Man!! You're a life saver. I've been buying some reels at a boating consignment store really cheap when they appear not to work. I bought a squall 60ld rod and reel combo today for $50. The handle wouldn't turn if the drag was even somewhat tight. Thanks to this video I was able to take it apart. Lose drag cover on the spool is the best I can figure as to what the problem was. I've managed to get 5 tld 15s for $10 each and spent 20 each on bearings. Also picked up 3 tld 25s for $25 each. Now the boat is ready and equipped. Now all I need is some good weather so I can go offshore. Thanks again for the help. These videos have saved me a ton of money on reels.
Thanks for watching and the love! Glad to hear they're helping. Feel free to send a thank you tip by checking out the video description for details. In regards to the Squall.... they can be a little tricky when you get that hard to crank handle issue..... if securing the drag cover wasn't the issue, don't forget to check the pinon bearing.... but the problem may actually be the spindle (main shaft), or even something else. Unfortunately, with this one, you may have to go through a bit of a process of elimination. Wishing some better weather to get out there and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Spread the word about the channel.
Hey any way to reach out to you with an issue i have on my 50ld. Took it apart to clean it and now have a small mushroom head stud and small spring that i can’t figure out where the hell it came from

Hi Hasan. I don't open attachments from my email (tsgreelservice@gmail.com). If you post it on UA-cam and include the video link in this thread, me and the community can see it. If I can't help you, maybe someone else who views it can. Thanks.
Hi. Post a video of what you're referring to so we can all see it. Someone else may have the same problem. Spread the word and be sure to subscribe and click the notify bell, if you have already done so. More vids to come.
I know this video is old but i have been watching them an fixed a squall ld 40 an 4 spinfisher v using your videos. Amazing job. One question. In my squall when i engage the reel. The handle will back spin a few cycles an then lock up. Any advice on what i did wrong?
Thanks for patronizing the channel, Brandon. Glad to hear you find the vids useful. For the Squall 40, if you're referring to the dogs taking too long to engage, you'll need open it back and check that the dogs getting enough grip to engage... you can do this manually, after you open it, by setting the dogs and rotating the spool fairly quickly to reproduce in the field function (be sure to use your finger to gently hold in place the one dog that wants to pop out of place). If the dogs seem like they're not gripping well, remove the dog plate and gently pinch the leaves of each dog together. Reinstall and test until it feels right. If you're referring to reel actually "locking up," then one of the dogs may have popped out while you were putting it back together. See the portion of the video where I talk about reinstalling the dogs for help with this. Let me know if this helped remedy the issue for you.
That did the trick. Had to adjust the dogs. The reel works like new. Im a charter guy an have lots of reels an you saved me a fortune with these videos. Fixed 8 without needing parts just simple maintenance an grease an they function perfect🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi, thanks for watching. Take some deep breaths, start watching at minute 40 and listen carefully to the comments I make about the dogs. Before you do any of that, check the dogs to make sure neither are damaged. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching. The best way to keep it in place is to have the dog that can come completely off the ratchet engaged (set flush against the ratchet) before reassembly. Once it's set, don't move the spool while you're putting the right side on. Line it up as close as possible and then gently push it on. Any significant resistance, take it off and check to make sure the dog is still set. If it is, the resistance is coming from the main/pinion gear marrying.... turn the handle slightly as you push the plate down.

It likely came from your lug.
I saw that you used an oil and two types of grease. What were each called so I could use the appropriate lubricants.
There are many grease/oil options available. Just make sure they're designed for fishing reel use. Thanks. Spread the word.
hi have the same but cant the clutch to work properly and the tension lever to work
Thanks for checking out the video. Sounds like you have frozen issues. Take it to your local repair shop.

Once I put the reel back together it wont reel, then when I take it apart the right dog is off
It can be a bit frustrating, but you'll get it.
Having some troubles keeping that right dog in place
