I give credit where credit is due. I also listened to N.I.N. version when it came out......loved it. I am a very strange anomaly of hair-band hard rocker, old-school country, Elvis, Sinatra and 90's Lithium/Alternative/Grunge. It's because of what I grew up with and what I listened to when I was younger, in rebellion. I also like some folk music and "backwoods" music. This dude right here, David Radcliffe, is the real deal, and evokes some deep feelings! Thank you sir, for your songs and exquisite voice that God gave you! thank you for sharing!

David, you encapsulate the struggle, yet the talent and Esoteric intrigue of Johnny Cash; you truly embody his Spirit and Sound, yet you have your own 'Dark Country/Outlaw Country' embodiment as well. There is something truly unique going on in your music; you sure sound like Johnny Cash with your own slightly darker, bolder, deeper twist (which I love in men's voices 😊 ). When I read about that story; about Cash doing that song, and Trent Reznor's reaction to hearing a legend sinh his lyrics - it all comes back full circle. It's so powerful, even Trent himself couldn't believe it, and felt honored. This; all of this: from One Man's Depression, to Poetry, to Music: to another Man's Depression, and His Music: and to many, many other artists of so many kinds whom this may inspire: There IS Purpose in this life. Exceptional! I see you do Johnny Cash on songs he never performed. One song I think would be a great fit would be an acoustic version of Judas Priest's Desert Plains. I think are other songs in the metal genre Cash might have done and done well if they had been around when he was younger.

I like both versions. While I’m a bit more of a Cash fan. Both singers convey a sorrow, a sadness, and pain, but for different reasons.
I listned 200 time Cash version, and after i concluded is just a cover. NIN version is original. A mercedes can never me replicate.
