We used to laugh at Paul Harvey in the 60s. We thought what he said was ridiculous. Now I applaud him.

You used to laugh at him? In 1976, the election where Jimmy Carter was elected, my class of a tiny little Texas town, elected Paul Harvey for President. He was awesome.

Paul Harvey was a radio broadcaster. I was small in the 1960s and recall my mom listening to him on the radio. He was awarded The Congressional Medal of Honor a few years ago for his lifes work. He passed away a few years ago. I will suggest a few of his multiple broadcasts::: A LETTER FROM GOD, FREEDOM TO CHAINS, IF ABORTION DEBATE. you will be stunned on how accurate he saw things.

I remember in 1980 listening to Paul Harvey
I think Paul Harvey died around 2006. I listened to him on the radio since i was little in the 80s untill he died in the 2000s. He was a master communicator/story teller and his transitions into the commercial segments were sometimes so seamless sometimes i was ushered into the advertisments without knowing it. This was before my time but it is haunting how accurate it is. "Our father who art on Washington" is probably refering to social security.
No, he's just referencing those people who look to the Federal government to fix everything, and by doing so, empower it to grow beyond it's previous, until it's in our lives always, it's become a monster that chews up citizens and spits them out.
@@piperp9535your statement is true but did he not say it was the elderly who would pray these words? That give me the impression of people relying on the government into retirement. Not disagreeing with your overall assessment at all.
@@DWmaniac4n6 He said many things, this piece was only one. I used to catch his show on the radio every day driving home from school. Mostly it was simple entertainment, "The rest of the story", was usually very informative and delivered exceedingly well. But he influenced two generations at least. I doubt everyone is as fond of his work as I am. But I also know there are many that are. Paul Harvey certainly seemed like a good man, and a person could do worse than to set him as one to emulate. The problem with this particular work, is that while it was intended as a warning, it may have been used as a road map. Ask yourself a question, and figure the odds. Which is more likely? A: That Paul Harvey was a savant and could see the future so accurately? or B: That see saw a future, one that could be possible, one that perhaps China, Russia? One that others said "looks good to me", "I think it'll get the job done", let's work to bring all this about.
@@piperp9535 I agree, I loved hearing him on the radio. I wish I could hear "the rest of the story" segments again on cd or something they were really captivating to me. I can see how someone could use it as a roadmap as you say. I do believe that there were already well established groups in the US working in that direction well before this broadcast. I can't say how much he knew, but it seems that he had an idea what direction we were aimed.

If you think for a second his predictions were him just guessing you’re absolutely wrong. He is too right on the spot to what is happening now! To predict this far ahead and this correctly for our times, then I don’t know what to say to you.

His view on this is inline with the “Screw Tape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. I wonder if Paul had read that book before this story.

I'm America one of the first things was taking ten commandments off property of courthouses. Big mistake in my eyes. If you don't believe then don't. Don't remove it just turn your heads buttwipes
All that stuff was already happening in his time, that was during the 1960s .. with the hippie era and the Sexual revolution, both at about the time he said all that. Its nothing that amazing, anyone could say the same now.. and 20 years from now be as accurate, all he did is instead of saying "according to the current trends, these things will happen", he's placing the blame on the devil"... So how about "if i were the devil, Id let people blame me , so tthey don't take responsibility for there own actions".
At least they knew the difference between right and wrong and what a boy and a girl was back then !!!!! But like he said the devil would get worst and has !!!! The battle between good and evil has always existed regardless of what name it’s called !!!! But it does fit like the man said !!!!!
