    I bought 2 of these bats for my 12/24 MK trolling motor. Fully satisfied after replacing 2 group 29 hvy ass batteries. Hole shot increase is unbelievable … 2003 Ranger 185VS 150 Yamaha. First charge was on NOCO Gen 5x 3 charger. Next morning batteries were 14.2 & 14.4. I’m happy with them.

      Amazing the difference going lithium from lead acid makes! Lighter, more power, more reliable. Thanks

    Thanks for the testing this size battery would be perfect for my 30 pound trolling motor on my kayak 🤙. I plan on doing some testing this summer, comparing lithium batteries versus lead acid and see which one is the best between the two 🤙

    Thank you so much for producing this video. This is the closest video I found to answer some of my charging questions. I brought one of these batteries, being new to this, I wasn't sure of how many amps a battery like this could take. I have a IOTA DLS 45 AMP charger from a RV. I purchased the IOTA IQ-LifePO module for it, to charge some batteries I have on my bench. The IOTA charges at BULK Stage 14.7V and FLOAT Stage 13.6V at 45 Amps. Does this hurt my battery? In your video you are using a 50 Amp charger, does this damage the battery? How do you determine how many amps can be used. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thx!

    I wonder if they're going to make a "mini" version of this battery? We know the 100AH mini is a 4S-2P configuration of pouch cells, so they could make a very skinny 4S battery with those?

    Not much if any change at 1C vs. 0.2C because Peukert constant is nearly 1.0 for LiFePO4 compared to 1.2 or worse for lead.

    • @BradCagle
      @BradCagle  Рік тому +1

      Ahh, good to know. I'm wondering when others will catch on to this. So many still going 0.2c test, even many LiFePO4 cell manufactures state higher than 0.2c for test procedure.

    Do "they" make a 50 aH with internal heating? I see 100 aH batteries with it but not 50's

      I have not seen heated 50Ah

    if the battery rested at 13.326 - Would this mean that it's resting at 90%? Why would it be if it is a brand-new battery?
    I thought it should rest at 13.6 for it to be 100%. for a brand-new battery. I am new to this battery knowledge, so I'm not sure if I'm thinking this correctly. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

      With LiFePO4 the voltage is not a good indication of charge (SOC). At 13.3v resting the battery can be fully charged.

      @@TheCrawdadman Good report. Mine did two or three and went to 90% capacity. I needed minimum of 400Ah and they were saying I had to but two new ones (200 ah) close together or at the same time. That wasn’t going to happen with such poor performance too!. I decided the low end EG4 400Ah (expandable to 16 units) (anytime) 12V and today was the first basic test. Full fledge power outage for about 12 hours and more on the way. I am using a Victron multiples II 50 amp version (can expand into it) and have a temporary 120V output and easily kept a freezer and frig going. The power is on and fro now recharging. I learned though full discharge is not okay; for my solar type of power back up or off grid the batteries will last longer to not do a total DOD dept of discharge. So more capacity with lower rate or not so much discharge will be better for me. EG4 24 and 48 does have means to work though the Carbon GX … so I am told. I have the 12V which does not.

      @@davidpatrick1813 Yikes, lost 10% capacity after a few cycles?

    • @davidpatrick1813
      @davidpatrick1813 Рік тому +1

      @@BradCagle I don't know if it had full capacity to start with and "maybe" 3 cycles. Maybe they used smaller capacity cells and labeled it bigger. Few I think means up to 50 ... ain't no way. Was managed by Victron charger. I caught the issue when even a radio would cycle off protecting itself.
