An exclusive video series for Patreons and UA-cam Channel Members of Toy Polloi and TP2.
Episode 5 - Transformers Blast Off! - Originally released 5/10/2023
There are some vintage Transformers that are always missing parts and the G1 Decepticon Blast Off is one of those. His wings and tail fin are very often missing and as I am getting more confident with what parts I can make from scratch I thought it would be fun to see if I can scratch build those parts using Styrene sheets and Lego.
    Thanks for your ongoing support.
If you would like a question answered in the next episode of OTCM please leave a comment under the video on UA-cam.

Blast Off is my favorite combaticon. I always wanted one, Was on my list. But never got him. I had 3 out of 5 Combaticons, Vortex Onslaught & Swindle. Birthday gifts of 86. It wasn't until Generation 2 When I started to Have more money. It was Jr High for me. I got right back into Transformers in 93 & the comic ran Came out in September I remember I remember I got $20 a week allowance. I right a way Bought the 2 I never had before, Blast off & Brawl. I started to buy 2 of each figure. When they had sales. One still in the package. I remember The G2 ones I have sealed. Still Have KB toys 2 for $5. & I remember target had a Bunch of G2 swIndles I bought at least 2 of those. They went all the way down to $1 on clearance.. Why I like blast off so much. I have both versions Of g1 metal & plastic chest too.

The best thing about all of the Gestalts/ Combiners is the fact they're all interchangeable minus Devastator, Predaking, and Monstructor.

Dave, in regards to capes, ponchos, etc. I ve recently discovered the wonderful use of baby wipes. They have that perfect cloth lowland feel at 1/18 scale.
They also take part extremely well and hold their shape easily, aided by PVA if any additional shaping is needed after drying. Cheers!

Nice fix but I'm slightly disappointed that you didn't do the scoring of the wing detail. I was curious to what methods could be used for it.

It would be easy enough to do I just didn't feel it added that much to the final figure. I may come back to these and build them again now I know what can be done. Cheers

@@toypolloi that would be excellent, or seeing it used on another project would be fine too.

Dave, thanks so much for this video you've offered so many insightful tips and how tos I'm just utterly in your debt.
    thank you.
Last night I was working on an action figure of my own that involved a cape and I've seen you produce several capes for instance your Luke and Leia Endor figures and you had some concerns from time to time about the way the cloth or the material laying correctly once you had fashioned it.
I used PVA glue, (an idea just popped into my head), to help shape and hold the shape of a cape and it worked out great just thought I would share that with you
