"..If my dad found out I sacrificed a whole community just to save him.."
Oh the irony. The writing is so good in this
I keep cringing over every mention of the Ghoul "betraying his wife's trust" after seeing the whole series lol
I´d avoid comments like this in case reactors really watch the shows as paused as they provide us with their videos. I know many fake it, overreact and probably watch entire seasons of a show in 2 days as almost all of us do. But these 2 look legit.
I really enjoyed the writing, I feel like there could be more things like this (irony, foreshadowing, etc.) that you can catch on rewatch. Like early in E1 there's a 'Don't Lose Your Head' Vault Boy poster.
@@christianmichael3120 eh depends. obviously what she planned to do was wrong. But like she said, Vault-Tec exists with or without her and complaining from the side lines doesn't do much. If you knew the war was going to happen regardless because your company was willing to start it, would you also not make sure you and your family gets to live? Either way, he still betrayed her trust no matter how you spin it.
But it's clear they didn't end up dropping the bomb because she wouldn't drop the bomb knowing her daughter isn't safe.
@@natalialobo3766 what does binging a show have to do with faking anything?
i love that they added the hacking part and it was basically the same as it would be in the game
And noobs understand it about as much as they do ten hours into a playthrough.
Took.me a while to figure it out. But by the time I did, I was able to apply it to my 2nd game.
Was really hoping to see some duds removed / tries reset
The irony of this episode is that while they may be wierd and give off major cult vibes, Vault 4 is actually filled with kind hearted good people just trying to help.
Yeah dude, If I could choose where to be in this post-apocalyptic madness, that would be Vault 4. Happily obey the few rules they have and have a comphy life.
Didn't they essentially break free from their directives like Vault 81 did?
@@elinelai1891 Ehhh, Vault 81, directives? You don't know what you're talkinga bout.
@@maksphoto78 i guess it's poor wording on my part idk. 81's mission was experimenting with diseases or something but they moved away from it and became a normal safe vault. 4 went the same way, i think, they just continue this work in less "mad scientist" fashion
@@elinelai1891 Eh, no, vault 81 wasn't for experimenting with diseases. I don't wanna spoil it for you any further.
The Snake Oil Salesman literally having an immortality serum.....
I did not expect that.
Just your avarege wasteland encounter.
New Vegas has the kid with the gun that shoots the power of the sun running around.
@@trilobitose WHAT?
@@trilobitose ohh yeah, is that the gun you can buy from the kid? I think the cost is around 100 caps?

The Squire acquired a trait called "Ghoulish" in the games, whereby radiation exposure heals you, and you don't need to wear radiation protection in irradiated areas. Problem is you are essentially a Ghoul except without the outward visible decay, but it could happen later given enough time and exposure.
Yes, did not expect him to be such a great side character. 😂
Being a ghoul without the physical decay would be awesome.
except it's a toss of coin whether u'll experience decay and effects later @@user-il9ze9py8c
Yeah @@user-il9ze9py8clike it makes me curious of what other downsides there might be?
@@user-il9ze9py8c Yeah but I think soon overtime he's gonna be more goul like
The healer has often crossed our path and wanted to sell his medicine. Also to the now headless doctor, whose foot was shot off. It's funny to remember that the very remedy would have saved the doctor and he wouldn't have had to kill himself. But back then, they just walked past him and we laughed at the healer because it seemed impossible. Sure, he would have become a ghoul, but there is also medicine and he would still be alive.
Achara's Rule - "One last mouthful and get going." 😂
I'm a similar way. Lol.
The camera pan to the two heads "kissing" made me laugh harder than Achara did.
"The vaults were never meant to save anyone."
I mean they DID save ALOT of people who lived in there for centuries on end so saying that it "never meant to save anyone" is simply factually not true in the slightest, that's not even up for debate based on what we've seen, it's just that people are just not expected to live in the vaults forever and all eternity.
@@Gadget-Walkmenthey were literally never meant to save the lives of people. It was to run experiments on test subjects. Only the control vaults were meant to sustain human life.
They had control vaults with GECKs, and some of the experiments weren't that bad. I mean even 32 and 33 were basically normal as far as how they functioned and the quality of life for the people who lived there.
The opening scene is a reference to "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," which was also part of the inspiration for the opening scene of "Inglorious Basterds."
That first scene with the Ghoul has sooo much Sentenza vibes from The good the bad and the ugly, it's crazy.
24:54 that scene where he is hacking the terminal, thats the same screen you see in game. You have 4 tries to select a correct password from that jumbled data. Amazing they showed it in the show!
and on the final try you exit the terminal to get all guesses back lol
Norm is my fav character in the show , for those who played Fallout he's like me with perception , intel and agility build 😄
Dude's useless in combat but he has utility as a companion
@@BrokenNoah who need to fight when you can sneak arround and hack some computer ? 👀
@@crocowow From Fallout 3 onwards, I always build my character to sneak around and crit everybody, leaving no one alive. Lockpick and hack everything. Same with Starfield.
This show makes Jaby so anxious. He's just as cute as Achara now 😂
the reason why caps are considered currency is because it symbolizes water, the most valuable commodity of the wasteland the fact that machines that produces Nuka Cola and in-turn the caps are almost all destroyed means that there's very little way that the value would decrease however the amount of Nuka Cola Produced was so numerous that people would have no problem finding them in the wasteland.
Well, it's the orignial setting in Fallout 1, but the currency changed to gold pieces about 60 years later in the timeline of Fallout, at least that's the case of western coast area, there was even a quest later joking about caps as currency previously. But the concept of bottle caps as currency is just so popular and more interesting than gold lol.
lol If World War 3 really starts and those bombs really drop, we better save up those bottle caps for the future economy! LOL
Jaby and Achara, I gotta say. For people who aren't well versed in the game lore, you guys have some of the best reactions. I have seen less from those more informed. And entertaining as well, but I've already been around for years for that.
I think some of the people who know the games get so caught up in recognizing stuff from the games that they miss the story. While these two are able to give the story their full attention
@@5Amigos32 That might absolutely be the reason. And some people are also just not media literate enough to understand a lot. But I'm just glad two of my favorite reactors are on the ball.
@@charlie7mason That is very true too. I've just noticed some people interrupting every two seconds to point out blamco mac and cheese or robco
I never noticed the Farmer in episode 7 is wearing an NCR Veteran Ranger Uniform
Bro I perked up immediately and was like "Oh shit! The Desert Rangers!"
Ngl tho the mask feels so wrong, I hope they change that in season 2
@@thomasthederangedtankengin4006 Why does the mask feel wrong to you?
@@thomasthederangedtankengin4006 I get what you mean, didn't look as badass as it does in the games. But then you remember that this is after the NCR has fallen, that guy was probably a ranger once but isn't anymore. He's just using the mask and helmet to farm.
@@donovanb9020 that and the music is reminiscent of the menu screen in NV and FO4 during that scene.
What's up with dogs being left at Red Rockets in this universe😂
Or scrapyards/junktowns, like in Fallout 1 and Fallout 3.
Don't forget Fallout 4
the two Wastelanders at the beginning were wearing NCR Ranger Combat Armor which is also associated with the NCR and the Desert Rangers (Basically post apocalyptic Texas Rangers)
возможно это просто мародеры ограбили трупы каких-нибудь рейнджеров
I wonder if we'll see a reference to the Ceasars empire at all.
That red rocket place made me smile. I never did finish playing fallout story, but that is the 2nd place you see after the 1st town and many made that place their home base 😊
What I find funny is in FO4 you meet dog meat at the red rocket station…..So you meet a dog at “red rocket”….Pretty sure the writers are having a go at the players with that one.
@@ryanhampson673ohhh never thought of that but it's fucking obvious
The fact that the show answers nearly all of the questions they have set up for the season was great.
Jaby, they are literally leaving the only home they have ever known. Even if Blind Al weren't diabolical, it's a big step.
Love the physical comedy of Jaby just not being able to take the suspense 😂😂
If you think about it, "present-day" Vault 4 has to be the best inhabited Vault that we know of.
I think vault 81 is doing alright too.
Vault 8 in Fallout 2 had a g.e.c.k and used it to create an entire city around the vault.
Depending on your actions in the game, you can make it even better by helping them acquire energy from a nearby power plant.
76
There were multiple control vaults, meaning vaults without experiments
I think you're right because Vault 4 was designed as a model vault to sell the idea to buyers. Plus, it was inhabited by the fewest number of vault dwellers doing experiments on test subjects who probably didn't get the luxuries that the scientists got.
But when the test subjects revolted and took over the vault, it was just them and no one to continue the experiments on them.
Achara's predictions have been pretty spot on throughout this series. Very impressive.
"If I destroy an entire community to save my dad it would break his heart"
*Me watching Megaton go up from my new room in Tenpenny Tower*
"Stupid place to build anyway"
I can't tell if the Traveling Healer is going around selling FEV or Perks. It looks like Squire lost Perception since he missed every shot.
I’m incredibly satisfied with the pace you guys are uploading this series. Definitely subbed!
C'mon it isn't difficult to undertand why he was nervous. 33 is his home. His best friend is in 33. Everything he knows is in 33. If you were forced to leave your home you would freak out too.
Jaby's reaction to the foot 😂😂
Can't wait until you guys watch the finale legitimately blew me away and cemented how good this series is and how glad I am that it's getting a second season. The misdirect with Vault 4 letting them go really caught me off guard and it was hilarious 😂. I also never thought that the side plot with Norm and Chet would be one of the most interesting side plots and really gets you hooked with what's the truth. I also think Lucy and Max's relationship is pretty sweet since both of them come from different ways of life and yet both of them are good people and if anyone deserves happiness it both of them together.
I really like how the choices in this series really impact what happens in next in the show just like the actual Fallout game which I love to see and they really did a good job with how they executed it.
That Fred Armisen cameo was very surprising but I'm not complaining because I love his work
lucy and max barely have chemistry lol at least not enough to be crossing wastelands to reunite, lucy needs more time by herself before she should dive into liking the first man she met on the surface 😒
@@shayasims I mean that's your opinion on how they executed their relationship, and yes I do admit they are my favourite TV show couple, I still really like both of them together and how they share similar values after realising the dark truth about both of their respective ways of life. I don't I think I their cute together and it's sort of like watching two nerds get together it's wholesome. I do agree that Lucy should get time for herself to find out who she is after learning the truth about her father and her time with The Ghoul may help her. I at least hope that Maximus doesn't resent Lucy for leaving him behind in Season 2, hopefully they reunite
@@milkiassamuel780 lol i mean tons of people feel the same way as me as its been expressed on social media … i just dont think they have anything between them thats couple worthy, they can be just friends she doesnt need to be with him lol and this is coming from someone who went in prepared & excited to ship them, after watching their scenes and chemistry .. they just dont have it lol
The misdirection with Vault 4 was a perfect moment that I feel like it's something that could happen in the games lol. Same with Lucy finding Maximus locked inside the power armor.
Achara's been guessing everything right in every episode! lol
She's a lot smarter than Jaby, who always think himself the super analytical one superior to her. LOL
Well, the Ghoul scene is tribute to Angel Eyes (the Bad) scene from Good, Bad and the Ugly, of course it's similar to Inglourious Basterds because QT loves spaghetti westerns :)
i'm so with you, the trope where someone lied about their identity and gets exposed and then the other people stop talking to them and stuff is one of my most hated tropes, i'm glad they subverted it
The vault punishment is one of the funniest things to me. 😂
Anyone who is a fan of Fallout recognized the song that plays at the beginning of this episode.
Better yet, the armor.
Any player of Fallout 4 recognises the overwhelming urge to wipe out that gorram fiddle station.
I couldnt help but notice the Red Rocket cafe sign. Only the letters "Red Rock" were illuminated which made me think of the movie The Hateful 8 that he starred in and he kept mentioning he was the new sheriff of Red Rock
7 episodes in and I'm still feel fresh, still enjoying like the first episode
Oh man I can’t wait for y’all to see the reveal of Vault 31, it’s so perfect for a Fallout story. Totally New Vegas and F4 vibes. Great twist.
It's important to remember that the show is using these 2 characters to mirror player choice, and the uncertainty and disaster that sometimes comes with that.
"Is that even safe to do?"
*remembering finding fusion core in the middle of radioactive pond*
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I totally agree with your opinions about balancing between the jokes and serious storytelling. But fallout is a game that has both of those extremes constantly, so I really appreciate them keeping it silly while telling this conspiracy.
The music playing while the squire is waiting for the Brotherhood to come is funny. Because I honestly hate it in the game. Maybe many players do as well. Like "WTF is this????". And I always try to avoid it. And now here in the show they talk about it and how some people can´t appreciate it and stuff.
The cliffhangers are terrific, it makes no sense to even have them if the episodes are all released at the same time. Cliffhangers are there to build suspense and anticipation.
That said, I love this series!
Some people don't binge watch it all in a day, so I'm sure they appreciate the cliffhangers
Thaddeus is Ghoul-ajacent.
The "transfer activated" message on the Pip-Boy was just Betty sending the list of people going to 32. It was not a message to 31.
"If my dad found out I wiped out a whole community just to rescue him..." there's a lot of good subtle set-up and pay-off in this show.
😡
2:53 The movies lie I hate to tell you but shoulder wounds can be very deadly, this is pretty off topic but I felt like I had to say something I never understood why shoulder wounds were always shook off like it was nothing in fiction, yes it's not the most vital place but it's still deadly there are many arteries that run through the shoulder.
the hacking the terminal scene is the same as it is in the game lol
A few videos ago you mentioned going to a town in the first few hours but forgot the name. I think that's probably Megaton. It's the closest town near the starting point.
Not sure if this was mentioned in the comments, this has already been green lit for season 2! 🙌🏼 it was like a day after release lol
The way he found the password in the computer is such a good easter egg because that's how you find the passwords in the game :D
Achara calling the moment when Max takes that last handful of popcorn.....
❤❤❤❤❤
Achara has clearly rolled so many points into perception in her Pip-boy. She's pretty much on point for just about everything from a speculating perspective.
Thaddeus missing all of the shots and Lucy and Maximus looking around confused HAS to be the Pulp Fiction reference.
Seeing these for the second time, I realised that the reason the lab technician grabbed a spear gun as a weapon was because of the gulpers that were being bred in the lab. And the spare gun cabinet says specimen control. I love all these little details. It does reward some re-watching.
ive been binging this and legitimately amazed at acharas perception. loved this fallout reaction looking forward to see the final ep
Ella Purnell is like so unreasonably cute and anime lol. Perfect casting and acting for a (still, even after all she's seen) starry-eyed optimist
They're great with cliffhangers. This has to be the best show as far as great cliffhangers that I've ever watched.
Man, y'all are really killing it with these reactions! I'm loving each of them. I'm not a big fan of the game but I'm liking how it's been so far with the whole adaptation. It's the same as the last of us. They make up for the original work.
0:43 i thought that was Ian McShane from John Wick 😂
I'm glad you edited his foot, I had to put my hand out and cover the foot, when I first watched.
Good news, Jaby. The show already has been renewed for season 2 before it even aired!
It is so funny to watch oe😊 that haven’t played fallout just flailing around while I am just so blown away with all the depth of continuity
I never noticed the Farmer in episode 7 is wearing an NCR Veteran Ranger Uniform.
.. you didn't recognize the most famous NV armour?
@@nvcn86 I was probably Taking a sip of coffee during all of it's screentime lol
It seems that a lot of us were somehow looking away during that scene, and it's not even a blink and you miss it scene.
Fallout 4 and New Vegas went on sale on Steam soon after the show dropped. I finally get to finish them.
Achara, I LOVE YOU for calling out the last mouthful of popcorn for Maximus!😂
12:29 “I just see flags” I actually laughed out loud damn
I kept recalling Frankenstein: A Modern Prometheus.
However, the point about Vault 4 experimentation is this. If the scientists are not answerable to anyone, how far are they willing, and likely, to go. I appreciate that it was so well crafted that we, the audience, thought the worst of Vault 4, even though the modern vault is just trying to help.
They captured those very funny fallout moments very well
I love this show I like this with you guys did uploading this series
Thaddeus has an insanely high pain threshold 😮
By good vaults his wife meant the control vaults where there are no experiments. They leave those normal so they have a comparison for the experiment ones.
The Ghoul reminds me so much of the Man in Black in Westworld, which sort of makes sense given the people behind the series
I take these as it comes
13:12 Agatha's song!!! 🥲🥲🥲
Caps in the og games are used by water merchants and backed by clean water. Its use was also limited since money was still a thing.
When bethesda bought the ip and made fallout 3, they kept the caps as currency but didn’t specify why, it just is. Probably caps got more popular so it saw wider use? Who knows.
I only had one big unanswered question at the end of the season but there is a reasonable headcanon answer so have to just let it go.
is it about the fight between The Ghoul and Maximus in one of the earlier episodes? Cause based on the last episode, The Ghoul could've killed Maximus with a single bullet, but he didn't, which means he intentionally spared Maximus life earlier on, and I think it's because he could tell Maximus was just trying to do the right thing.
@@yannym4605 Or he just didn't recall that weakness at the moment and that fight got him thinking. A big part of the Ghoul's story is spent thinking about the past.
The power comes from the Fusion Core which is kind of like the only size battery that exists in this world since it is essentially a nuclear battery.
To be fair, Thad was dead man walking without that chicken f-er'w help.
I think he finally came clean because he started to trust and feel comfortable around Lucy. I think he saw someone who was truly good which is something he obviously wants to be but struggles to know how to go about it and her good nature forced his guilty conscience to come clean.
0:41: Yes! I recognized him straight away as well. LOL. When the CHiPs are down, he'll do the right thing.
Goh , The dude from chips is on here too lol
Considering the episode was called "the radio", did anyone pay attention to the tune on the radio? Sounded like they were on the minuteman radio frequency. I love how spot on it is with the games. The Ghoul Gunslinger reminds me of "the mysterious stranger" from the luck perks. Such a good show!
Re watching this and just noticed how they have the merchant run out to the guy and try to offer some service, usually at a discount price. Reminded me of how npcs will do that in game and sometimes it’s a set up to be robbed, killed, or scammed. Really like how they did that.
This was the episode I was watching when I realized that Thaddeus is Bilbo from "SuperStore".
It had been bugging me since the first episode.
I am bad at recognizing/connecting familiar faces in movies & TV.
I wonder if they are going to stay in this area or are we going to New Vegas or the Commonwealth to see more of the the scientist
I neeeed to see your reaction to the next asap😅😁😁
Desperately awaiting the finale lol
You guys still gotta react to the Ermac Trailer.
19:36 i have tried to make a few pip-boys - they can get heavy…
Some i made with little weight.
I'm laughing at the idea of these guys watching Lost, and Jaby flipping out at the end of every episode, even if the doesn't have to wait a week between eps 😂. But personally I think the ending surprisingly answers most of the important questions; also, S2 was already greenlit before S1 was released.
The Pip-Boy has a Bluetooth-like wireless system.
Coop synced the earpiece to her Pip-Boy.
29:27 thank god i wasn't the only one who noticed that, every other goddamn piece of media the guy always fucks up and goes to the danger instead of calling emergency.
They briefly showed what he was looking at at the end It was something on the ground but I couldn't make it out.
I might be misremembering or missing something, but does the doctor now have a fusion core and Maximus and Lucy left unpowered power armor outside of Vault 4? That would be interesting
The first scene is the opening scene for the "bad" from the good the bad and the ugly.
I'm early...uhhh...Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter!
This show isn't just the high and low (tremble and bass)... but the mid... yeah, right there... did you catch the mid? Love the hidden meanings in the script.
Good thing you can binge
_The Ghoul blows a hole through directly through a kid's chest_
That's a non-lethal wound, right?
he clearly thought the bullet hit the shoulder...
@yannym4605 might need to get his eyes checked. That clearly went right through his chest lol
It looked like a shoulder wound to me too
I like Vault 4 the people there are so nice 😊
