I’d be embarrassed driving it. The whole essence of a 500 is the rasp from the exhaust and to mimic that in an electric car is ridiculous!
I Would Not Pay £37,000 For That Tiny Car ,The Petrol one Was a Cheap Small Car ,So Its Lost the engine and So Costs Double The Price for Less Range and Performance ? How Is That Good ?

@@cinchIt's an electric car. So it isn't faster. It is quicker to a certain speed, then it tops out. Then you wait 30mins to an hour to do it again. 595 wins

You’re all missing the point. It’s electric. That means it’s a greener lifestyle choice. Clearly not for most of you here. The idea is to cut emissions and encourage more responsible choices in our lives. Why anyone would want a petrol gas guzzler is beyond me!! I had a Competizione and this is way better. The old Abarth was getting long in the tooth, dated looks, 5 speed, low tech generally. My only gripe is I wish they’d retained the Brembo brakes/perforated discs as they just looked the part.
Who even pronounces Abarth the way he does 🤷🏻♂️ so annoying.
If you want electric, get the normal 500e. The Abarth should be petrol.

Can’t compare it with the petrol version, that electric so called Abarth is an abomination. Petrol Abarth is the way forward not this electric crap.
It's a more expensive none alcoholic beer, i prefer the cheaper alcohol beer.

I’ve had both, Competizione and now the 500e. Would never go back to the 595. Design wise it’s seen better days. Inside by comparison it’s just awful with outdated tech and instrumentation. Half you lot here living in yesterday’s world trying to spin that Windows 98 was way better than the the current iMac. This new Abarth is a premium product. Unless you’ve sat in it, driven it, lived with it you really don’t know what you’re talking about.

I think the price of electric cars will be set against the level of demand. Subsequently if take-up drops below target then prices will drop until sales reach planned levels. (Currently though it seems demand for Electric vehicles is still 35% higher than originally expected by 2023)…
And with the growing success of brands like MG, European brands will be under pressure to compete. Although Abarth doesn't seem to worried about that at the moment 😆

I like the design i think it looks cool but unfortunately poor range no gears and technically no sound means me like most wont be changing our abarth petrols anytime soon

The fact you ran the battery down so it couldn't complete the timed element without power reduced makes the premise stupid.
Hey! The power only cut on the last corner, and we subtracted three-tenths from the time to account for the time the 500e lost once that happened :)

That is the whole idea, you dont want it to have the ice character, that is the point in getting an EV

So you spend all that money for an EV and then it has a fake ice engine sound? Why would anyone want their EV to sound like a wet fart? The idea of getting an EV is to get away from the ice not emulate it.

My Fiat 500 1.2 Fire engine can be faster. 100mph (gps).
Yes, 10 minutes to reach that speed, but you know... 69hp engine.
The 1.2 sounds good also, al least it's a real petrol engine sound.
