This man was actually a Captain from the Napoleonic Wars in real life in France, fighting for Napoleon. He was rewarded the Medal of Honor in his good skills at leading armies into battle and all.
He went home after the defeat at the Battle of Waterloo and a couple years later wanted to continue the Wars in the Napoleonic Wars and so decided to play this game and used his good leading skills to lead them just like in this video. Great man he was....great man.
I wonder what the enemy team was thinking when they saw a French accented dude and a bunch of memers holding muskets it must have been terrifying
Funny enough at first you usually find it as an easy target or something to Make fun of the enemy about but when they actually show their discipline enough to do proper valley fires it does get really scary especially if your team doesn’t notice and they get caught in the middle of the ball because it will rip them to shreds I’ve seen this multiple times in games like this

I'm not sure where the British idea of a French accent came from, but it goes at least as far back as Monty Python in the 1960's as they did this accent a lot. I think there must have been a famous French actor in the 1940's or 50's and people in Britain just thought *"That must be what all French people sound like!"* because the guy in the video is doing the standard impression we do of French folk 👌

You know this man enjoys his life when he can do this freely and people fallowed him through it.
Props to this dude man this is the shit we love to see
This small firing line in this game is way more effective than a massive group of bunched up undisciplined troops taking single shots whenever they feel like it. Even a game like this when taken seriously shows why they used certain tactics back then that we don't use today. When the first world war broke out, hundreds upon hundreds of men were slaughtered every hour during battles due to people using dated weapons with outdated tactics. One of the most common tactics used along the western front is one side throwing as many soldiers as possible at the defending trench until they were overwhelmed. This tactic was used for most of the war. When John Monash came along, he was one of the first commanders to take that little bit of extra time to strategize his attacks. Because of the massive advancement of technology between gunpowder warfare and the great war, a whole new arsenal of tactics came along with it. Monash's first major victory consisted of getting the Germans used to common gas attacks at the same time every day with no following attack. With their visibility limited due to the gas masks, he then used old and noisy aircraft to cover up the sound of tanks rolling across the field. Victory came with very little bloodshed. But back in the 18th century, you could take 150 men, line them up and not be afraid of them being gunned down by machine guns.
True, I believe that the civil war of the United States was the last war that would be fought in the "conventional" way with two armies facing each other forming lines, and it was the last and the bloodiest because of the implementation of new weapons such as Gaitling machine gun and semi-automatic rifles and revolvers.
Matias Mattera that isn’t “conventional” warfare that’s “traditional” warfare, also the civil war was he first of its kind due to the implementations of guerrilla warfare and trench warfare, as well as technological advancement
You said it yourself. If the troops in WW1 fought like in 1800 they would either be destroyed by rapid fire weapons or explosives, shells and bombs.

Matthew Smith..........noooooooo thats not true....(remembers playing scotland the brave between 10 enemies and getting slaughtered)
