I LOVE that they address the required changes for having a new singer... Noting her voice is different and changing keys and relearning legendary songs is a MASSIVE thing... and it's not "replacing" Chester by making her try and do it as he did... but to change their entire thing while respecting the past. Love it.
I don't have a tattoo, although I'm an LP fan since Hybrid Theory. When our wedding day's band said they'll learn a song (any song) as a present for us, we chose The Messenger. I know it's not a wedding song, but who cares, it was beautiful. I'll never forget it.
Chester as a guy just naturally had a lower voice than Emily and so they just change keys so the song is higher and she can comfortably sing it too! :)
A lot of bands do that, as bands get older the singer can't like they used to they lower the key, or it makes it easier to perform the song, there's a lot of different reasons
Because some singers can’t hit the notes from a song in certain keys so they have to change the key to adjust it to their vocal range. In other words so the song won’t sound off/bad.
Rob was the one who recommended Emily to them actually. He suggested back then that Dead Sara might able to take part in the 2017 tribute show in Hollywood Bowl.
My dad thinks he will in due time. I will say, the fact that he introduced Mike to Emily in the first place does kind of blow up the whole conspiracy theory that he decided to leave because of the controversy surrounding Emily. If we ever do see or hear from him again, I suspect it'll be within the next two years when LP is inevitably inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Rob distanced himself from the band after Chester's death. He didn't even attend the Hybrid Theory or Meteora 20th anniversary events. So he's probably fine with his decision.
I'd say it's the other way around. Mike Shinoda's DNA is in Linkin Park to an inseparable degree. It's HIS band, always has been.
Mike mentioning, Naruto's AMV is so dope, so many people listen and see those fights with linkin parks songs in it!

They're literally breaking the habit when changing the keys haha
Why did they change the keys anyway
@@samridhbharti6638to fit Emily’s voice
I love how Mike acknowledged linkin park's amv 🤣🤣
That made me smile because Lp were part of the original fan amvs
LP is his baby!

Exactly it’s in his DNA! ❤️
Love this interview, there's a lot of heart in it
I can't believe he actually mentioned Naruto... Link Park plays a major role in the Naruto AMVs on UA-cam.
It was Dragon Ball for me, i discovered Linkin Park by downloading random Dbz amvs from Kazaa i think 😂
My Beautiful biggest biggest one proud my true love Mike Shinoda 💚🖤💚🖤💚
"I knew it was big but, fuck... like, shit" is so wild out of context hahaha
No lie, I discovered LP through Naruto AMVs when I was a kid
I’m am not a musician. Why did they need to change the key? For Emily? Curious.

@@jonathanbouthillette753 or the singer changes and they need to put the songs in the new singers range, like with LP

Simple. Females has higher register than males.
I wonder if Rob Bourdon regrets not rejoining.

Rob recommended Emily to the band. I think Rob might regret it but, he’s respecting Collin taking his place.
Hopefully we don't have a Mike Portnoy situation where he decides he wants to rejoin, but can't now because they have a full time replacement.

Breaking the Habit, sounds better in the key it is now.
I have to agree. For me, personally, the original key sounded "artificial", I guess. As if it was compressed.
Scientology is in his DNA now too
You're pathetic.
But there you go, bud. You just got the attention you desperately wanted
