Love this strategy walkthrough. However, the key thing missing is stating that you need a warm audience / group / email list and Autoresponder to run this rapid launch process. So, I think it would have been beneficial to have outlined these as pre-requisites fo this strategy to work. However a great strategy for those with a warm audience of followers!

@@Thrivethemes I shall patiently await the next video! I re-watched this video 2x more, took notes and took a screen shot of your full process flow at the end. The product I have is a '12 week lean muscle' workout program eBook (about 80 pages) and I have spent a LOT of time making sure it provides the best value. However, I will only sell it for either $9.95, $14.95, or $19.95 (haven't decided and need to research other product prices in this genre). My original flow was to offer a free condensed version of the product, pitch the product on the thank you page and email series to follow (I will segment so that those who purchase do not receive the promotion emails), and when the purchase is made they will receive a mix of content/value along with affiliate products I promote that compliment the workout. Once this series ends, I will move them to my main list to where I'll send only 1-2 emails per week. I know this is a lot, but if you can offer any additional advice (or even use this for one of your videos) that would be helpful! Thank you (also, I am a Thrive customer and LOVE to ease of use of your products)
Thank you so much for the valuable video Shane! I’m building my first free course and launching it soon with Thrive Themes! Love your videos and big fan!!
Question. how many people receive your firt email? o how large was your list? This because i want to measure and know what is the “limit” of people that are interest to define if the course have a good market.
I'd be super interested in a video about how to rapidly create a course. In other words, this same philosophy applied to creating the course itself, one that costs $70-200.
Am launching my first digital product online for the first time...am building the sales page and other pages but I completely have no list...in fact I have no prelaunch and have a low budget ,am doing everything my self....what should I do to have some success with this first launch. Thanks for sharing your expertise
how did you build your email audience list for the validation, was it a third party data or directory list or in-house data/primary data from previous offerings?
Thank you for your amazing videos - AND amazing products , I am a huge fan. Given I am currently building a new business from scratch and my E-Mail audience is currently containing zero people I just take this video as an inspiration to just start with a landing page - announcing a meditation online course. Let’s see where it goes 🙆🏻♀️☺️🙏🏻.
Great video Shane!...I wonder if the same strategies apply in times of Covid-19. I guess the principles are the same but the behaviour of people has changed...
Shane, one question on the sales page... If you’re using something like Woo Commerce for payment/delivery, would you make your product page your sales page, or would you create a separate sales page that links to the Woo Commerce product page? (Thank you)
Ideally, you'd want a separate sales page and link directly to the checkout process. Product pages tend not to convert well. And extra steps in the process tend to lower conversion rates as well. Most importantly: you can't be limited or restrained on your sales page. If you have to try and squeeze a good sales page into an existing container of a woocommerce product page, you're fighting an uphill battle from the start.
Congrats! Nice video! What if you don't have an email list yet or your list is too small? About the strategies you have used: I like the simplicity on all of them. Something that I really need to do in my next launch and the next and so on... I think that is the best way to gradually increase the size of my email list! Thank you!
I'm doing the same...building my lists, and I'm finding that running ads for that (even offering a free product to get them into your funnel) can be a bit tricky and pricy.
Thank you for your comment! The fastest way to get an audience to do a launch like this is through networking: find someone you can partner up with. Someone with an audience, but no product (or no recent product). You can partner up with them, run the launch and split the profits. The other option is to do good old content marketing and build a list over the course of a few months (that's how I built a list for my very first launch).
@@Thrivethemes Dude, I need to get back to blogging and schedule time for this! A great blog that picks up engaging traffic is the best advertising for getting opt-ins and sales!
Hey Shane! Thanks a lot for your video and tips! You're amazing! I'm a newbie on Thrive and feeling absolutely enchanted with all I got until now!! One question here: in these 4 days between the final purchase deadline and the beginning of the course were you able to create all classes and put it into the platform? How has the next step? Or since the first purchase, you started recording the classes? In the scenario, people buy on the last day, what to do?
Question: what if the customers don’t tell you how to improve or message you back after landing on the lean page? Speaking from a consumers point of view if I land on a lean page that does not clarify the message or what they offer I would not email back I would simply leave the page! So how do you go about this?
By that time you have their email address you could just email them and ask them or provide some type of free training as a reward for giving their feedback. An example is my testimonial page. maybe you can copy this idea...I tell them that in exchange for answering a few questions or giving their feedback, they get access to a bonus training + a Workbook. They don't get access to the training until they answer the questions. I have a video on that page explaining the details of how to get the free training. The very next page goes straight to the training with a button to download the workbook See this example here: yoursuccesslifestyles.com/testimonial
I'm curious, obviously, you had an email list to ask and validate your idea, how large is that list? And would this work to post on social media instead of emailing a list? My favorite step is #6, the Non-Salesy Launch sequence which provides value, starts a conversation, and gets more info to build a better course and sales page.
Yes, the strategy involves a mailing list to start with. This could work via social media but it's far more difficult to reach and engage people on social channels. With a mailing list of a few thousand people, you can get a result like what I showed here. On social, you'd probably need 10x or 100x the reach, to get the same result.
@@Thrivethemes I'd love to know the strategies you used to build your email list. Did you run ads to get people to sign up (offering a free product)? Or was is solely done based on people signing up via your website from SEO content?
Shane, I love this content. There is one crucial piece missing, however. You had a very warm list to send this offer to. That is a world of difference from sending completely cold traffic to this offer. Would love to see you run cold traffic to this exact same funnel and let us know the results. Same deal - share the ad copy, the targeting, etc. Would skyrocket how helpful this video is.
That makes a difference, yes. My approach would be to build a warm audience first rather than do a launch to a cold audience. I find that way easier. However, I'm already planning a case study along the lines of what you suggest. Coming later this year. :)
@@Thrivethemes Thanks so much for the quick reply. Really looking forward to seeing this case study. Cause building a warm audience take a lot of time and (usually) money.
@@Glow0110 It doesn't have to cost anything. I think it's a myth that building an audience is this huge obstacle. You can build a large enough audience to do a successful launch in a few months of consistent effort, using only free methods.
@@Thrivethemes Can you expand upon this statement? Would be great insight for your audience to discuss how you can build a large enough audience in a few months using free methods :)
Shane, also, are you willing to share the tools you used for: - Platform for the course - Payment/delivery Also, can you share the ad/promotion techniques? I think this is the biggest hang-up. I’m confident in creating digital products but I have massively failed in running FB ads, even when drilling down to target the audience...I end up spending way more $ than what I make.
Hi Jason, I used SendOwl to process payments and run an affiliate program, Thrive Apprentice to create my course (in WordPress), ActiveCampaign for the email markteing. I didn't run any ads for this launch. We've got a few facebook ad related strategies on the blog: - thrivethemes.com/your-first-facebook-ad/ - thrivethemes.com/6-facebook-retargeting-tricks/ - thrivethemes.com/conversion-win-using-facebook/
@@Thrivethemes Awesome, I didn't realize I could use Apprentice for this! I will start learning this because I want to do a metal guitar lesson series (this is of course aside from my workout program venture I listed in my other response). For eBook sales, do you recommend just using Woo Commerce or is there a Thrive product I can use instead? I did watch the video you have on Gumroad so that's an option too. Trying not to get hung up on the details here but want to make sure I don't make any major mistakes that can't be fixed!
New video is out: ua-cam.com/video/uhXUldg7BT4/v-deo.html I don't recommend using WooCommerce. If you're a bit tech phobic, I think Gumroad is one of the best ways to sell an ebook quickly. SendOwl is also a great solution and the one I used for my course launch.
I love the idea of sending customers to a survey. I also really like the value-driven email sequence with the final sales email. Sometimes I feel like I'm yelling at people when I use more traditional sales sequences. Question: Is there a way to access each piece of this launch? The emails, sales page 1.0, sales page 2.0. etc.? Cheers!
Shane... It's been proven the most important part of the sales page is the headline correct? Let's get some text animation effects, please!!! Even just making the "Typefocus Animation" a one time only animation option so the headline looks to be typed out once on page load would go a long way.
All well and good, you mentioned low to almost no cost. I think it's important to note the cost of website hosting, CRM system, creating an email list, there are some costs involved, although low... I'd say you need a few hundred at least.
Great content as usual, I’ve been a thrive customer for more years than I can remember, awesome value! Just wondering what email marketing platform you are using?

An example is my testimonial page. maybe you can copy this idea...I tell them that in exchange for answering a few questions or giving their feedback, they get access to a bonus training + a Workbook. They don't get access to the training until they answer the questions. I have a video on that page explaining the details of how to get the free training. The very next page goes straight to the training with a button to download the workbook
See this example here:

Thank you so much for sharing, def valuable!
You're very welcome! I'm glad you liked it.
Can you share how many subscribers you have ? And what was your conversion ?
Really great video. How do you formulate the scripts/content for your emails and determine the sequencing?
Interested as well..
What do you use for the sales page?
Shane, also, are you willing to share the tools you used for:
- Platform for the course
- Payment/delivery
Also, can you share the ad/promotion techniques? I think this is the biggest hang-up. I’m confident in creating digital products but I have massively failed in running FB ads, even when drilling down to target the audience...I end up spending way more $ than what I make.
Hi Jason,
I used SendOwl to process payments and run an affiliate program, Thrive Apprentice to create my course (in WordPress), ActiveCampaign for the email markteing.
I didn't run any ads for this launch. We've got a few facebook ad related strategies on the blog:
- thrivethemes.com/your-first-facebook-ad/
- thrivethemes.com/6-facebook-retargeting-tricks/
- thrivethemes.com/conversion-win-using-facebook/
@@Thrivethemes Awesome, I didn't realize I could use Apprentice for this! I will start learning this because I want to do a metal guitar lesson series (this is of course aside from my workout program venture I listed in my other response).
For eBook sales, do you recommend just using Woo Commerce or is there a Thrive product I can use instead? I did watch the video you have on Gumroad so that's an option too.
Trying not to get hung up on the details here but want to make sure I don't make any major mistakes that can't be fixed!
New video is out: ua-cam.com/video/uhXUldg7BT4/v-deo.html
I don't recommend using WooCommerce. If you're a bit tech phobic, I think Gumroad is one of the best ways to sell an ebook quickly. SendOwl is also a great solution and the one I used for my course launch.
investing in a good camera is needed for UA-cam. Although some phones can do it. Most successful UA-camrs use a good camera.
What if you don't have an email list yet? How can I rapidly validate my idea?
Very helpful !
I love the idea of sending customers to a survey. I also really like the value-driven email sequence with the final sales email. Sometimes I feel like I'm yelling at people when I use more traditional sales sequences. Question: Is there a way to access each piece of this launch? The emails, sales page 1.0, sales page 2.0. etc.? Cheers!
Thanks for your comment! You can download a PDF with the email copy here: thrivethemes.com/online-course-1/
you are amazing mate #amitabhdayal #actor #filmmaker #creator
Shane... It's been proven the most important part of the sales page is the headline correct?
Let's get some text animation effects, please!!! Even just making the "Typefocus Animation" a one time only animation option so the headline looks to be typed out once on page load would go a long way.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Loved this video...Thanks
What if there is no email list to send your course idea out to? Then what? 😕
All well and good, you mentioned low to almost no cost. I think it's important to note the cost of website hosting, CRM system, creating an email list, there are some costs involved, although low... I'd say you need a few hundred at least.
Great stuff - exactly what i was searching for. Is there sth like a PDF or a Blogpost version with all the screenshots and Emails?
You can download a PDF with those here: thrivethemes.com/online-course-1/
Great content as usual, I’ve been a thrive customer for more years than I can remember, awesome value! Just wondering what email marketing platform you are using?
Great stuff, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
What email program were you using to tag buyers and send a "PS" to non-buyers?
