@@teohontech7141 Could you please showcase (with a picture or something) how the tablet performs with LOTS of external light (like direct sunlight or a lamp)? I am used to using kindle with no frontlight and as seen in your video maybe the contrast would be a bit low. Do you think that only with dark enhancement the problem would be solved?
      Many thanks!

@@Basilisks666 The e-ink canvas has 5/5 stars contrast under direct sunlight. It's no different from reading newspaper under direct sunlight.
For indoor use, you may have to use the front light depending on how bright the room is. I usually set the front light at 50-70% as I find the e-ink canvas grey quite dark. Battery life with that is 8-10hrs or more.

Nice review. I just got the NA3C and love it so far. My takes:
    1. The fast auto rotate is subjective, for me i am blessed because few weeks back i bought and returned a similar product with 3 to 4 second response time prior rotate lol
    2. The pen slip inside when picking up again subjective, i didnt have such issue
    3. USB c position, indeed a huge design mistake, and wonder whats the logic not following the best practice
    4. The AI recocognision when erasing and highlighting notes in neoreader is amazing, shud demo that
    5. The portrait cover folding method is wrong, from the top it should looks like '_/\_'
    6. The note series had came a long way, hence the product position, hardware+ software integration is pretty mature (including the form factor)
    7. The default note taking app have layering feature, may be important add on for drawing works?
    8. The pen latency on the default apps, tested by another UA-camr, seems to be a new king for now, surpassing Kindle Scribe
I once torned between TUCPro vs NA3C and finally gotten this, make me realised my usage actually dont need the snapdragon 855 and i am absolutely happy with this!🎉

Do you have any older Boox devices? Curious to see how the updates work. I had an old Boox Note plus tablet. The first year I had it, it was amazing! I was also impressed with the constant feature updates. After two years though, Onyx was still pushing feature updates and it kept ruining my device. Every update I hoped they fixed the issues, but it just made things worse, to the point it’s now fully bricked.
I mostly just wanted basic sketching and note taking functionality. Doesn’t need much new things. I’m worried seeing that they have so many devices released so often, maybe this is the plan?
I’m now using a Fujitsu Quadreno. Has less functions, but for sketching and brainstorming it’s more than good enough. Would have gotten a remarkable, but no shops I know of sell them, and the Fujitsu one you could buy in shops in Japan (same with Onyx when I lived in HK).
Anyway curious what’s onyx long term track record.

Thanks for great review! At the moment i have Pocketbook inkpad 3pro. Want to try the best reader in 10inch size for reading not just books, but also magazines and newspapers. Also has to be on android so i can download newspapers applications. Is it this model Boox note air 3 C is today the best model on the market? What is better for my purposes (reading only) color or BW, Boox note air 3C or Boox note air 3? Thanks in advance

    • @teohontech7141
      @teohontech7141  5 місяців тому

If the magazines or newspapers have fixed size pages, e.g. PDF, you'll probably still have to zoom in to get the text since text size is not adjustable. If you're using magazine or newspaper apps, then it shouldn't be a problem if there is text size adjustment.
Not sure whether this is the best model since I don't review that many e-readers, but this one is pretty good. More specifically, it doesn't feel laggy when flipping the pages which is most important to me.
As for colours or BW, it's really personal preference. If price difference isn't that big, having colours is nice.

No. The color reproduction is great, especially if you are reading technical documents with colored graphs/tables. There is no downside to it as the BW performance is the same.

It isn't expensive. You clearly don't understand the cost of E Ink technology (and the demand isn't as high as LCD). You can't expect this to be cheap like an LCD screen so either stop being poor or just shut up.

People who buy e-readers are buying for the e-ink display. Otherwise, there are actually many 10-inch Android tablets around USD 200 that have pretty good LCDs too. You don't even need to spend that much on an iPad.

I use it on and off, but not for continuous long stretch. When recording a review, it will be on for 4-6 hours and the battery life is pretty good. It's better than the Bigme Galy I had reviewed early which also has a tendency to drain battery significantly overnight. This tablet has no unusual battery issues.
