then showed me a picture of her mother, then I remembered. I can tell you I've never been more spooked in my life.
