It's just how the UK does things. 14 years before he's eligible for parole does not mean he'll get out in 14 years. Some people have gone to prison on year long sentences for trivial offences and end up in there for decades on end because they decide they're too dangerous to have on the streets, but then in the same hand they'll release thousands of prisoners because of overcrowding in the prisons. I doubt he'll get out after 14 years though, no matter how low they run on space.

I have babysat for a baby that screamed a lot, I soothed her because babies cry and would let her stay with me instead of putting her back to bed. My sister was a single mom and would go out and do/get whatever the kids needed. And she would have me stay and look after them. I think UK trials should be televised/streamed like US trials are. We have to rely instead on the media which barely covers these stories if at all. Its sad to have to get it from a US crime news show. For my local area theres a dedicated site which gives a brief 2/3 sentence synopsis on who's been convicted in our area but thats about it. Still, without that we wouldnt know the half of what goes on round here. At least the US allows for cases to be more out there and transparent. Get to hear all the evidence to see how things came to be etc.

I have babysat for a baby that screamed a lot, I soothed her because babies cry and would let her stay with me instead of putting her back to bed. He was there for a little over an hour and went to sleep? WTF? I figured he was shaken. This kid could care less that he killed a baby. How do you allow parole after only 14 years? I thought US justice was crap, I see the UK is just as bad.

I could understand maybe leaving a 4 month old baby with a teenage sibling or cousin or someone super close to your family…for like, five minutes. But not a stranger for over an hour.

My sister was a single mom and would go out and do/get whatever the kids needed. And she would have me stay and look after them. When my niece was born i was about 19 and then my nephew- when i was 25, I was so scared bc these were newborn BABIES! You have to be so careful and alert but also keep your cool and be LOVING. Yes, I was even stressed at 25 bc I didnt have children of my own. At 19, I was used to looking after the older kids (7,11,13,14), not newborns. This mom is crazy, i could never leave my new baby, a baby period with basically a teenager AND stranger, I barely even trust family anymore.
Towards the end where he knows they got him, he just didn’t gaf anymore. This baby had a whole heart attack.
Why leave your baby with a teenage boy? I feel sick for the mum but I wouldn't leave a dog in the care of a teenage boy. He is just as bothered by his toothache as the baby. That tells you all you need to know.

I think UK trials should be televised/streamed like US trials are. We have to rely instead on the media which barely covers these stories if at all. Its sad to have to get it from a US crime news show.
For my local area theres a dedicated site which gives a brief 2/3 sentence synopsis on who's been convicted in our area but thats about it. Still, without that we wouldnt know the half of what goes on round here.
At least the US allows for cases to be more out there and transparent. Get to hear all the evidence to see how things came to be etc.
