How strong does the laser need to be in order to cut through a 2mm steel panel? I'm trying to find out if this machine would be strong enough to cut all holes and shapes into a synthesizer panel (eurorack format) to mount potmeters and jacks on. I hope you can answer my question!

Cutting .1mm steel is essentially cutting tinfoil. Nice, but you can use a cricut for the same. The one pass on walnut is pretty awesome to see though, but like all higher powered lasers, they need a real air system (i.e. compressed air) to ensure the char doesn't build up.
One thing I'd particularly like to see is an optical diagram of the laserps focal length. I have the 10w module and it's focal length is like 3mm at most.

Diode Lasers don’t cut acrylic well, but I saw there’s an IR laser module coming soon which should be suitable for acrylic

Is 304 stainless steel, thicker than 0.1mm, possible over multiple passes? What's the max thickness?

Hi, we are currently testing stainless steel which is thicker than 0.1mm, I will let you know if we have the result.
