Yea man, to this day the most blown away by graphics Ive ever been was walking into Chips in Middlesbrough some time in probably 1990, seeing a crowd of kids around a cabinet housing a Japanese copy of sonic before it came out here. Like you said, the speed, and colours, just like nothing that had been before. Gaming perfection. Nice to see you dude.
The only other time that comes close was seeing Gran Turismo 3 running on PS2 for the first time, couldn't believe how real that looked when the sunlight burst through tree cover and stuff. Nothing will ever beat the feeling of blasting through the first level of Sonic though! Cheers for watching mate!
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed! Medievil is an ace game, loving the ps4 version, and can’t believe you’ve never played DKR! One of the top games of that generation!!!
Lol yep I was the same matey went from Amstrad 464 to Mega Drive and wow what an upgrade lol Glad to see you hunting some of the titles most nostalgic to you out.. not so long between videos next time please matey 😂👍
Even bigger improvement from the Amstrad to MD 😂! I’m not only grabbing nostalgic titles, but a big chunk will be! There’s loads of games I never got round to playing that I always wanted to do I shall be picking those up and if I like them I’ll add them to the shelves! Don’t suppose you want a copy of Eat Locals on blu ray do you BTW? Grabbed it in a charity shop a while back and not going to watch it again, I’ll send it your way if you want it, otherwise it’s back to the charity shops!
@@XFile2708it’s not bad mate, just not a keeper for me as I mainly like high action stuff! Send me your address to ninjabearhugatgmaildotcom and I’ll Chuck it in the post next time I’m passing 👍
Sonic was the first MD game I played as well, the music is still great! Completely agree with you Stew about Tetris, its a great little time waste, quick blast game! Never loses its charm! I had N64 as a kid, loved Diddy Kong Racing, the adventure mode was ace! Goldeneye(its aged horribly, play it on xbox gamepass nowadays for the modern controls) & MK64 were me and my pals go-to 4 player games back in the day. Nice to see you grabbing MD games, its like you have come full circle from the old days!
@@SimmyBassline Last time I played Goldeneye was at a gaming event, played 4 player multiplayer and thought the strafing was just awful, felt uncontrollable! Still have loads of great memories of playing the game so will probably just stick to those 😂. I’m only buying great games that I want to play this time round, no room in my collection for filler anymore! Cheers for watching pal!
Haha Love the Sonic story, we've all been there 🤣 I hear you on Goldeneye, it's showing its age but it's still a classic, so many amazing memories from that time period. Agree with you on Diddy Kong Racing, always been a fan of that one. Seeing Medievil in the background reminds me I want to give that a go too. I have it on the PS1 and the purist in me says I should be cracking on with that...but the modern side of me thinks I might be better off prioritizing the new and shinier version!
@@bluetonic78 Cheers mate! I probably will grab Goldeneye at some point, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get into it like back in the day! The strafe controls just feel so alien after all these years of twin stick movements! Spent so many hours on it bitd it’s unreal, me and my best mate managed to open up every single cheat on the game, some of the times you had to set it n 00 difficulty to unlock them were ridiculously hard 😂. Medievil plays really good on PS4 pal, and I love the ps1 version, one of my fav games from the system. I would highly recommend playing the remaster!
Sonic blew my 8 bit ninyendo sock straight off when I popped it in my MD the first time. It felt so different. I remember just sitting listening to the sound test on repeat. Greenford is a game I always wanted as a kid but never did. He seemed like such a cool dude..... but I feel like I haven't missed out I really need to get around to playing it properly. Grown up shhh isn't as fun tho 😂😂 Great to see you back ✌️✌️✌️
I was coming straight from stuff like the Dizzy games and Manic Miner, Sonic was like a dream! Greendog is pretty good fun, loads of hidden stuff to find so plenty of replayability, def not the best game out there, but cheap so worth a blast! Cheers for watching mate!
Yay, finally another vid buddy! Hope life will be getting less hectic for ya. Love to hear your memories of Sonic… I would be buying the bro Liverpool mech from every year on after that 😂 I loved Greendog, the playability is a bit soft but, love the atmosphere to it. You need a lockable case for the gb console. Pleased you’re gonna have a set of some consoles, it’s no good when u need to set them up each time, it’s too much effort I end up not bothering. Love a collect-a-thon and DK64 is the business! Good luck on the slippery slope of collecting again…looking forward to seeing your big package 👀 Nice additions 😉👍
@@RetroHulkster I’d already shot this vid when I was watching your MD collection vid the other day, pretty much every game you highlighted as having great memories of is stuff I have loads of nostalgia for too 😂! Im enjoying collecting way more this time around, think it’s because I’m only picking up the titles that I really want to play through!
@@ninjabearhug so many great games on the megadrive…. You have definitely stumbled on the best way to collect and to try and play them all you’ll get the most out of the collection. Fullsetting nowadays with the prices and rarity the way it is, is just madness 😵💫 Happy hunting buddy 👍
Great to see you back Stew. I was talking about you with Blue tonic today. And then you put up a vid. I'm the same these days mate. I've been watching more films this year. Just playing an hour a day. Sometimes not playing anything for a few days. I love Diddy Long. Definitely better than MK64 for single player. I actually find MK64 quite boring. That's not to say I won't buy it at some point of course lol.
I was wondering why you hadn't put a vid up in a while the other day too! Grown up shit always gets in the way though, nothing we can do about it! I've been buying and watching a ton of blu rays this year, I go through phases where I'm just too knackered to be bothered concentrating on a game! I work long hours and I think I'm getting too old for it tbh :D! Get up at 3am, 76 mile commute, 12 and a half hour shift, the same commute back home, it's a long ass day! I'll def be buying MK64 at some point, but yeah, single player isn't that great, you can finish it in a few play sessions and then it's just Time trials, but when you know all the shortcuts it kind of takes the fun out of it! You bought anything good recently?
Nice looking N64 boxes and great games too. I would say Goldeneye is worth the re-adjustment, it was for me anyway, especially when the soundtrack and silenced gun sound effects kicked in.
@@retrosnipe I’m still torn whether to buy Goldeneye or not, I probably will though. Such a class game with loads of ace memories! Thanks for watching pal!

They’re both fun games, but in all honesty nostalgia plays a big part in both of them for me! Knowing my luck lately I’ll probably drop my Telly when I shift it to build the unit!
Definitely agree DKR is a much better single player game than Mario Kart. I actually decided not to buy Mario Kart after playing DKR back in the day. I think DK64 is also unfairly maligned. It certainly has it's flaws, but it is still better than most games from that era.
@@IrishNerdLife I played the shit out of both bitd, DKR was always my go to game when I was bored in that era though. The multiplayer arenas were a bit crappy, always went with MK for multiplayer!
