A bit more of a serious take on the "What if Talked" formula. Not as many jokes or taking things out of context, but still with some humor. I hope you all enjoy it! I plan to put out episodes of Dishonored more rapidly while I work on bigger episodes of other series. I hope you enjoy it!

Dishonored one and two are some of my favorite games of all time.

Even when he’s being more serious, he’s still ironically funny.
“This isn’t goodbye, because you’re going to see my blade one more time as it slides across your throat” Is an amazing line.
4:42 I see how Corvo is a character that actually keeps track of the situation unlike other characters on this channel. He’s actually paying full attention to a conversation. I’m honestly a fan of making the characters being more than someone who complains about the absurdity of a situation and roasting people for needing help with simple stuff or just plain sucks as a person.
Who else can't wait for Corvo to realize the hearts voice is the Empress, and thus he's literally holding his lovers heart in his hand?

Seriously though, for the first half of the video, you could actually see Corvo's dialogue being legitimately part of it. Lots of lets plays/roleplays would have Corvo hate Emily or something because it's a humorous subversion of what the game expects you to feel. I really appreciate how series like this and BOTW play the characters and the situations straight. You don't always have to be an a-hole to be funny.

I'm really liking the more serious version, with his humor still there.
i like how he actually takes into consideration the position they are in, the guy feels like he is Corvo, he is the bodyguard who is set up to take the fall, so he's going to do everything in his power to ensure everyone responsible dies

Honestly, the way you voiced Corvo is what I was hoping for. When a character is well armed then you have them joking about how they are going to viciously kill some asshole that has it coming. Most of the other characters are terrified because they don’t have the proper firepower to kill monsters. Corvo has weapons and knows how to use them. Nice touch on making Corvo really act like Emily’s dad since he is actually is her father.
3:00 An entire 30 seconds of Corvo being a funny and caring dad to Emily in his own unique way. He’s going to tear down the entire city to find her lol

This is a nice surprise! Dishonored is such an underrated game and I'm happy it's getting some love!
Edit: After seeing this first part, I wonder if this will be a Low Chaos run or High Chaos
Hey it's debatable whether it's underrated or not. It was massively popular and successful and the sequel was even better. Granted it's not as big as something like Doom but it hasn't been forgotten

@@PressStartToLaugh I like that from a narrative perspective. Corvo has all the reason in the world to want to just cut through everybody who stands in his way, but after seeing the pictures Emily draws, he would want to do better since he knows she's watching

I loved this new serious persona. Not that I don’t love the lighter air in your other series, but this was a very interesting change of pace.

I love the tone of this one still entertaining as hell but also shows off your range I would love to see more like this, this channel never disappoints, and each upload is just superb.
I admit, it's actually fun hearing you go for dramatic characterization rather than your normal comedy dubs.

This is a very refreshing take on the What If Talked formula. I still love the more joke-filled ones to death and honestly kind of prefer them, but every now and then, a more serious take is really nice. An excellent job, PSTL!
Not a game i expect you guys to do...but a welcome suprise all the same. Especially love the part when Corvo raged while in jail. Man had some serious Kratos energy there

I am so excited to see what direction you take Dishonored in the future.
The characters in these videos come in two categories.
A.) The Unwilling protagonist. Complete cowards. Or "sane people" as they liked to be called. Putting the unathletic everyman into the absurd situation. Will usually scream about how crazy and/or absurd the situation is. Is a total dork. Will complete the adventure kicking and screaming. Like Issac or the Rookie in Ghostbusters.
B.) The well-worn badass. Less of a straight man, and more used to the antics of the world. Is generally completely unimpressed with everything in front of them save for the inanane things. Humor comes from their sarcasm and dry wit. Is still a complete dork. Like Corvo here or Doom God.
Never played the game, but this ought to be entertaining with you guys voicing the main character. :D

I have to admit, I was expecting a slightly zany Corvo like so many of your What If [You] Talked videos. It's a little weird, but also sort of refreshing. I hope this becomes an actual series. A shame you won't be able to do the DLC or Dishonored 2 seeing as how the protags talk in those. Would've loved to hear Wibbles interpretation of Emily if she were a silent protag XD

I've done some voice acting outside of UA-cam. Sadly it is a very hard field to break into. I'mma just keep doing youtube and hopefully some devs will finally take notice and hire me :-)

Definitely love the humorous takes on characters, but I think the serious take definitely suits Corvo better. Excellent work as always.

Yeah. Just gonna be more fun to watch at the end of the day. Being all stealthy is fun and challenging to play, but for an audience to watch in a roleplay scenario? Eh... I'm doing some stealth stuff though.

I think the "if the protagonist talks" only works with the first game in this series cause both protags talk frequently in the second game

I remember Dishonored. I didn't played the game but i still liked it. I think you nailed that acting and I'm curious of what you could say in the next parts if you will keep this project. Its true that is a serious game with the sickness and everything else but I think a joke here and there is possible.

I like it. It is good to get some variety on different kinds of protagonists and stories rather than have all of them just screaming in terror and cracking nervous jokes as hilarious as those can be. The small bits of humor were great as well such as Corvo freaking out about the heart being real or complaining about how Emily needs her eyes and ears checked since she is so bad at hide-and-seek.
Hm i usually like to see people endings, abd seeing you killed all the gaurds im thinking your doing high chaos, but hey i might be wrong, love the video!
